Eastern Michigan +9

Akron is an excellent team as evidenced by their 15 straight wins, but they are starting to be over-valued by odds makers as this team has lost two straight against the spread now. The public will still refuse to go against a team that has won this many games in a row, but you actually want to play against favorites who have won nine or more straight games in February games. This situation is 103-60 (63.2%) ATS the last five seasons. When a team takes to the road as a favorite having won six or more in a row during the month of February, fading those teams would have gone 106-58 (64.6%) ATS the last five years.

Last year Eastern Michigan lost by 30 at Akron and you can bet this team didn't forget that embarrassment. Eastern Michigan is actually an under-rated team. They are 4-5 against common opponents, but outscoring their foes by 2 ppg. They shoot at a decent clip, win on the glass and don't lose the turnover battle. This is a live home dog here tonight.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
When the Pacers host the Bobcats in the finale for both teams before the All-Star break Indiana will take the court off an embarrassing 5-point loss as 9-point point home chalk to Brooklyn on Monday night. That sets the table for tonight's contest as Indiana is 19-5 SU and 16-7-1 ATS at home off an immediate home loss when hosting a foe off a SU underdog win. With Charlotte off an upset win over Boston and just 5-15-1 ATS in games against opponents off a loss this season, look for the Pacers to improve to 9-2 ATS at home on Wednesdays here tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on Indiana.

Toledo +4

Toledo opened up as a 4 point dog in this one and their on quite the roll right now winning 5 straight and getting over the .500 mark at 11-10. They have covered 7 of 10 lined road game this season and have won 7 of 9 vs losing teams. In games after scoring 60 or less points they are 4-1 ats and 3-1 after allowing 60 or less. They emerged with a 60-52 home win last out despite shooting a paltry 34% from the field. Tonight they will travel in to face a Buffalo team that is laying points, despite being 0-9 straight up vs teams over .500. Buffalo is also 1-8 to the spread after scoring 60 or less points and 1-5 after allowing 60 or less points. In the series they have lost 6 of the last 7 here to the spread vs Toledo and will likely do so again. Take Toledo tonight.

Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks
Pick: Dallas Mavericks

A tough spot for Sacramento, a team that plays little defense and is in the second of a back to back spot, playing at Memphis last night. The Kings are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games playing on no days rest and on a 5-13-1 ATS overall. Dallas is rested and playing better, on a 13-3 ATS run and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games playing on one days rest. When these teams meet the home team is 7-1 ATS in the last 8 meetings, and the Kings are 4-17-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings in Dallas. Play the Mavericks!

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Second meeting between DePaul and Notre Dame, and don't be shocked if this is just as tense as the initial one. The Fighting Irish needed OT to get past the Blue Demons the first time around, and it's hard to envision Notre Dame being razor sharp for the rematch. This is the first outing for ND since last weekend's epic marathon with Louisville, and the fact the Irish are facing a Big East bottom feeder they already defeated isn't going to fire them up. The game is bigger to DePaul and it's not like Notre Dame is a margin entry this season. I don't think the Blue Demons are good enough to warrant an outright upset call, but taking doubles here is something I cannot pass up. A bit of an adjustment in the number off the true power ratings, but not enough to sway me from DePaul plus the points.

Ottawa is coming off a game vs. Buffalo just last night. The last time the Sens played Pittsburgh, they lost 2-1 in front of the home town crowd on January 27th.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Note that Ottawa has seen the total go "under" the number in four of its last five road games where the total is 5.5.

Pittsburgh is 8-5, and is coming off back to back 3-1 losses, including vs. New Jersey on the 10th.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Note that Pittsburgh has seen the total go "under" the number in three of four after a loss by 2 goals or more in its previous game.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
I don't think there's any need to overanalyze this pick. The Sens come into this game with "heavy legs", and these two Eastern conference foes once again battle to a lower-scoring affair!

"Any time you go on the road and get a win, it's always big," Hawks' coach Larry Drew said yesterday. "We've had our ups and downs, as most teams do. But we have not fragmented when that has happened." One player to keep your eyes on is Atlanta's Josh Smith, who had 26 points, 13 boards and six assists vs. the Mavs. "I'm just trying to focus on getting better as an individual on the court," Smith said last night. "As long as I'm with the Atlanta Hawks, I can only focus on how to make this team better," (Atlanta is 3-1 ATS as a road fav of 3.5 to 6 points). Orlando's 110-104 win over Portland on Sunday ended a 12-game slide. JJ Redick had 22 points (Orlando though is just 8-17 ATS at home this year). Atlanta has taken the first two meetings of the year between these clubs, limiting the lowly Magic to an average of just 76 points in those contests. I fully expect a similar outcome this evening, and recommend laying the short points.

