Purdue (+7') for 2 Units
Purdue is coming off a big win at home vs Mich State; normally, it's not a good play to side with such a team, especially on the road at such a strong venue; however, Purdue is equipped with a veteran team with a high maturity level that feeds off wins. They also are tough vs good teams with a 7-2 ATS mark against a team with a winning % above .600. Furthermore, they have two outstanding players in JaJuan Johnson and E'Twaun Moore who are surrounded by a pretty good supporting cast. Purdue's HC Painter does a good job in putting his men in position to succeed. With the dog in this series at 5-1-1 ATS and the road team covering the last 3, we'll look for the Boilermakers to take a legitimate stab at knocking off the #1 team in the land.

1* Syracuse -13.5
Syracuse is coming off of two straight losses including a very poor loss in their last game at home against Villanova. Because of that loss, I expect the Orange to bring a very strong effort in this game. Seton Hall meanwhile is really struggling, and they have already lost to Syracuse at home this season. In fact, Syracuse should have won by much more because they were horrible from the free throw line despite getting 36 attempts overall. Syracuse also had a massive edge in field goal percentage in that game as well. Seton Hall has shown an ability to get blown out by the better teams on their schedule, with getting hammered at Pittsburgh, at Louisville, and at Cincinnati. Look for the Orange to win this game in a blowout.

8* Dayton -1.5
Richmond won 26 games last season and made an NCAA appearance while Dayton won 25 games on its way to winning the NIT title. Both teams enter this game 15-5 overall with Richmond at 4-1 in A-10 play and Dayton at 3-2. This is an important game, as both schools trail Duquesne and Xavier, which have opened 5-0 in league play. The Spiders own last year's A-10 player of the year, guard Kevin Anderson (16.4-3.5 APG), plus the emergence of 6-10 senior Justin Harper (18.1-6.6) ppg) has everyone in the conference taking notice of the Spiders. Surely the Flyers are well aware of them, having lost a hard-fought 60-54 decision at Richmond last season in the teams' only meeting. Harper will be a 'tough nut' but Dayton owns a pair of outstanding forwards named Chris, who present a difficult matchup for all Dayton opponents. The 6-8 Wright is averaging 13.0 PPG and 9.0 RPG plus the 6-6 Johnson accounts for 12.5 PPG and 6.0 RPG. The 6-9 Benson (4.6-3.6) and the 6-10 Searcy (4.4-4.5) add size. Two new backcourt performers have helped Dayton win 10 of its last 13 games, freshman PG Staten (9.2-6.6 APG) and Drake transfer Parker (8.6-2.5 APG). Dayton is 12-1 at home this year (lone loss came 62-61 to Bucknell) and that's really nothing new. Note that the Flyers are an awesome 75-8 (.904) at home since the beginning of the 2006-077 season. Stick with the home team.
