Seton Hall vs. West Virginia
Play: Under 147.5

The Under is the logical play here. Seton Hall is ready for a let down coming off one of their biggest road wins beating St Johns in Carnesseca Arena under Head Coach Gonzalez. In that win 2 of the Halls best scoring threats were injured Hazell and Harvey. It looks to me that the oddsmaker adjusted the line due to injury, but didn't move the total. Even if Hazell and Harvey play today they won't be close to 100%. Throw in that WV has nut job but sharp Head Coach Huggins, you can bet that WV players will give a full effort on the defensive end for the whole game or risk getting a Huggins temper tantrum when he takes them out of the game.

Wake Forest at N.C. STATE (+2)

Now 5 straight Freebie winners with the Heat outright over the Grizzlies Friday! Going back to the college game Saturday, and I'm taking a hard look at Wake Forest-N.C. State!

Be honest with yourself... Doesn't it seem a little "too easy" to take the Demon Deacons in this spot? With winners in 4 of their L5 games SU (7-1 ATS L8), its no surprise we're seeing a ton of public action on Wake. You've got a ranked team visiting an unranked conference opponent - laying only a basket - I'd be very wary of making the "obvious" play here.

Its been a nightmare the last month or so for the Wolf Pack, but dismissing them tonight is a mistake. We've seen them play great ball at home, covering versus Clemson and upsetting Duke last month! They've fallen off since then, but their losses have come against better teams in bad situational spots. For example, they played a very motivated Tarheels team coming off back-to-back home losses.

Biggest issue for NC State has been scoring points, and luckily, Wake has been plenty generous in that department ( allowing 71 ppg away). Wolf Pack shot only 33% in their last meeting, and only lost by 8 points... Change the venue, and all of a sudden, these two teams are very close. Take the points with NC State here.

2♦ N.C. STATE

Morgan State at Murray State

It's not often that you get a 20-8 team that won outright at Arkansas and only lost by 9 at Louisville as a double digit underdog. But that's exactly what we have here with the Bears of the MEAC. Morgan State has won 12 of their last 13 games and they enter this contest with extreme confidence. They've already locked up the regular season title with a 13-1 mark and this is their chance to show the nation that they are a quality squad.

Murray State is having an excellent year at 25-3 and a perfect 16-0 in the OVC. They finish the regular season with Morehead State and Western Kentucky, two teams right below them in the conference standings. Therefore we can't see the Racers being overly concerned with today's opponent from a lesser conference.

Morgan State is the more motivated team and big dogs have been golden in these Bracket Buster match-ups. With a quality squad like the Bears we know we will receive a full game effort. Look for a high scoring tightly contested game.

PLAY MORGAN STATE

1* Take Virginia

This pick falls into one of my NCAAB systems and the Cavaliers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog of +7.0 to +12.5 points. Clemson is just 2-6 ATS in their 8 games overall and they are just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games when playing a team that has a losing record on the road. The Tigers are also just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after a win and the Underdog is 10-4 ATS in the last 14 games between these two teams. Virginia is a very good shooting team from the line hitting 74.9% overall this season and I look for them to get to the line a lot today by playing aggressive. Take Virginia.

Kentucky vs. Vanderbilt
Play: Kentucky +1.5

Saturday's game in Nashville will present the toughest road obstacle Kentucky has faced all season. The Commodores are 13-0 on their home floor this season and 59-7 over the last four years. They've won four straight over the Cats in Nashville, including a 93-52 shellacking two years ago. UK enters the game on a six-game winning streak, including an exciting 81-75 overtime win at Mississippi State on Tuesday that saw 14 ties and 11 lead changes. Vandy sits just one game back of UK atop the Southeastern Conference standings.

The Commodores will have the Wildcats right where they want them Saturday at a place where they rarely lose. The peculiar setting at Memorial Gym creates an additional advantage for the home team. It can be particularly difficult if you haven’t played there before, as is the case with most of the young Cats. However, the Cats will have one advantage entering this contest and that’s the fact that they have already beaten the Commodores once this season. The Cats dominated the first meeting, 85-72 in Lexington three weeks ago. They proved too much for the Commodores to handle on the interior, outrebounding them 39-21. The physicality of the Cats was on full display and could once again be the difference this time around.