The Huskies have lost six of their last seven games, but four of those came on the road. Two of those losses were in tight games against top 25 teams, losing to Arizona 57-53 at home, as well as losing to the Ducks in Oregon by a score of 81-76.

Washington will host Oregon on Wednesday night, looking to bounce back from a pair of road losses to UCLA and USC. Despite their recent struggles, this is a game the Huskies will expect to win at home. they have won 11 of the last 12 meetings with the Ducks in Washington.

When these teams faced each other in Oregon earlier this season, the Ducks shot 57.8% from the field, but committed 24 turnovers, while allowing the Huskies to shoot 51.9 %, and only came away with a win by a narrow five point margin. The change of venue should yield a different result, especially when you consider Oregon has shot just 39% while losing three of it's last four.

When the Huskies lost at home to Arizona earlier this year, it was their first loss in their last five games against top 25 teams at home. That game was a close one, with the Huskies coming up just a little short. I expect the Huskies to earn another home victory over a ranked opponent on Wednesday.

If La Salle is serious about earning Big Dance at-large consideration, this sort of test at Olean is one the Explorers must win. After recent wins at VCU and George Washington, no reason John Giannini’s crew can’t do the same at Bona, which had lost four straight at home prior to its recent win over league doormat Duquesne. The Bonnies have missed the scoring threat on blocks that graduated F Andrew Nicholson (now with the Orlando Magic) provided consistently over the past few years. Meanwhile, the midseason addition of go-go Virginia Tech transfer G Tyrone Garland (12.4 ppg) as a sparkplug off the bench has lent an even sharper edge to the backcourt-fueled La Salle attack still featuring the electric pairing of Ramon Galloway (17.1 ppg) & Tyreek Duren (14.2 ppg).

It has been a horribly disappointing season for Texas as it is 10-13 overall including 2-8 in the Big XII. It has been a series of firsts and not in a good way. This year was the first time that the Longhorns opened the conference season with five straight losses since doing it in back-to-back seasons in the Southwest Conference in 1975 and 1976. Texas had won its Big XII opener for 12 consecutive seasons but has not done so in each of the last two years. A trip to the NCAA Tournament is all but dead. The Longhorns have gone to the Big Dance each of the last 14 years and now the only chance of getting there this year is winning the Big XII Tournament. Now it has to play for pride and that will be on the line tonight. Iowa St. is coming off a loss at Kansas St., dropping it to 16-7 overall and 6-4 in the conference but its tournament hopes are very much alive. The Cyclones have struggled on the road however as they are just 2-6 with the only wins coming against TCU and UM-Kansas City. The Longhorns catch at least one break tonight. The good news is that starting point guard Myck Kabongo returns from a 23-game NCAA suspension. Texas head coach Rick Barnes has already promised that Kabongo will start instead of freshman Javan Felix, who has struggled to lead the team in Kabongo's absence. This is a big revenge game for the Longhorns as they went to Ames and were blasted by 20 points last month and this is where pride comes into play. Texas is still respectable 9-3 at home and it is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games following a loss. Meanwhile, Iowa St. is 2-6-1 ATS in its last nine games against teams with a losing record.

Last night, I released a 10* on the Toronto Raptors, who handed the Denver Nuggets a second straight loss after a nine-game win streak. Though I still have tremendous respect for the Nuggets, there can be no doubt that that they are not the same team on the road as they are at home. This is a free play on the Brooklyn Nets.

Brooklyn is coming off an impressive win at Indiana on Monday, beating the Pacers in overtime, 89-84 despite not having point guard Deron Williams. It appears as if they will be without their floor leader again here, but the bigger story is that it looks like Denver will again be without two of its key players, Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala, who missed last night's game in Toronto. JaVale McGee also left that game in the second half and reserve Wilson Chandler didn't play either. It is currently unclear if any of the four will play Wednesday.

While 22-3 SU at home this season, the Nuggets are just 11-17 SU away from the Pepsi Center and giving up 102.9 PPG. Look for the Nets to take care of business in the final game for both teams before the All-Star Break.

The Raptors have won 3 in a row with 2 of those wins coming against the Pacers and Nuggets. Unfortunately, this will be their second game in as many nights and third in four days, and I don't believe they'll have enough left in the tank here. The Knicks are coming off an ugly 14-point loss at home to the Clippers so they should be hungry. Plus, they have had 2 days of rest so they should also be the much fresher team. New York is 10-2 ATS when matched up against poor teams with a winning percentage of .250 to .400 this season. It has defeated these teams by an average of 11.2 points. Also, the Knicks are on an 8-0 ATS run in home games played in the second half of the schedule versus teams that have a losing record. They have won these contests by an average of 21.7 points. Lay the number.
