Louisville at Pittsburgh
Prediction: Pittsburgh

Yes, the Panthers are in the midst of their first-ever six-game losing streak under veteran HC Jamie Dixon but they showed plenty of grit in outscoring unbeaten Syracuse in the second half of Monday?s 71-63 cover (+13.5) loss. And speaking of Dixon, he is a moneymaking 44-24-1 ATS as a conference dog or favorite of 3 or less points, including 17-4 ATS when facing a foe off a loss. The Panthers are also a prowling 14-3 ATS at home as a dog or favorite of 3 or less points off a previous home loss and that ties in nicely to a series history that shows Louisville 0-3 SU and ATS in this matchup when facing a Pitt squad seeking revenge. With Louie staring straight ahead at a double-revenger against Villanova on Wednesday, we recommend a 1-unit play on Pittsburgh.

Mississippi State vs. Vanderbilt
Play: Mississippi State +7

This has turned into a pretty big game for Mississippi St. as it has dropped to 2-2 in the SEC following a loss at Mississippi on Wednesday. It was the second loss in as many SEC road games for the Bulldogs and in order to get back into the conference race, they have to find a way to win on the road. It certainly won't be easy here as they head to one of the toughest venues in the SEC but they have played Vanderbilt very tough the last two meetings at Memorial Gym. Vanderbilt is coming off a very impressive win at Alabama on Thursday as it snapped the Crimson Tide's 10-game home winning streak. This is a quick turnaround for the Commodores however and it will get a test from a similar physical team. After a rough start to the season where Vanderbilt lost three home games, things have turned around as the Commodores have won their last eight games. A winning streak like this may seem tough to go against but it provides excellent value the other way. Despite having four players in double-figures, the Bulldogs could not get past rival Mississippi. Some of the problems were their own while others were out of their control. The Rebels shot 50 percent from the floor while committing only five turnovers so the efficiency of the offense hurt Mississippi St. But of the Bulldogs 61 shots taken, 29 were from behind the arc and there is no way they can win doing that. Against Vanderbilt, patience will be the key. The Commodores tend to have size advantages down low most night but that won't be the case here. Forwards Renardo Sidney and Arnett Moultrie will be all over Vanderbilt center Festus Ezeli who is still slow in coming back from his knee injury and suspension. That makes the perimeter defense paramount as Vanderbilt is shooting a potent 46.1 percent from long range over its last five games. Mississippi St. is an extremely talented team that will keep this one close throughout.

CS Fullerton vs Cal Irvine
Pick: Cal Irvine

The Cal State Fullerton Titans are just 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a losing straight record. This is the star of a five-game homestand for Irvine. The teams split last season with UCI winning 85-78 in the Bren Center and Fullerton prevailing 80-74 at Titan Gym. The Anteaters are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games vs. a team with a winning percentage above .600, so grab the home court. Play Cal Irvine.

Kansas at Texas
Play: Kansas

The Jayhawks trounced the Baylor Bears at Phog Allen Fieldhouse last time out. It may be tempting for some to go against KU off the big win, but I believe it's just another momentum builder for Bill Self's squad, entering play on an 8-game win streak. Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor scored 28 and 27 points respectively in the win over Baylor. Robinson has been a man among boys this season, averaging 17.8 ppg and 12.3 rpg. One of the biggest question marks about this team before the season began was how well their frontcourt would fare. Robinson, along with some help from C) Jeff Withey have put those fears aside. We knew the backcourt was going to be just fine. So far, KU has 3 guards averaging between 16.2 ppg and 9.4 ppg with Tyshawn Taylor leading the way. Taylor and Elijah Johnson average a combined 9 apg and put pressure on opposing backcourts from start to finish. The Jayhawks already own wins over Ohio State and Baylor and they're 5-0 in Big-12 play. While Texas owns an athletic and quick-learning basketball team, the fact is, they're still learning. The Longhorns had to replace all 5 of last year's starters and while I believe they could be a dangerous conf tourney team in March, I expect them to experience some growing pains in this one. I'm laying the points with Kansas on Saturday afternoon.

