Minnesota vs. Wisconsin
Play: Wisconsin -8½

I believe the Gophers are at the wrong place at the wrong time here.

While they failed to cover, the Badgers did get back on track at home last time out. They beat Michigan State by a score of 60-58. That was preceded by a blowout win at Illinois.
Their home losing streak in the rear view mirror, the Badgers should bring some positive momentum into this evening's game.

The fact that the Gophers beat them at Minnesota should provide plenty of motivation. Not that they should need any for a big home game on ESPN.

The Gophers have really struggled on the road in conference play and are 0-4 SU/ATS their last four away from Minnesota. While they kept it close in losses at Purdue and Nebraska, they lost by double-digits at Michigan State and Iowa.

With difficult road games at Michigan and at Iowa on deck, the Badgers know they need to take care of business here. They've mostly had their way with the Gophers here over the years and a blowout win won't surprise. Consider laying the points.

Creighton vs. Butler
Play: Creighton -8

The Blue Jays crushed Butler 88-60 in Omaha in January, but I don't expect a revenge winner in this one. The Jays are off a tough loss at MSG against St. John's. Steve Lavin did a terrific job in both games against the Jays, "letting" Doug McDermott gets his, but not letting the supporting role players go off. That meant a little humble pie for Ethan Wragge, Jahenns Manigat, and Will Artino. But Lavin has the individual talent to play that type of game against the Jays, while this season's Butler roster does not. Creighton has followed their last two losses with blowout wins by 17 points at Long Beach State and by a ridiculous 28 points at Villanova. They have now covered 17 of their last 25 off a SU loss. And yes, the Jays have a home date with Villanova on Sunday, but I expect the recent loss to St. John's to keep them focused in this one. Butler enters on a 2-8 ATS slide in Big East play and suffer more growing pains in their new conference. I'm recommending a play on Creighton minus the points on Thursday.

Arkansas vs. Missouri
Play: Missouri -5

Missouri has had a rough go of it lately as it is coming off three straight losses. It’s important to remember that Missouri is still a pretty good team and should be able to get a nice win at home here. The Tigers have lost two of three straight but two of those games where on the road and two of the three were to high ranked opponents in Florida and Kentucky. Missouri is 10-2 SU in home games this season and is outscoring opponents by an average of 10.3 points a game. Arkansas meanwhile is just 1-4 SU and 1-3 ATS in true road games this season. As an underdog, the Razorbacks are just `1-4SU and just 1-4 ATS in conference games as well this season. Missouri earned a four point victory at Arkansas back on January 28th. Ernest Ross and Jabari Brown each had 24 points in the victory. Missouri is on the bubble for the NCAA tourney and every games counts from here on out. I think the Tigers thing they deserve to be there and will be here to prove it with another nice home win. Lay the points with Missouri.

Thunder vs. Lakers
Play: Over 207

Oklahoma City has plenty of offensive punch with Kevin Durant, 5th in the NBA in scoring. They can play any style and the over is 7-2 in the Thunder's last 9 vs. a team with a losing record, plus 9-4 over the total against the NBA Pacific division. Oklahoma City is off an impressive 98-95 victory over Portland on Tuesday night as Kevin Durant had 36 points and 10 rebounds. They beat Portland the last game as Durant had 36 points, even tough the other starters were 1-of-18 from the floor in the first half and fourth quarter combined! They won't do that against this awful LA defense. That offense gets to face a terrible LA defense, one ranked 29th in points allowed, on a 10-5 run over the total. The over is 8-3 in the Lakers last 10 games following a loss and 22-9 over the total against the NBA Northwest division. And when these teams meet the over is 6-2 in the last eight meetings.

Denver vs. IUPU-Indianapolis
Play: Denver -9½

Denver has won and covered all 3 times as a road favorite from -9 to -12 and has handled losing teams winning 29 of 34. They are 12-3 ats of late in February games and flattened IUPU by nearly 20 at home earlier in the season. Indiana- Purdue University is 0-17 to the spread in lined home games, 0-6 ats after scoring 60 or less and has failed to cover 9 of the last 13 vs winning teams. When playing with revenge for a loss by 19 or more they are 2-17 and a lousy 7-26 ats off a conference loss. Look for Denver to coast in this one.

Minnesota vs. Wisconsin
Play: Minnesota +8½

Minnesota has played all their conference road games tough except one bad loss to Iowa which was expected. It was a sandwich game for the Gophers after they beat Ohio State and had a home game on deck vs. Wisconsin.

For Wisconsin, they are now 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games. Their defense is not the typical Wisconsin defense and therefore they should not be allowed to lay this large number tonight. When comparing shooting percentages and other major statistics, these two teams matchup very evenly. Minnesota is big in the paint and can have the advantage down there tonight.

