PORTLAND -6 over Denver
Right away you see a +6 on the Nuggets and the inclination would be to grab it. After all, Denver is 15-8 while the 13-10 Trail Blazers are coming off a loss to Sacramento while losing three of past five. Throw all that out the window and jump on this one as soon as possible because it says here that the Nuggets are in no position to compete tonight. First, they hosted the Lakers last night in Denver and lost by four simply because they ran out of gas. It gets worse here as Denver has the almost impossible task of playing three games in three days and traveling all three times. They played at the Clippers on Thursday and then traveled home to host the Lakers last night before heading out again for this one. That's to Los Angeles, back to Denver and out to Portland in three days. They also played in Memphis on Tuesday and hosted the Clippers last Sunday. All in all, this will be the Nuggets fifth game since Sunday and they traveled in all of them. It's almost not fair, as the Trail Blazers have been off for a full day and their last three home games resulted in them winning by 44, 38 and 13 points respectively over Charlotte, Phoenix and Memphis. Expect more of the same as Portland has a huge scheduling edge over a worn-out guest. Play: Portland -6 Risking 2.12 units to win 2).
Golden State +105 over SACRAMENTO
The Kings will win roughly about a third of their games and they'll usually only beat teams that are in difficult spots or ill-preppared for them. Sacramento has talent but in this league you need much more than that. This level is unkind to teams that pay little attention to details and defense. It's unkind to teams with no direction and that is careless with the ball. Sacramento fits right into all of those categories and they'll have nothing but trouble beating teams that pay attention. The Warriors have a reputation of being exactly like that too. They've been one of the most entertaining teams to watch over the years, as they tried to outscore everyone and win games 130-125. They would often win games at home over quality teams and then go on to lose five in a row. Mark Jackson was hired to come in and change the culture. Quielty and slowly, the Warriors are playing a more methodical game with great attention to detail. This is no longer the erratic bunch we've been accustommed to seeing. The Warriors are now 8-12 and they're buying into Jackson's philiosphies. They're gaining steam with three wins in four games and that inlcudes a 19-point over Utah and eight-point win over the Blazers. We also like that the Warriors will take the road for the first time in six games. They're ready to take and test that winning mentality on the road and a loss here would be a serious setback. Jackson will have them ready to beat these “loose cannons”. Play: Golden State +105 (Risking 2 units).

HOUSTON (+2) over Minnesota

Call now: 1.877.332.0077.Minnesota may be playing on its home court, but the Target Center has hardly been an advantage this year for the TWolves, who are 6-4 on the road but just 5-8 at home this season, prompting star Kevin Love to say "I wish we could play more on the road" following the team's second-straight loss at home earlier this week. So, while the oddsmaker continues to price them as home favorites, we'll gladly take advantage. Houston played last night, but is 5-0 ATS this season in back-to-back situatiuons and they were able to jump out to an early 20-point lead last night, enabling head coach Kevin McHale to rest most of his key players in the second half. In fact, none of the team's five starters played more than 30 minutes. The Rockets are also playing with revenge after the TWolves won in Houston on Monday night, so look for a fully focused effort here.