The Wildcats got a scare from the Bulldogs on Tuesday and you can fully expect them to come out focused Saturday. Emotion will only be able to carry Vandy so far in this match-up. If Vandy can’t find a way to keep the Wildcats off the boards, it could be long evening. A change of venue will result in a closer contest, but ultimately I see the same result. Play on the Kentucky Wildcats for 1 unit.

1 Unit on Purdue Boilermakers -12

With Purdue going after a Big Ten title, as well as campaigning for a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance, look for it to really put a whooping on the Illini today. Purdue is a much better team now than it was when it defeated the Illini by 6 points in Champagne. The fact of the matter is that Illinois does not play an aggressive enough defensive to cause the Boilermakers many problems. Purdue is 8-1 ATS in home games versus poor pressure defensive teams forcing <=14 turnovers/game after 15+ games over the last 2 seasons, beating these teams by an average score of 67.1 to 49.8. Plus, the Illini are 4-9-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings in this matchup and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a double-digit loss at home. Lay the number.

1* on Texas A&M -2.5

Iowa State has been awful for over a month now since losing guard Lucca Staiger. ISU has lost 5 straight and 8 of their last 9, with their only win coming at home against Colorado by 1 point. Texas A&M is certainly a tournament team this season, and after winning 4 straight they nearly pulled off an upset over Kansas last time out. At 18-7, A&M knows they cannot slip up here against the Cyclones, and they'll bring their best effort to the floor knowing a win will keep them in the tournament. Iowa State is 0-7 ATS (-7.7 Units) vs. teams who are called for 3+ less fouls/game than their opponents after 15+ games over the last 3 seasons. A&M is 10-1 ATS (+8.9 Units) in February games over the last 2 seasons. The Aggies are 11-2 ATS (+8.8 Units) when the line is +3 to -3 over the last 2 seasons. Take Texas A&M and lay the points.

Miami + over Dallas

Dwyane Wade is unlikely to play in this game but the Heat were winners last night without him and this is a team that has now won five in a row despite a daunting stretch of scheduling. The injury coupled with this being a fifth straight road game creates a massive line in this game as the 29-27 Heat will be a double-digit underdog a role, normally reserved for the league's bottom-feeders. Dallas is a rejuvenated team, coming out with wins in the last two games against quality opponents. The Mavericks are still a miserable 6-19 ATS at home this season and the Mavericks have been one of the least profitable teams to back in the league. Miami can stay in this game with defense even if the scoring potential is down with Wade out of the lineup. Miami is allowing just 78 points per game and holding foes to 35 percent shooting while the Dallas defense has slipped, giving up 105 points per game in that span. Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood make the Mavericks look like a great team on paper but this looks like a problematic situation for a team to lay a huge number, as it still looks to find itself. With Wade out of the lineup Michael Beasley exploded for 30 points last night and there are others on this team with scoring potential. Take the Heat and the extra value in this match-up and expect a close game.

SPORTS WAGERS

Charlotte +1.31 over MILWAUKEE

One must take into consideration the letdown factor after the Cats beat the Cav’s last night. However, that letdown factor sometimes gets overplayed and this choice is all about the matchup, which doesn’t bode well for the Bucks. Milwaukee is a team that takes a lot of low percentage shots and against the defense they’ll see here that could pose a big problem. Besides, the Bucks are a very beatable team and a close look shows that when they play a team with grit and heart they usually lose. In fact, the Bucks last four wins came against Detroit, New Jersey, Indiana and New York. The Bucks last three losses were to Detroit, Orlando and Houston and all were by double digits. The last team they beat with a winning record was a month ago when they beat the Raps on Jan 20. The Bobcats are not world-beaters but they’re tough and they looked absolutely terrific last night and it would mean nothing if they lost here. Tyrus Thomas instantly fit in and had a big game last night and as a result the Cats have to be feeling pretty damn good coming into this one. Bobcats outright. Play: Charlotte +1.31 (Risking 2 units).

