New York Yankees -1½

The Astros are the ALs worst team, and should be handled easily by the NY Yankees in this series and tonight. Houston leads the majors with 248 strikeouts which is an average of 9.9 per game and are the easiest team to score on in the league, giving up 5.9 runs per game.. Astros are 0-7 in the last 7 meetings in this series. These two teams are currently operating at the opposite end of the performance spectrum as the Yankees enter into this matchup off a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Cardinals -125

I'll take Adam Wainwright over Mat Latos any day of the week in this spot. Wainwright has more days rest and he's pitching at home where he has an ERA under 3 combined over the last 4 seasons. He also has better xFIP numbers this year and against the Reds hitters in general holding them to .198 average and .565 OPS. Cinic has struggled vs RHP batting just .225 on the year, but on the road they are hitting just .192 and scoring 3.25 runs per 9 along with their 6.92 BULLPEN ERA.

Latos on the other hand has not pitched well at Busch Stadium. Over his last 5 starts here he's given up 25 ER in just 22 IP. Cards have a .321 average and a .878 OPS against Mat Latos and are scoring 5.92 runs per 9 vs RHP at home on the year. They also are 52-24 in their last 76 home meetings with the Reds.

Baltimore Orioles -114

The Baltimore Orioles will look to continue their dominance over the Mariners when the two teams meet tonight at Safeco Field in Seattle. The Orioles took eight of nine from the Mariners last season, including a 5-1 record at Safeco and will send Zach Britton to the mound for his first start of the season. Britton did not make the team out of spring training but posted a 1-0 record with a 1.98 ERA in 3 starts at Norfolk before earning the promotion to the big club. He has pitched sparingly over the past few seasons, going 5-3 last year and owns a 2.57 ERA in two career starts versus Seattle. The Mariners will counter with Joe Saunders, who signed a free agent deal with the team in the off-season. The soft throwing lefty has been hammered in his last two starts, going just 9.2 combined innings while giving up 20 hits and 15 runs over that stretch. He has also struggled against the Orioles in his career, posting a 4.73 ERA over 40 innings pitched. The Orioles, who blew a lead late in Oakland yesterday to take a 9-8 loss have actually been very good in the spot they are in here tonight. They are 22-4 in their last 26 games following a loss dating back to last season and have won 8 of their last 9 games against teams from the American League West. Seattle, who took three of four from the Angles over the weekend, have struggled a bit coming off a win, losing 8 of 9 and have just a 1-4 overall record in games that Saunders has started this season. Pair that with the fact that the Orioles have been good against teams with a losing record, going 23-9 in their last 32 games in that spot and we’ll take them at a pick tonight to get the win on the road.
