MR EAST

NCAAB WEDNESDAY WINNER

DAYTON @ ILLINOIS
3 UNITS ILLINOIS -3.5

Post-season tournaments leave a trail as to tendencies, and how they change from the regular season, and even post-season conference tournaments. Taking a snapshot of the trail they leave behind offers value in given areas, and a place and time to exploit these situations as they arise. I have years of data and have found many places where these situations can be taken advantage of and will post them as they arise. This game fits into that area. Illinois gets the call.

The Duke's Sports

Princeton Over (106) for 2 Units

Both of these teams are defensively strong but we find value with the "over" based on the low "total" line. From an opening at 109, it was bid down to 105 in some places. Sure, Princeton sports the #1 defense in the NCAA in terms of allowing points at 53 ppg however, Majerus runs the Bilikens' offense efficiently and he has some scorers in Reed, Ellis, and Mitchell that are rarely contained at Chaifetz Arena. On the other hand, Princeton is road savvy and has been productive offensively throughout the CBI shooting 48% from the field; moreover, the Tigers have out shot opponents from the field in their last 7 games. Technically, St. Louis is 9-1 O/U as a home favorite in this spread range. We'll go "over" here.

Nick "BookieKiller" Parsons

Golden St +1

For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the Warriors.

The Grizzlies are hoping to get into the playoffs and is on pace for its first winning season since 05/06.

Its coming off back-to-back victories over Golden Sate on Saturday and Sacramento on Monday; I believe it will suffer a letdown tonight though.

Keep in mind that Memphis is just 2-3-1 ATS its last six overall.

On the other side of the court: Golden State can put points on the board and is led by Monta Ellis, sixth in the NBA with 25.8 ppg. He's averaged 31.3 over the last four.

Remember though, Golden State is 6-2 ATS its last eight overall and a perfect 5-0 ATS its last five in front of the home town crow

Bottom line: Home court advantage and the "revenge factor" can't be overlooked here; look for GOLDEN STATE to improve to 32-22 ATS as an underdog and for Memphis to fall to 16-16 ATS as a favorite!

Tony George

Illinois -3

A number one seed at home against mid-major school laying a 3 pointer is too good to pass up. I still remember this same Illinois team giving powerhouse Ohio State all they wanted in the Big 10 tourney, losing in OT in that game. Illinois comes from a conference in which I thought was weak, but has 3 teams in the sweet 16 now. Dayton comes from a weaker conference. Illinois defends the perimeter well, are tough at home and Dayton has covered just 3 out of their last 11 games. I am liking the home team tonight, better team, deeper talent, good coach, and home floor. Play 1 Unit on Illinois.

Rocketman

Charlotte -9

Charlotte is currently fighting for a spot in the playoffs. They are sitting as the #7 seed right now only 1/2 game behind 6th place Miami and 1/2 game ahead of 8th place Toronto. Minnesota is 11-25 ATS this year after 3 or more consecutive losses. Charlotte is 78-47 ATS since 1996 when playing back to back days. Charlotte is 6-0 ATS this year after 3 or more consecutive unders. Minnesota is only 5-31 SU on the road this year where they are allowing a whopping 112 points per game. Charlotte has a strong home court going 25-8 SU at home this season. Minnesota has lost 13 games in a row. Charlotte has won 8 of their last 11 overall. We'll play Charlotte for 3 units tonight!

Marc Lawrence

Indiana

When the Pacers host the Wizards in an NBA showdown involving two teams that will be sidelined for the playoffs this season, they will do so knowing Washington takes to the road off a mini one game home stand last night. Not good news for the Wizards, who are 0-10 ATS on the road without rest off a home game that was preceded by two road games in which they are not taking 13 or more points since 1990. In addition, Indiana is 10-2 ATS as a favorite in this series when Washington owns a win percentage of .400 or less. Indiana is also 9-0 SU and ATS at home in this series from Game 34 out in which the Wizards own a win percentage of less than .410 on the season. With the Pacers playing their best ball of the season (7-0 ATS last seven games), we recommend a 4-unit play on Indiana.
