Bob Balfe

Tampa Bay Rays -112

The Redsox have not had much against the top teams in the AL East and the Rays have owned them in recent history. Tampa was on the road for most of those games, so they will be at even more of an advantage tonight at home. Both pitchers are excellent, but the home field advantage and the historical domination over the Red Sox will be the difference. Take Tampa Bay.

Dwayne Bryant

Los Angeles Lakers at Phoenix Suns
Bet: Los Angeles Lakers -1.5

We cashed with the Suns in Game 3, but we're backing the Lakers tonight. Like I said in my Suns write-up, this series is eerily similar to how things went when these teams met in the regular season. Consider this:

Regular Season Game 1 in LA: Lakers roll by 19. Playoffs Game 1 in LA: Lakers roll by 21.

Regular Season Game 2 in LA: Lakers roll by 20. Playoffs Game 2 in LA: Lakers roll by 12.

Regular Season Game 3 in Phoenix: Suns win 118-103. Playoffs Game 3 in Phoenix: Suns win 118-109.

Regular Season Game 4 in Phoenix: Lakers win by 6. Playoffs Game 4 in Phoenix: ???

I love finding patterns in teams' play. I've made a lot of money this way and there's a definite pattern here. The Lakers have had time to watch film of their Game 3 loss and I fully expect Phil Jackson to have a game plan in place to thwart the Suns' zone defense. LA takes back control of this series. Take the Lakers.

ROCKETMAN

St Louis @ San Diego
Play: St Louis -135

St Louis is 20-13 this year against right handed starters. St Louis bullpen has a 2.92 ERA overall this year and a 3.08 ERA on the road this season. Adam Wainwright is now 6-2 with a 2.49 ERA overall this year, has a 2.83 ERA on the road and is 2-1 his last 3 starts. St Louis is now 12-2 overall vs San Diego the past 3 years. Wainwright is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA overall vs San Diego since 1997. Garland is 0-3 with a 7.36 ERA overall vs St Louis since 1997. We'll play St Louis for 3 units tonight!

The Duke's Sports

LA Lakers Under (221') for 2 Units

The Suns will most likely stick to the 2-3 zone which disrupted the Lakers' rhythm in the 2nd quarter of Game 3. In the first two games of the series, Phoenix was getting hammered inside with Gasol but now they can cut off dribble penetration and block driving lanes to force Los Angeles to make that extra pass to get an open look; consequently, that should slow the game down a tad. At the same time, the Lakers should improve defensively with their adjustments. Los Angeles is 0-6 O/U as a small road favorite while the Suns are 2-7 O/U as a small home dog. Now that this 'total' propped up about 10 points from its opening in Game 1 of this series, we'll go the other way with the "under", considering the defensive adjustments made.