In the first game, Minnesota won the game easily 81-68. Minnesota shot the ball better and out rebounded Wisconsin easily and I do not see why this line should be this high tonight. Andre Hollins got injured in this game also and they still beat Wisconsin by 13. Hollins is back now and he is averaging 14.5 ppg and is a solid perimeter shooter. Look for the Gophers to keep this one closer than what the linesmakers expect.

Head-to-Head Trends:
Minnesota is 3-0-1 ATS in the last 4 meetings
Minnesota is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Wisconsin

Alex Smart

Creighton vs. Butler
Play: Butler +8

This version of Butler is not proving to be one of the better groups this program has put on the floor over the last decade, and looked bad in a loss to Xavier last time out. However, despite of that , they are still not pushovers and not to be under estimated. Meanwhile Creighton' s program has proven themselves to be an explosive elite side this season as their 19-4 record would indicate. But it must be noted, that the Blue Jays are off a loss to St.Johns last time out and have gone down to defeat in 2 of their L/3 road events. With Big East Conference leader Villanova on board next, for the Blue Jays I will not be surprised if they get caught looking ahead. Also Butler looked embarrassed and frustrated last time out, and considering HC Brandon Millers aptitude and preparation abilities the Bulldogs Im betting will be out to make amends and work hard. The Bulldogs have only failed to cover 7 of their L/28 home games vs an above ,500 team.

If it's Thursday night the PAC 12 is in action and with it the Trojans host the Utes at the Galen Center in a perfect set for USC. That's because the Spoiled Children are off a 10-point home loss looking to avenge a same season loss suffered at Utah with the Utes entering off an 18-point revenge win over Washington State. With the Trojans 20-7 SU and 15-9-1 ATS at home off an immediate home loss, look for the host in this series to improve to 5-1-1 ATS here tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on USC.

Bad vibes from the Circle, as QB Jay Cutler and the Bears (who haven't played in a month-and-a-half) have won more recently than UIC's last SU success back on Dec. 17. Which has literally turned up the "Flame" under HC Howard Moore in the Windy City. Unfortunately, UIC lacks the shooters to make Moore's Wisconsin-influenced "swing" offense work as designed. Now the Flames have to tangle with the hottest Horizon entry in CSU, which has won and covered six straight and already handled UIC by 10 on Jan. 22 when shooting holes in the slow-burning Flame perimeter defense (Vikes 10 of 15 triples!).

The Red Storm have won five of six, and their only loss during that span was a 63-60 defeat at Creighton. They will be on the road tonight, taking on a struggling Seton Hall team that has lost consecutive home games. In fact, the Pirates only have one home win versus a Big East opponent this season, and that came against last place DePaul. Backing Seton Hall at home has been a losing proposition in recent seasons, as the Pirates are just 7-20-1 ATS in their last 28 home games. St. John's is coming off a home win against Creighton over the weekend, and they have road wins at Providence and Butler previously this season. The Pirates turned the ball over 17 times in a home loss to Marquette on Tuesday, and they were dominated on the glass, getting out-rebounded 32-19. That could be a recipe for disaster against a St. John's team that specializes in forcing turnovers and battling it out on the glass.

1. There's No Play Like Home - All four of Creighton's losses this season have come away from home. Two of those losses came to San Diego St and George Washington out in California. They have also been upset twice in Big East play, once at Providence and then Sunday at St. John's. The Bluejays were held way below their YTD scoring average of 81 pts/game and had an off-shooting night at 41.1 percent including 22% from three-point range. They were also only 56 percent from the free throw line, something the Red Storm had nothing to do with.

2. Lookahead - Creighton will host Villanova Sunday in a showdown for first place in the Big East. I wouldn't be shocked if they were already peeking towards that game.

3. X-Factor - Revenge. Butler was humiliated in the first meeting with Creighton this year, losing by 28 points. With only two wins in 12 Big East games this year, the Bulldogs are also a desperate team. I expect them to play much better tonight in Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Chattanooga -4.5 over Western Carolina

Chattanooga is the better of these two Southern Conference squads. The Mocs are off to a 9-2 start in conference play under their first-year head coach. They should come in very motivated as well as they have dropped three of their last four, including an ugly loss in overtime to a bad Samford team in their last game. All three losses were on the road, though, and they do come into this game with a very solid 10-1 home record on the season.

Western Carolina has won three of their last four games, but don't be fooled by this. They have just one decent conference win all season and are just 3-9 away from home this year overall. Even if you look outside the Southern Conference, WCU has had wins against mostly bottom-level teams. WCU came into this season showing they were getting worse each of their last four seasons, and it's my belief that trend will continue by the end of this year as well.
