The gears are starting to grind a bit at UCLA, as a collection of frosh stars who all want their hands on the ball has caused Ben Howland to lose even more hair as the Bruins (have dropped 3 of their last 4 SU) begin to slide down the Big Dance seeding scale. As perplexing as Lorenzo Romar’s U-Dub has been (losers of 4 of last 5 SU, but have covered 7 of 9), the Huskies remain hard to beat by a margin, with their last six losses all by single-digits. UW broke its recent losing streak vs. Arizona State last Saturday, when Romar finally “let the dogs loose” in a 96-point explosion (the most since Feb. 2011 vs. Cal) after spending much of the season playing at a slower pace. Big points work tonight at Pauley Pavilion. Play Washington

We'll be the first to admit the Panthers have been practically clawless this season. However, after opening the season 2-9 ATS in their first eleven lined games, Milwaukee has rallied to cash six of its last ten contests. They have also been ultra reliable at home when playing off a previous home loss, going 19-3 SU and 16-3 ATS in this role when playing on three or more days of rest, including 11-1 ATS in conference clashes. With the Panthers returning home off an embarrassing 31-point loss, and the visiting Titans having cashed in only five of 14 tries as favorites this season, the points become the play here today. We recommend a 1-unit play on Wisconsin Milwaukee.

What to expect: We're being asked to lay plenty of juice (as always) with the puck-line in this matchup, but I actually feel the line could be much higher. Winnipeg hasn't won a game by multiple goals since back on January 25th, and it needed an empty-netter to do so on that night. Tuesday's narrow 3-2 overtime win over Florida certainly didn't impress me all that much, and I believe the Jets will be in for another fight against the Leafs on Thursday. Toronto has suffered just one loss by more than a goal over its last five games, and is coming off a galvanizing 3-2 road win in Washington on Tuesday. The Leafs have been at their absolute best on the road this season, posting a solid 4-1 record. They split four meetings with the Jets last season, losing both games here in Winnipeg, but each of those losses came by a single goal. Note that the Jets continue to play without Dustin Byfuglien, and he isn't expected to return from a lower-body injury on Thursday night. The Jets have been scuffing along lately, and I don't see them busting out with a convincing win tonight. The Leafs continue to play a gritty style of hockey on the road, and get another solid effort between the pipes in a game that goes right down to the wire.

NY Islanders vs. NY RangersFREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Pick: NY RangersFOR FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Isles are 4-4-1 and are coming off back to back losses, including a 4-2 setback to Pittsburgh on the 5th. It's interesting to note that the Isles are just 1-3 (-1.6 units) after allowing 4 goals or more this year.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
The Rangers are 4-5 and are coming off a lacklustre 3-1 setback at New Jersey on the 5th.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Note though that the Rangers are 2-1 (+1.1 units) after scoring 1 goal or less in their previous contest this year.

So where's the value in this one?
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Both teams have been struggling of late, but the home side has a big opportunity to return to form against a club that it's enjoyed plenty of success against, going 10-3-1 in the last 14 in this series. The Rangers have in fact taken the last seven in front of the home town crowd, winning by a combined 31-10.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundqvist started six of those games, posting a 1.32 GAA, and three shutouts.

And that doesn't bode well for the Isles, who were 0 for 7 with the man advantage in each of their last two outings.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Sometimes a favorite is a favorite for a reason, and in this case, I absolutely have no problem in recommending to lay the steeper price!

The Huskies snapped a four game losing streak with a win over Arizona State on Saturday, and while they have lost four of their last five straight up, they have covered the spread in seven of their last nine overall. They have a record of 4-3 on the road this season, but all three of those losses were close, including a 57-53 loss at Arizona in their last game away from home.

Washington is in California Thursday night, taking on a struggling UCLA team that has lost three of four. The Bruins lost at home to USC in overtime in their last game, getting out-rebounded 44-36, and hitting just 2-of-19 from beyond the arc. Shabazz Muhammad had 22 points in a losing effort, despite suffering from flu like symptoms, and receiving two liters of IV fluid before the game.

The Bruins have failed to cover the points in each of their last three home games, and in five of their last seven overall. UCLA split their two games with the Huskies in 2012, winning at home by a score of 75-69, the six point margin of victory would not be enough to cover the spread in this game. Prior to that victory, the Huskies had won four straight meetings with UCLA dating back to 2010.

Washington has been a good bet versus Pac-12 opponents, with a record of 7-2 ATS in their last nine games within the conference.

It is my opinion that the Bruins are one of the more overrated teams in college basketball, and their poor performance against the spread this season seems to support that opinion. They are giving up quite a few points against a very good Huskies team, and I think Washington will keep it close, covering the number easily.

Belmont has better RPI Numbers here going 7-2 vs teams ranked 51 to 100. Murray St is 1-3 vs top 100 teams and has failed to cover 6 of 7 at home and are 1-6 ats vs teams who play good defense and allow 65 or less points per game. Belmont is 10-0 in conference play this season and 27-7 after allowing 60 or less points in their last game. They have played the 60th toughest schedule in the country this season compared to Murray St. Who has played the 262nd toughest. Look for Belmont to get the win and Cover.