Michigan vs. Arkansas
Play: Arkansas Pk

The Razorbacks are 13-0 at home this season and have won and covered 4 of the 6 times as a home favorite of 3 or less. They are 5-1 at home the last 3 years when the total is 135 to 139.5 and have won 6 of 8 vs teams who allow 65 or less points per game. They catch Michigan off a Big win over in state rival Michigan St and that could leave them flat for this one. The Wolverines have lost 4 of the last 6 vs SEC Teams and are 2-14 straight upon the road when the total is 135 to 139.5 the past few seasons. As a road dog of 3 or less they are 5-13 straight up and ats. Look for Arkansas to get the win as a 1-2 point favorite here today.

Minnesota @ Utah
PICK: Utah -6.5

Off a (rare) National TV appearance (and last-second win, no less) last night, I feel that a play against Minnesota is in order for Saturday night. Friday night saw the T'wolves rally from a double digit deficit to defeat the Clippers on the road, 101-98 on a last second three-pointer by Kevin Love. An inevitable letdown is only magnified by the fact they must quickly turnaround and head to the higher altitude to face a Jazz squad rested and ready off a three-point home loss to defending champ Dallas Thursday night on TNT. It was only Utah's second home loss of the season, both coming by three points. Minnesota was averaging just 90 PPG on the road coming into last night's tilt. They are 0-3 SU/ATS last three visits here & w/ a 2-11 ATS mark in Saturday road games, I don't see much changing. Utah is one of the hardest places to play in the league w/ out rest.

Arkansas-Little Rock vs. Western Kentucky
Play: Arkansas-Little Rock

ARK LR is 5-1 in Conference Play. The Trojans are 10-1 ATS their L11 and come into this contest with confidence as they face a young, mistake-prone W KY team. UALR 6'10 Forward, Will Neighbour will score at will and own the paint here as the Hilltoppers leading rebounder is just 6'3''. W KY is just 1-5 in the Conference and a dismal 6-12 ATS this season. The favorite is 4-1 ATS the L5 meetings. The Trojans are 9-1 ATS their L10 games played vs. the Sun Belt, 16-5-1 ATS their L22 games played on the road, and 20-8-1 ATS their L29 games played overall. The Hilltoppers are 1-4 ATS their L5 vs. the Sun Belt, 7-19 ATS their L26 home games, and 1-4 ATS their L5 overall. Take Arkansas Little Rock.

1 Unit New York Knicks +2.5

Look for the Knicks to bring their 5-game losing streak to an end tonight. This will be Denver's 4th road game in 5 days, which puts it in an extremely difficult spot physically considering its uptempo style of play. The Nuggets, who played at Washington last night, are just 56-75 ATS when playing on back-to-back days under coach Karl. They have lost by an average score of 105.6 to 102.9 in this situation. This will be New York's third game in 4 days, but it's easier to bounce back when enjoying the comforts of home. It is certainly worth noting that the Knicks are 53-33 ATS when playing their 3rd game in 4 days under coach D'Antoni. They are only losing by an average of 0.6 points in these games. These two have split the last 4 meetings with each team winning on its home floor. New York's two losses in this stretch have come by just 3 and 2 points. The Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite and 0-5 ATS in the last 5 games in this series. This is the Knicks' last home game before it plays 4 in a row on the road so I expect an inspired effort in an attempt to end their skid. Take the points.

