The Badgers went from being perfect and ranked inside the Top 5 to having to accept back-to-back losses in the Big Ten. Now they get a road date with a middle-of-the-road Boilermakers team, and it will be interesting to see how Bo Ryan’s team responds. I think Wisky plays well and shows a good effort here in West Lafayette. Purdue is certainly capable of pushing the Badgers here, but I think after a couple of losses this Wisconsin team turns in a really good game and nets a win and cover on the road. Lay the points with the road squad in this Big Ten clash.

Jim Feist

Washington Wizards at Utah Jazz
Pick: Washington Wizards

Washington is a young team that has crept up to the No. 5 seed in the West. Guard John Wall (20 ppg) and Bradley Beal (17 ppg) are fine offensive players. Those two are 23 and 20 years old, good building blocks. The defense needs some work but is very good at forcing turnovers with their quickness, 6th in the NBA in turnovers. They just won 3 in a row winning twice as a dog against the Bulls and Miami Heat. The young Wizards are 22-10 ATS in their last 32 games playing on no days rest and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 road games. Utah has all kinds of problems, 27th in the NBA in points scored, 16th in points allowed. The Jazz are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 games playing on 3 or more days rest as well as 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 home games. And when these teams meet the road team is 12-5-1 ATS in the last 18 meetings, plus the Wizards are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Utah.

Indiana vs. Denver
Play: Under 201½

The Pacers have been nothing but fantastic this season, including on the road. Their defense never thwarts, but their offense sometimes can struggle, in particular on the road, where they have failed to hit triple digits most of their away games. The Nuggets can hit the offensive glass well enough to keep Indiana honest. Behind their "Manimal" Kenneth Faried he will be a concern, to contain off the boards. On the break, they need to stop and make the pass, moving the ball on the break is necessary for victory, to open it up vs this stingy D. Ty Lawson is excellent finding his players in stride, and makes the game change completely. Hibbert has to make sure that Kenneth Faried doesn’t get 2nd opportunities off the offensive glass, but the athletic Faried is going to up for the challenge. The Pacers defense is tough and I see both teams scoring in the mid- 90's here on Saturday night.

Eastern Kentucky vs. Belmont
Play: Belmont -5½

No matter what league they are in the Bruins don't like losing so they will be extra revved up to take on Eastern Kentucky on their own homecourt. I am not deterred by the fact that they have covered just once at home this season as their new league is tougher and the oddsmakers are going to need some time to adjust. This is a super efficient team with only one home loss...to VCU, and you know I like those guys. Take the Bruins to exact their revenge.

Clippers vs. Raptors
Play: Under 199½

This is the Clippers 6th road game now out East and their 3rd road game in 4 days. It is always hard to travel to Toronto on back-to-backs also. Without Chris Paul in the lineup, I look for a slower paced game for the Clippers. The UNDER is 4-1 the last 5 matchups between these two teams. The one game that went OVER was when the total was 183.5 and the final points scored were 194. Looking deeper, out of the last 10 matchups, only 2 games have went over 200 total points. Toronto is only averaging 94 ppg their last 5 games, shooting 43% from the floor and this is also their 3rd game in 4 nights. I do not expect either team to be in a hurry to push the pace and we should see some tired legs as well by the time the 4th quarter comes along. I see this game finishing with a final score in the 94-92 range for a total in the 186-188 point range. Play this game UNDER as both teams will feel the effects of playing their 3rd game in 4 nights.

Michigan State -5

This rivalry battle is for 1st place in the Big 10 as each enters undefeated in the league. 7th year Michigan HC Belein has made remarkable adjustments for not only the loss of his starting backcourt from last year's Final Four team, but also for the loss of big man McGary (out with back surgery). But, don't tell Spartan HC Izzo about injury problems. Out for tonight's' game is interior force Dawson and it is not likely that big man Payne will return from his foot injury. But what the Spartans do have is the coaching of Izzo and 4 days to prepare, which has resulted in a record at home of 45-6 ATS if the Spartans are favored by 5 to 11 points and have 4 or more days rest.

Marc Lawrence

Iowa vs. Northwestern
Pick: Northwestern

The Hawkeyes have been solid this season, with a 4-1 mark in the tough Big Ten and a 15-3 record overall at press time. Following a huge win over Ohio State, Iowa had a week off before pummeling Minnesota with a big second half last Sunday as Fran McCaffery got 43 points from his bench in the win over the Gophers. An important matchup with Michigan presents itself on Wednesday, and with a monster showdown versus conference-leading Michigan State looming, it will be difficult for the Hawkeyes to focus against the 9-10 Wildcats here – especially since Iowa is 3-7 ATS after the Wolverines and 0-4 SUATS on the road before meeting the Spartans. But taking Northwestern lightly would be a big mistake, even though the Hawkeyes drilled Northwestern 93-67 earlier this season in Iowa City. The Wildcats have popped up with a couple of big defensive efforts lately, including last Saturday’s 54-47 road upset of the Hoosiers at Assembly Hall, as they held Indiana to just 25% shooting. Senior Drew Crawford leads the way for the Wildcats, averaging 15.1 PPG and 7.2 RPG. In this series, Northwestern is 3-0-1 ATS against Iowa when the Hawkeyes own a .750 or better win percentage, and after unexpected wins in January over Illinois and Indiana, Chris Collins will try to complete the “I” trifecta with an upset at Welsh-Ryan Arena in this late-morning meeting. We recommend a 1-unit play on Northwestern.

Jack Jones

Iowa State -8.5

Off three straight losses, I look for No. 16 Iowa State (14-3) to come out fired up and ready to go at Hilton Coliseum Saturday. This is one of the toughest places in the country to play, and I look for the home crowd to give the Cyclones the added push they need to bounce back with a double-digit blowout.