Utah +11.5 vs San Diego St.

My only regret was not getting this line at +12. I feel line movement has been very telling in UTAH games of late. I keep seeing time and time again that whichever way the line initially moves in Utah games end up being the correct side to back. This line has come down off the +12 number to the current line of +11.5. The real question here is simple: Which Utah team is going to show up?

UTAH is a very talented team, when they want to be. In the past, this Utes team has been one of the most consistent teams to bet on in the nation. That was because they were so consistently consistent with their fundamentals and overall effort. Utah is a team that this year has been the exact opposite of this. However, i feel they play their best basketball against their toughest competition. I've been watching this team closely their past few league games, and i think they are a perfect buy low team. This team has the proper talent and pieces in play to be really good. I like their guard play and their mammoth shot blocker down low. Utah is a team that plays to the level of their competition, which is a good thing today.

SDSU has been a hard team for me to figure out this season, until today. There simply is no way that San Diego St. should be a double digit favorite to Utah at home. The talent level simply isn't that big, regardless of whatever the records are of these two teams. Lets face it, this line is set the way it is based on the overall record of Utah. Trust me, Utah is much more dangerous than their overall record shows, just ask UNLV or even New Mexico about how tough Utah is.

This is going to be a grind it out, slow paced game. Scoring is going to be at a premium, and i don't see SDSU winning this game by double digits. SDSU has a huge look ahead game coming up, so i don't know if we will see their best performance tonight. In fact, i'm nearly certain we won't simply because this team has been playing so well of late. I admit, i lost going against the Aztecs in their last game. Unfortunately i backed a team in TCU who simply quit after the first 10 minutes of the game. Their is no quit in UTAH, as their strict coach simply won't let that happen. Utah is finishing their season strong, and they will have success tonight against the Aztecs. Backing the original line movement, i'm backing UTAH +11.5 for 2 UNITS today as one of my "free" plays for today that are actually PREMIUM PLAYS!

N Mex St +6 vs Pacific

I follow both of these teams pretty closely, as i love both the WAC and the BIG WEST conference. I know how much better the WAC is from top to bottom than that of the Big West. We are playing on New Mexico St. for a few reasons today. First, i see no way that Pacific is 6 points better than New Mexico St. ANYWHERE. I realize this is a home game for Pacific, but New Mexico St. isn't going to be bothered at all by their surroundings. On talent alone, this game is a mismatch, as the Aggies should dominate.

However, i realize Pacific is good, and there are reasons why. Pacific plays ELITE defense, and they are very well coached. I'm certain they will be ready to play today. But what about the actual matchups here? I truly believe New Mexico St. has an advantage both in guard play and in the paint. I think New Mexico St. has more than enough size down low to give Pacific fits, especially on the rebounding end. We've backed the Aggies several times this season, and have only lost 1 time. That 1 time proved important, because it showed this Aggies team that they can't just show up. Clearly they are one of the most talented teams on the West Coast, but this game isn't played on paper and the Aggies players realize this now after their debacle in Fresno. I liked how New Mexico St. played against Utah St. this year. The had as much success against them than anyone else in the country. Utah St. is a better version of this Pacific team, so i feel that New Mexico St. will be ready and more than able to handle this game. I also like how New Mexico St. is a team of habit. Year after year, the Aggies get off to slow starts only to finish the season strong in league play. That's exactly what has happened yet again this year. Also, the Aggies have been dominant in BRACKET BUSTER games, so why should i believe anything differently today?

This is going to be a great game, and an ultimate clash in styles. Pacific can really play defense, but what about their offense? Can Pacific really score enough to cover this spread? I just don't see it to be perfectly honest with you. Pacific is struggling right now to score, as they are in a bit of a shooting slump. The Aggies overall defensive numbers aren't great, but they are getting better. I think the athleticism of the Aggies will cause fits for this Pacific offense. I expect the Aggies to play a solid zone, and clog the middle with their size. I think the Aggies athletes and size will also limit the ability of this Pacific team in the rebounding department. Typically, Pacific feasts on the boards thanks to an overall small Big West Conference.