ANDREW LANGE

Arizona at Colorado
Play: Colorado -1.5

Arizona may be 4-2 in the PAC-12 but I haven't been impressive with what I've seen. The offense has a very difficult time getting open looks and it shows in the numbers vs. league opponents: 9th offensive efficiency, 8th effective FG%, 11th 2-point FG%. That's not going to get it done on the road vs. comparable competition on a consistent basis. Defensively, UA's numbers look fantastic vs. league opponents: 1st defensive efficiency, 1st effective FG%, 1st 3-point defense. But it is obvious those numbers are skewed some because the Wildcats have yet to face Washington, California, Stanford, Washington State and Colorado – five offenses that have the ability to score unlike Arizona State, USC and Utah. Colorado meanwhile has played a tough PAC-12 schedule when it comes to opposing offenses yet they surprisingly rank right behind Arizona in a bevy of defensive categories. The Buffaloes are more efficient on the offensive end and have a strong enough home court where anything less than Arizona’s A-game should mean a W for the Buffs. All in all, this is a play against the perception that Arizona is somehow similar to last year's squad when in reality they aren't even close. And while Colorado isn't putting up 80+ on a nightly basis, the fact that they are defending and playing at a more moderate pace actually makes them a lot more trust worthy in a pick 'em type situation.

Matt Rivers

Clemson (-8.5) to Georgia Tech.

Reasoning: Why not continue to fade this dismal Georgia Tech team? If you want to see an example of a program that is in the midst of free falling there is no better one than the Yellow Jackets.

I backed Virginia on Thursday and expected the Cavaliers to cover the handful but can’t say that I thought they would win by the amount they did. For Brian Gregory’s squad to fall 70-38 in at least their home state, at Philips Arena, is an absolute abomination. Tech is now 8-10 overall, have lost six of their last seven games and that includes defeats against Mercer and Fordham along with a 25 point home blowout against Alabama.

Tech is a nomad of a squad thanks to the rebuilding of Alexander Memorial Coliseum and has no home court advantage whatsoever. They also have negative momentum in their corner and are as non-confident of a team as there is in the country. Therefore to now travel to Littlejohn Coliseum just can’t be conducive to much success. A few weeks ago these guys did somehow man up and get an outright as a similar dog in Raleigh against NC State but I just don’t see lightning striking twice.

Clemson isn’t great and probably is fielding their weakest team in years. But the program is always tough at home and we saw just that in the 20-point blowout win against a pretty good Florida State team.

Andre Young, Tanner Smith and the home Tigers should continue Tech’s misery and therefore in the end I’m willing to eat some chalk and expect a 76-58 type of a final.

Wake Forest vs. Boston College
Play: Wake Forest

Wake is on three straight conference losses so they really need this game while Boston College has improved in conference play, but I'm still not confident in this young bunch that lost earlier at home to Umass, Boston U, Harvard, and Rhode Island. Wake Forest is a young team too, and that's been the biggest reason for their struggles, but they actually have more experience than Boston College so expect that to play dividends. BC is among the worst in Rebounding the ball 320nd in the nation in rebound % and they should have a difficult time matching up with Wake Forest's center Ty Walker who is 7 foot tall. Wake is 15-6-1 ATS in their last 22 as a dog .5 to 6.5. Take the Deacons

1 Unit Sacramento Kings +9.5

The Kings enter this contest with plenty of momentum and confidence after back-to-back upset wins over the Pacers and Spurs, and they'll be lacking no motivation against a Memphis team that embarrassed them by 17 points on Jan. 3. The Kings are an impressive 27-14 ATS when looking to avenge a same season loss since the beginning of last season. They are only losing by an average of 2.8 points in this situation. Take the Kin

Syracuse vs. Notre Dame
Play: Notre Dame +9

The Fighting Irish will want to start a new streak at home, but Syracuse is 3-2 SU and ATS in their last five trips to South Bend and they’re 4-0 ATS away from home this season. The Fighting Irish don’t have the players that they have had in recent years, and their numbers are down (163rd in points, 185th in field-goal percentage and 213th in rebounding). However, numbers don’t play the game and in the last week, we’ve seen North Carolina and Baylor get blown out on the road (although to be fair, the Bears lost to a top-10 team at Kansas). Look for an inspired effort from the Fighting Irish as Notre Dame claims a major upset.