Iowa State has been superb at home this season, going 8-1 while outscoring opponents by an average of 22.8 points per game. It has home wins over the likes of Iowa and Michigan, with its only loss coming at the hands of Kansas, which is playing as well as anyone in the country.

That's the same Kansas team that topped Kansas State 86-60 in Lawrence on January 11. Kansas State is just 1-2 in true road games this season with its only win coming against Big 12 bottom feeder, TCU. The Wildcats will not be ready for the atmosphere they're about to face in Ames.

The Cyclones are a perfect 6-0 ATS in Saturday home games over the last two seasons, winning by 18.2 points per game. Iowa State is 21-8 ATS in its last 29 home games overall. The Cyclones are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 Saturday games. Iowa State is 7-1-1 ATS in its last nine meetings with Kansas State, including 5-0-1 ATS in its last six home meetings. Bet the Cyclones Saturday.

VCU vs. La Salle
Play:La Salle +3½

The Explorers won 69-61 last year at home. Lasalle has experienced guards and should be able to handle the pressure of the Rams. Lasalle is off a loss and should bounce back after their guards only shot 30% in the loss.

Auburn vs. Arkansas
Play: Arkansas -11½

Arkansas is hosting Auburn here tonight. The Tigers have been dismal on the road and below we see that they are 0-9 and 1-8 ats on the road when playing off a loss. They have lost 9 of the last 10 here and take on an Arkansas team that has won 24 of the last 25 here and is ranked 14th in the nation in home scoring Offesne. That spells trouble for an Auburn team that ranks among the worst in the nation in road defense at 315. Arkansas is a solid 15-4 to the spread at home off a road dog loss and they should rebound nicely off a pair of road losses. The Razorbacks won their prior home game against Kentucky and played Florida to the end here this season. The Winner is 14-1 to the spread in lined games involving Arkansas this year. This is much easier task. Look for Arkansas to coast to a win and cover.

Tennessee vs. Florida
Pick: Tennessee

Tennessee was a winner for me last Saturday, but barely. They covered by a half point at Kentucky, but really the game was a lot closer than that as the underdog Vols led outright for much of the first half. Poor shooting, 41% overall including 2 of 13 from three-point range eventually doomed UT as did the free-throw line where they were 16 of 23 compared to 23 of 24 for Kentucky.

The Vols bounced back this week w/ a hard-fought 7-point win over Arkansas. That was on Tuesday. Florida played Arkansas two days later and won too, covering by just one point as I had the Hogs at home. The Gators did not shoot particularly well (just 38% overall), but did make 10 three-pointers and dominated the boards against the SEC's worst rebounding team.

Tennessee leads the conference in rebounding margin and all of its six losses this year have come by single digits. As I discussed Thursday, Florida has won a number of close games this year w/ three of their last four coming by seven points or less. They are 8-2 in games decided by single digits this year, a far cry from their 0-6 SU record in such games last year. Tennessee has beaten Florida each of the last three times they have met.

Buffalo vs. Columbus
Pick: Columbus

The Blue Jackets have been unstoppable over the past two weeks, winning eight in a row. They will host the NHL's worst team tonight, as the Buffalo Sabres are in town.

Buffalo has lost five straight, and the Sabres have only won four games on the road the entire season. They have also lost all three meetings with Columbus since 2011.

The Sabres are ranked last in the NHL in scoring, averaging just 1.8 goals per game. Goals might be hard to come by tonight, as last year's Vezina winner hasn't lost since he returned to the lineup for Columbus in early January.

Sergei Bobrovsky is now 10-5 with a 2.18 GAA at home this season, and that comes after a slow start. He's 5-0 with a 1.60 GAA in his last five starts on home ice.

Neither one of these teams is particularly good with the man-advantage, but Buffalo is ranked 29th in the league, clicking at just 14% this season.

I don't expect the Sabres to bring enough intensity to compete in Columbus tonight, and the home team should grind out it's ninth straight win in a low scoring affair.

Willing to lay a few points with the Cyclones on their home floor in Ames as they take on the visiting Wildcats of Kansas State.

K-State did everything but win their game on Tuesday night in Austin, as the Wildcats were edged by 3 points in the closing minute of play against the Texas Longhorns in a game they did indeed cover as the underdog.

I expect Kansas State to be just a little flat as they head to Hilton Coliseum to take on a desperate - but rested - Iowa State team that has not played since their loss last Saturday at Texas. Fred Hoiberg's team has now lost 3 in a row straight up and against the spread, but do sport an 8-1 straight up mark on their home floor, and a 5-2 against the spread mark at home as well.

These conference-rivals have split their last 6 series meetings straight up, but a closer look shows Iowa State with wins in 3 of the last 4 meetings, and the home team enjoying a 9-3-1 spread advantage the last 13 times the schools have clashed.

Look for Iowa State to end their skid at 3 with the win and cover at home today.

2* IOWA STATE

Villanova suffered its second loss of the season when its got absolutely hammered by Creighton, 96-68, in Philadelphia on Monday. The visiting Blue Jays canned a Big East-record 21 three-pointers in the game.

Pretty safe to say host Marquette, a team that's 14-for-56 shooting from downtown the past three games - and one that is averaging just 4.7 three-pointers a game, good for 305th in the nation - will not be repeating Creighton's sharp-shooting success

The Golden Eagles are coming off an 80-72 OT win at short-handed Georgetown after dropping a 12-point decision at Butler, a team that had lost its previous five games.

Villanova's loss on Monday was the worst ever during coach Jay Wright's tenure. But it was simply one of those games and today you take advantage of the reduced price on the Wildcats as they cash in Milwaukee against Marquette.
