Jim Feist

T-Wolves at Wizards
Pick: Wizards

Minnesota is atrocious on the road, last in the NBA in points allowed. The Timberwolves are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. This is a tough situational spot for the thin Minnesota bench, playing their 4th game in 5 nights, while Washington is rested. Minnesota is 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games as an underdog. The home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the favorite is 13-4 ATS in the last 17 meetings. Play the Wizards.

Marc Lawrence

Michigan State @ Michigan
PICK: Michigan State

Tom Izzo’s team sure has a problem with prosperity. Following two crucial wins over Illinois and Minnesota that kept the Spartans in the running for an NCAA Tournament bid, Michigan State was absolutely squashed at home by Purdue, an embarrassing 20-point blowout that placed them precariously back atop the infamous ‘Bubble.’ Now with 12 losses on the season, Sparty badly needs a win here to take a splash of momentum into the Big Ten tourney – and avenge an earlier 61-57 setback to the Wolverines. We’ve pointed out Izzo’s success in revenge games at this juncture of the season (26-13 SU and 27-11-1 ATS from Game 26 out) but few have been bigger than this one. Despite exhibiting some long-awaited improvement under head coach John Beilein, Michigan’s buzzer-beater defeat to Wisconsin last week puts the Maize-and-Blue on equally shaky post-season ground with the Spartans. Besides the overwhelming 18-4 SU series edge owned by the visitors, our database informs us that Michigan is just 5-9 ATS in Last Home Games, including 1-4 ATS versus a foe with same-season revenge for a loss of 4 or more points. Factor in MSU’s superior strength of schedule numbers and we’ll stick with the neighborhood bully in this rivalry deluxe. Spartans remain in the hunt as they silence the crowd at Crisler Arena. We recommend a 1-unit play on Michigan State.

Matt Fargo

Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma
PICK: Oklahoma

This is a good number for Oklahoma in what will be its final home game off the season. The Sooners have been a major disappointment of late as they have dropped eight straight games which cane after a four-game winning streak to improve them to 4-3 in the Big XII. The majority of this recent damage has been on the road as five of the eight losses have come on the road. The three home losses were by a point to Nebraska and to conference co-leaders Kansas and Texas which is nothing to be ashamed of.

Oklahoma St. has arguably had a more disappointing season even though it has a better record than Oklahoma. The Cowboys came into the season expected to compete for an upper-tier finish in the Big XII but internal issues have taken the life out of them. Forward Darrell Williams was suspended indefinitely because of sexual assault charges following the first meeting against Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. went on to lose its next four games, albeit against some solid opponents.

The Cowboys have bounced back with two straight wins but both of those games came at home where they are 13-2 on the season. On the other hand, they are 2-8 on the road which includes a 0-7 in the conference and now they are being asked to lay points on the road. Oklahoma is 11-4 at home this season so the Sooners still have a solid home floor edge even though it has been a tough overall season. They have wins over Baylor and Colorado and those teams are both a game better than the Cowboys.

This is the second edition of the “Bedlam” series and on top of it, the Sooners will be playing for revenge from the loss last month. It is the last home game, making it Senior Day and even though there is only one senior on the roster, Cade Davis is the leading scorer. Maybe even more emotional for this game is that it will be the last home game for the longtime voice of Sooner football and basketball, Bob Barry, who has been announcing games for 50 years. Sending him out a winner is just as important. 3* Oklahoma Sooners

Clemson - over Virginia Tech

Clemson is playing for its NCAA tournament life on Saturday as the Tigers could not come up with the upset over Duke earlier in the week. Virginia Tech beat Duke last weekend but then had a horrendous letdown performance with a 15 point home loss to Boston College during the week. The Hokies appear safe for a tournament spot but a loss today and an early conference tournament exit might mean another uncomfortable Selection Sunday for the Hokies. Virginia Tech has three road wins in conference play but also lost to Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Boston College away from home, teams that Clemson can make a case for being much tougher than. The Tigers have ten losses but they have mainly come against quality competition and the lone home losses came to Michigan and North Carolina. Clemson is 14-2 S/U at home while Virginia Tech is just 4-5 in road games. While there is urgency for Clemson to get this win the pressure may fall on the very thin and banged up Hokies who have been through this scenario before and perhaps can feel their position slipping away. Look for a very inspired effort from the home team and Virginia Tech has not proven it can beat a quality team on the road.

