Pick: Oklahoma -3.5
Oklahoma's record looks pretty bad but it doesn't show the level of competition the Sooners have faced this season. This team is better than most think. As for this game, the Sooners shoot and rebound better than the Red Raiders. Texas Tech is simply awful, especially on the road. I fade them in almost every road contest. They are also 1-9 ATS in the last 10 games. Give Oklahoma the check mark.

The “intangible” has to do with the fact that Nebraska will be taking the court only twice in the next 10 days which means they can let it all hang out so to speak this evening in what is a rare National-TV home game for the Cornhuskers program. One has to wonder why Nebraska is being asked to lay so many points against an opponent who enters on a lengthy SEVEN game winning streak. Not only has Colorado won 7 consecutive contests, they currently rank #8 nationally in offensive production averaging a whopping 84 points per contest. The Buffaloes (14-4) are undefeated in Big 12 league play already knocking off a pair of nationally ranked opponents (Missouri, Kansas State) and have guards Alec Burks (19.7 ppg) along with Cory Higgins (16.6 ppg) who are being looked at as legitimate NBA quality players. Even though on paper it appears that Colorado should actually be favored in this ESPN2 national telecast, the Buffaloes actually had to rally from a rather large deficit in the latest triumph back on Saturday which to me is a red flag. Another negative involving tonight’s visitor is that Nebraska has one of the nation’s best defenses with a ranking of #2 in field-goal percentage defense (35.1) and #3 in points per game allowed (55.5). That is in stark contrast to Colorado whose stop-unit enters tonight with a national ranking (#257) that is for the most part a disaster. Last time on the floor Nebraska nearly put an end to Kansas ’ massive 69-game home winning streak as the Huskers actually held a “double digit” lead early in the second-half. Even though Nebraska ended up losing the game straight up by a slim “three point” margin, they soundly defeated the nation’s #2 ranked Jayhawks in the rebounding department (43-32) by a substantial margin. This is a DOUBLE REVENGE special as Colorado one year ago twice defeated Nebraska by “double digit” margins. Due to having one of the nation’s best defenses, there is a very good reason why Nebraska is laying so many points this evening