This BRACKET BUSTER matchup was a great draw for the New Mexico St. Aggies. I think they will take advantage of this matchup and likely win this game OUTRIGHT. I'm nearly certain that Pacific won't be able to run away with this game, as it's a 1 possession game at best for Pacific. New Mexico St. ALWAYS plays well in BRACKET BUSTER games, and they will have their full attention today considering the way they played just a few games ago at Fresno St. This is my FAVORITE Bracket Buster game, and we are backing the Aggies +6 for 2 UNITS today! This is a "free play" but is a premium play for me backed by 2 UNITS!

Sac Lawson

California -6 vs Oregon

I feel like I could go back and copy and paste my thoughts on California from the last time these two teams met. These are two teams that mirror each other in style. Small guards, fast paced, three point oriented. The big difference is Cal's talent, and experience. The thing that hurts Oregon the most in this matchup is the fact that they actually WANT to play right into California's hands. Oregon is very young and when they play teams that will run with them they end up getting sloppy, turning the ball over, relying on three pointers etc. California is nothing but seniors in their backcourt, and as a result they can run all day without sacrificing efficiency.

Another key to this one is Cal's recent loss to OSU. No doubt about it, they NEED to bounce back huge tonight after that loss. This is a team that has really fallen off the boat lately, and they need this game against a reeling Oregon team to get back on track for an NCAA berth.

Motivationally, Oregon is in a completely different spot. Ernie Kent will be gone after this season, that's been established. They've had a couple key guys struggling with school, and as a result had some one game suspensions here and there. Kent is giving a lot of playing time to young guys; no doubt this will help development, but when it comes to short term results, we just will not see it from this team. This one should be a massacre guys, If Oregon isn't absolutely lights out from three point range, I don't see them sticking with Cal in any form.

N Mex St +6 vs Pacific

My feeling on this game is simple. I can easily see NMSU heating up from deep and winning this game by double digits, on the flip side if this game is played to Pacific's liking it'll be a close low scoring affair. I definitely don't see Pacific blowing this game open.

Both these teams depend greatly on the three point shot, NMSU does so in a transition setting, where as Pacific does so out of set offensive plays. NMSU has a definite size advantage down low with Rhaman, and if he chooses to assert himself as a force on the glass, Pacific will have no answer. This is a Pacific team in the middle of a conference race right now, and I can see them coming in with less than full focus.

Pacific is a team that keeps the tempo slow by packing the paint and disallowing easy buckets, this formula is successful against bigs, but against teams that shoot the three well, there are definite issues. Look for NMSU to hit some threes, possibly win this game outright!

Lenny Del Genio

Oklahoma St. -2 vs Baylor

At the risk of repeating ourselves, Big 12 home teams have been simply dominant this season. Of the six league games played this past Saturday, hosts won five of them, the exception being Texas A&M's two-point win at Texas Tech. Ironically, the Aggies themselves would go on to lose for the first time at home the following Monday, but did cover for us, against top-ranked Kansas. Still, that makes it just 21 losses by Big 12 home teams all season. 14 of those come from four teams, one of which is actually Kansas State. The other three are bottom feeders Iowa State, Colorado and Nebraska. Four of Saturday's five wins by Big 12 home teams came by 14 or more points. Kansas State beat Colorado by 17, Oklahoma State beat rival Oklahoma by 19 and Texas thumped Nebraska by 40. This Saturday, we expect that we'll be able to take advantage of a short number when Okie State hosts Baylor. The visiting Bears have performed admirably on the road this season, recording outright wins over Arizona St, Arkansas and South Carolina on the non-conference slate as well as covers against Kansas and Texas in conference play. Still, Oklahoma State needs this game more. The Cowboys ability to score is going to present problems for a Baylor defense that had allowed 70 or more points in four straight road games prior to escaping Nebraska with a two-point win on February 10th. Just to show how little the oddsmakers think of the Bears on the road, they were laying just three points in that game. Look for the Cowboys to record a much needed victory Saturday afternoon. Play on Oklahoma State.
