Nick "BookieKiller" Parsons

Atlanta +138

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the home side

Roy Halladay is 3-0 to start the year; he pitched eight innings while his team scored eight runs and held on for an 8-6 run over the Marlins on Friday night.

Halladay has been awesome this season, but the rest of his team has been slumping and are coming off a very disappointing loss as the Braves used a late rally to win 4-3 in the series opener.

The Phillies have lost three straight and four of five.

In the other dugout: Atlanta, who has five of six to move into a tie for the division lead, sends Tim Hudson (1-0 2.84) to the mound.

This will be Hudson's first home start of the year; so far he's looked pretty comfortable out there, giving up just four combined runs in two starts and posting a 2.84 ERA; not many K's, but he's only given up one home run and nine hits in two outings.

Bottom line: I definitely feel the value in this contest is on the home side; as well as Halladay has played to start the season, if he's unable to get any support, winning is going to be difficult.

Atlanta has been hot at the plate, is coming off an inspiring victory, while Hudson has been above average to start the year and has a big opportunity to get a victory over one of the leagues best; 6* "BIG DOG" of the Week on the BRAVES!

Atlanta +140

Roy Halladay has pitched great this season, but faces his toughest task tonight going against a hot team and a good pitcher in Tim Hudson, who has the Phils number historically. The Braves are coming off a huge come-from-behind win last night and have all of the momentum to beat arguably the best team in baseball again tonight. Take Atlanta.

Dallas -3.5

Took them laying 5.5 on Sunday and more of the same again today. Dallas has won 9 out of 11 games against the Spurs. It is simply a matchup issue that the aging Spurs cannot overcome, not to mention the depth issue and unlike years past, the Spurs defense is not up to par. People have figured out how to beat them, and Dallas has their number. I could throw up stats and figures, but Dallas is better in this series, as in my blogs online, the team to bet on in this series to win it and advance, doubt they give up games at home. Play 1 Unit on Dallas.

Dodgers -130

The Dodgers and Reds had a wild one last night in Cincinnati with the Reds prevailing 11-9. This Cincinnati win halted a five game Reds losing streak. The pitching matchup tonight in Cincinnati has Kuroda for LA and Harang for the Reds. Big pitching EDGE tonight for LA as Kuroda has been very sharp in his two outings this season going 15 innings and allowing only two earned runs. His control has been spot on as he has allowed only one walk. It hasn’t been very good for Harang as the Cincinnati righty hasn’t been able to get anybody out in his three starts going 16 innings with a 7.87 ERA. The last time Kuroda faced this Reds team he fooled them for 8 innings allowing only five hits and two earned runs. Harang hasn’t been as fortunate against the Dodgers as he’s been banged around in his six starts posting a 2-4 team start record. The Dodgers normally bounce back after a close loss as they are 31-13 after losing by two runs or less. Our Oddsmaker EDGE play tonight is on LA Dodgers.

San Antonio +3.5

When the Spurs meet the Mavericks in Dallas Wednesday night in Game Two of this playoff series they will take the court knowing San Antonio is 10-5 ATS in Game Two off a Game One loss, including 4-0 ATS if they own a win percentage of less than .670 on the season. On the flip side, the Mavs are 3-8 SU and 2-9 ATS at home off a SU and ATS playoff win when Dallas owns a win percentage of less than .720 on the season, including 1-6 SU and 0-7 ATS when not favored by five or more points. With the Mavericks an anemic 10-28-1 ATS as a home favorite this season, look for the Spurs to even this series here this evening. We recommend a 3-unit play on San Antonio.