Bears + the short # as the Mike Montgomery .who we think is a strong leader will lead Bears will go into the Sun Devils palace and steal one..2 super back court motors with Crabbe/Cobbs will get the job done. These 2 junior guards are the highest scoring pair in the Pac-12 Conference with a super "33.7" ppg. Crabbe leads the Pac-12 and ranks 17th nationally at 19.4 points per game, while Cobbs ranks 12th in the conference at 14.3 points per contest. The pair has combined to score 709 of the total 1,430 points (49.6 %). The Road team is 16-5 ATS in the last 21 meetings. & the Underdog is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Cal has a huge edge on D... Power rated @ a Pickem..Cal By 2 to 3 points

Idaho is a better team than their record indicates but they have had some bad breaks. They are 9-12 on the year but outscoring opponents by 0.6 ppg. New Mexico State is a good team, no doubt about it, but they are only outscoring conference opponents by 6.5 ppg for a 9-2 record.

Idaho did lose earlier in the year at home to New Mexico State, but that was after getting out to a 42-27 halftime deficit. They battled back and I think they are going to carry that momentum into tonight's contest. New Mexico State has not only won nine in a row, but also six in a row at the pay window. Idaho on the other hand has lost four in a row against the spread. Oddsmakers have over-adjusted and now you get a matchup of one team being over-valued and the other under.

Idaho is 7-1 ATS in the role of an underdog this year and 82-53 ATS on the road against conference opponents since 1997. New Mexico State is just 36-62 ATS after scoring 75 points or less in two straight games since 1997.

Two long time NY Rivals the Isles and Rangers go head to head tonight in MSG. The Islanders despite of the line, must not be under estimated, especially with super star John Tavares in their lineup. When this kid is hot, he can control an entire game. The slick gritty center has 11 points on the season, but has still not began on one of his patented explosive streaks. At 3-1-1 on the road, only two Eastern Conference teams (New Jersey, Toronto) have more points than the Islanders' seven away from home. I know the Islanders have lost 7 straight at MSG, but all good and bad runs must eventually come to an end. Thats what Im betting happens tonight.

North Carolina State vs Duke
Pick: Over

Revenge time for Duke! At least they hope as North Carolina State is in town after topping Duke, 84-76, four weeks ago. That game sailed over the total which is not a surprise as both offense are outstanding, loaded with talent and scoring options inside and out. Duke is on a 5-1 run over the total, while NC State is on a 3-1 run over. Defensive oriented Miami just hung 79 on the Wolfpack and Duke is off a blowout win over over Florida State scoring 79 and the Over is 13-3-1 in the last 17 meetings. between these foes Play Duke/NC State over the total.

Rough sledding for Illinois since the 12-0 start, and not the easiest opponent to stop the bleeding against. But if there's a spot for the Illini to jump up and spring an upset, this might be it. They'll at least get the tempo to their liking as Indiana loves to run. The Hoosiers are off Michigan and have a huge Sunday date at Ohio State, so the scheduling dynamics are there. I also have to think Illinois approaches this as a game they have to win if they're going to have any shot at all to get to March Madness. The Illini are 2-7 in conference play. They will have to win their four remaining league home games and will probably need at least one road win to maintain any hopes. I think a loss here pretty much ends it, so I'll look for the home team to pull out all the stops. The number is big enough so that Illinois really just needs to compete to have a good chance at covering. Let's give Illinois plus the points a play tonight.

Arizona State is the better team here and despite getting tons of backing in their last game at Washington, they might be priced cheaply here. They opened +5.5 at Washington and were bet all the way down to +3, losing the game 96-92 to the Huskies. It was not a great effort defensively for the Sun Devils as they trailed by double-digits most of the game while allowing Washington to hit 36 of 68 from the field. However, they never quit, and shot 37-58, 64% from the floor themselves in making a valiant comeback. They catch a Cal team off two home wins over Oregon and Oregon State, and one that is not as efficient on the road as they are at home. Cal is 2-3 SU and ATS on the road this year, and they lack the inside game to hurt the Sun Devils like Washington did. Arizona State is 4-1 SU at home this year, smashing UCLA by 18 in its last game on this court. Herb Sendek will shore up the defense after allowing 96 to Washington and the Sun Devils should get another home win.

Middle Tennessee State has now put together back-to-back 20-win seasons, as they are off to a 20-4 start to this season and are a perfect 11-0 at home. Last year they were denied an NCAA Tournament bid because they lost to this same Arkansas State team in the conference tournament. The Red Wolves have been a thorn for Middle Tennessee as they beat them again this year in a thrilling overtime 6-point win. The Red Wolves matchup well and certainly have the talent to hang in this one, and Arkansas St. has covered their last five vs. a winning team. The Blue Raiders have struggled vs. winning teams, now at 1-7 ATS in their last eight. Take Arkansas St.