Michigan State at Michigan
Prediction: Michigan

Great line value with the Wolverines here as the linesmakers continue to overvalue the under-achieving Spartans. Michigan has quietly put together a nice string of games here down the stretch and could be playing for an invite to the NCAA Tournament today. Michigan State should be focused on the Big Ten Tournament, as their tournament bid lies solely on that performance. Wolverines have won seven of their last ten overall with those losses coming by 1 points against Wisconsin, 2 points at Illinois, and a SU loss but ATS cover vs. #1 Ohio State. They can win at home against a disinterested Spartans team today! 5* Play on Michigan.

Hollywood Sports

Florida International at Denver
Prediction: Denver

The Sun Belt Conference Tournament offers Denver (13-16) the opportunity to start anew in the post-season after ending the season on a three-game losing streak. In mid-January, the Pioneers were the toast of the Sun Belt riding an eight-game winning streak. But this club lost seven of their last ten games to finish 5th in the conference with a 9-7 record. But their losses to Arkansas-Little Rock and Louisiana-Lafayette over this stretch were in overtime while they also lost to South Alabama by just one point. These close losses should even out with some wins over time. The deeper metrics regarding this team is that their net Efficiency Margin regarding Points-Per-Possession in conference place is +0.08 (Offense: 1.05 PPP; Defense: 0.97 PPP) which is actually the top mark in the conference. Florida International (10-18), on the other hand, ranks 10th in the conference with their Efficiency Margin of -0.04 (Offense: 1.06 PPP; Defense: 1.10 PPP). The Golden Panthers had lost five games in a row before defeating Troy by an 83-76 score in overtime. But they are unlikely to challenge Denver in this contest as the Pioneers have covered 4 of their last 5 games against teams with a winning percentage below 40%. With the opportunity of a fresh start in the tournament, look for Denver to prove that their PPP efficiency is indicative that they are one of the best teams in the league. Lay the points with Denver.

VEGAS EXPERTS

Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz

The Jazz beat the Kings 107-104 on February 7th. Since that time, they have lost eight of nine games, their former head coach of 23 years and traded away their best player, Deron Williams. Still, they have enough pieces to beat Sacramento again and earn the cover. The Kings are queens on the road and an 0-7 SU and ATS run at home by Utah is downright unfathomable, no matter who is in the uniform. The franchise is 8-1 ATS off an outright division loss as a favorite, including 3-0 ATS this season.

Play on: Utah

UTEP vs. SMU
Play: UTEP -2

The Miners come in here having taken the last 5 in the series vs SMU. They are 4-0 after scoring 80 or more points and 12-5 vs winning teams. SMU is just 3-9 straight up and ats since 1997 as a home dog of 3 or less. Over the last 3 years they are 2-11 in the second half vs winning teams. Look for UTEP To get the win and cover here tonight.

UCLA vs. Washington St
Play: UCLA -1½

UCLA entered the week as arguably the hottest team in the Pac-10 however a mid-week loss to Washington setback any hopes of winning the conference championship. WSU has its own issues, the biggest one being All-World Klay Thompson’s marijuana arrest and suspension. The loss of Thompson could not have come at a worse time. The Cougars are currently on the wrong side of the bubble. The UCLA star right now is "Mr." Honeycutt a legit NBA prospect who is on fire right now and fueled a 20-6 run that propelled the Bruins to a 70-61 come-from-behind win over Washington State at Pauley Pavilion earlier in the season. I look for a similar scoreline today. UCLA is unbeaten on Saturday games this year going 8-0. With a win today the Bruins will earn the No. 2 seed in the Pac 10 tourney. (Lots to play for) Trends I like for this one include, Bruins are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. WAST are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Sat. games. Cougars are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog.

