Brian Edwards

UNC vs Rhode Island
Pick: Under 151.5

The 'under' is 10-4 in UNC's last 14 games with a total in the 150s. The 'under' is on a 19-7 run in the Tar Heels' last 26 outings (regardless of the number othe venue). The 'under' went 17-13-1 overall for Rhode Island this season. I made this number 144, so in my mind we're getting excellent line value. Give me the 'under.'

The Duke's Sports

Pacific (+5') for 1.5 Units

Pacific worked out early season road difficulties to become more comfortable as a traveler at this stage. The Tigers are now on a 6-0 ATS road run and do well in this spread range as a traveler at 4-0 ATS. Pacific led by 6'9" Willard, surprisingly plays better defense , is more careful with the ball, and is a better rebounding team than the Bears. MSU hasn't been the defensive stopper they've been over the last few years under HC Martin - allowing a generous 43% from the floor and 37% from beyond the arc this season. This CIT Tournament hasn't attracted much attention to the student body and should enable the visiting Tigers to maintain their composure down the stretch.

Bob Balfe

Rhode Island Pk

When would the day come when Rhode Island would be a favorite over UNC? The fact is, the Tar Heels are just not that good of a team this year. Particularly on the road, they have looked pretty bad all year, defensively more than offensively. I do give credit to Roy Williams and the staff for keeping this team focused in what amounts as a joke of a tournament for the program. Rhode Island has been a scrappy team all year and a date in the NIT Championship means a lot for their small program. This is going to be a great game but I give the slight edge to Rhode Island who, in my opinion, has the better overall defense. UNC, as displayed most of the year, will not be able to execute effectively enough down the stretch to pull out the victory tonight. Better luck next year. Take the Rams.