1 Unit on Connecticut Huskies -2.5

UConn hasn't played as well as it would have liked down the stretch, but I fully expect the Huskies to rise to the occasion on senior day. UConn enjoys one of the best home courts in the nation. This season, the Huskies are 13-3 at home with an average margin of victory of 11.9 points. Notre Dame knows firsthand how difficult it is to win at UConn. That's because the Irish have lost their last 7 on the road in this series. The Irish are very susceptible on the road because of their reliance on the 3-point shot. I have to think they didn't save enough threes for this one after making 20 against Villanova Monday. The Fighting Irish are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog, 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games versus a team with a winning home record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog of 6.5 points or less. In addition, we can't ignore the fact that Notre Dame is just 1-10 ATS under coach Brey following a blowout win by 20 points or more. Expect the Huskies to do a good job of defending the 3-point stripe as they get the win and cover this afternoon. Lay the number.

EZWINNERS

Kansas Jayhawks -2.5

Everyone is aware of Missouri's road woes in conference play this season but the Tigers are the only Big XII team that is undefeated at home, but I expect that to change in this game. Kansas has dominated this series winning nine out of the last ten meetings and they beat the Tigers by 17 points in Lawrence earlier in the season. I don't expect home court advantage to make that much of a difference this time around. Missouri is not a strong rebounding team and Kansas took full advantage by out rebounding the Tigers by 18 rebounds in the first meeting and I expect the same result this time around. The Jayhawks are 6-0 against the spread in the last six meetings and I look for that to continue. Lay the points.

Cajun Sports

Florida vs. Vanderbilt
Play: Vanderbilt -3½

It is Senior Night at Memorial Gym and home court has been an advantage for SEC teams this season. Vanderbilt has been especially strong at home posting a record of 14-2 straight up at Memorial during the 2010-11 campaign. The Gators ended the month of February on a 6-1 run and are coming off a huge win over Alabama 78 to 51 on Tuesday night. The Commodores are on a 6-2 SU and ATS run of their own their last eight times to post. Vandy is a solid 7-1 against the spread as an underdog or favorite in this price range this season. These teams have already met once this season and it took overtime to decide the contest with Florida escaping with a four-point victory in Gainesville. Vanderbilt is 10-4 straight up and against the number when playing with series revenge in the Music City. The Commodores are 28-14 ATS after a loss by 6 points or less and 15-4 ATS off a road cover where the team lost straight up as an underdog since 1997. Lay the short number with the host as Vanderbilt avenges the OT loss in Gainesville with a solid victory on Saturday.

Brent Brooks

Xavier, Ohio -4.5

The Bilikens prevailed against the Dukes with a spread about this size and now face an even stronger foe. Xavier is a tournament team that has gone from one dimensional (Tu Holloway) to a balanced offense. The Bilikens focus on defense and slowing the game down to give themselves a chance. SLU's turnover rate will be an issue in this game. Xavier will overwhelm them in the second half.

Marquette +1

Seton Hall's win over St John's was due in part to an uncharacteristically great showing from beyond the arc. The Pirates have a mistaken ridden track record this year and match up against a much more talented and deeper team fighting for credibility in the eyes of the selection committee. Jae Crowder, DJO, and the rest of the Eagles will be too much for the Pirates over 40 minutes.

Vanderbilt / Florida Over 137.5

Projecting the game goes into the low to mid 140s. Both sides stocked with offensive weapons with above average tempos. Should be a shootout.

San Jose St. +10

While Boise has a front court size advantage, they are an up tempo team and this game will be about offense on both sides. SJSU had won four in a row prior to their home loss by 6 to Hawaii and were perhaps looking ahead to the rematch/revenge spot against the Broncos. The Spartans fell to Boise 102-101 in four overtimes way back on Jan 6th. Grabbing Oliver and company here to be motivated to make a game of it. 1* Free Play on SJSU.

Colorado St. +12

The Rams played the Aztecs in a one possession game at their own building and now get 12 on the road? Yes, SDSU has had a great season but this is a complete over valuation of the home team. The Rams have too much balance and experience to be given this many points. This will be a competitive game. Top ten ranking and the press about Fisher's admittedly great coaching effort has inflated this line. Grab the Rams for a 2* Free Play.
