After pair of bitter losses last week vs. Mountain West contenders UNLV & New Mexico likely hurt CSU’s chances of sub-regional assignment to preferred Salt Lake City destination, expect the Rams to quickly rehabilitate their protected-seed argument vs. limited Fresno side. Bulldog HC Rodney Terry has been slowing the pace all season (reflective of mentor Jerry Wainwright). But FSU is still prone to extended droughts on the offensive end with only one DD scorer (G Tyler Johnson at 12.3 ppg) on the roster. No better example of the exquisite balance at Larry Eustachy’s disposal than the first meeting Jan. 26 at Fresno, when all Ram starters scored in double figures during CSU’s comfy 74-63 win and cover at the Save-Mart Center. Fresno simply not built to play catch-up ball.

When the Pistons hit the nation's capitol to take on the Wizards Wednesday evening, Detroit will take the floor looking to regroup off three double-digit defeats in a row knowing they are 8-2 ATS off back-to-back SUATS losses this season. Meanwhile Washington checks in fatter than a Keebler elf knowing they are in off three consecutive upset underdog wins in a row. With the Wiz 2-13 SU and 4-11 ATS of late in this series, the points become the play tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on Detroit.

Sacramento has no trouble scoring points. It's the schedule that has hurt of late, with a string of games against the Mavericks, Grizzlies, Rockets, Hawks Spurs and Heat! Now they take on an Orlando team that has packed in the season, 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games overall. They are also 7-20 ATS in their last 27 home games. The Magic is 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400. Play the Kings.

This game fits a bevy of power angles that indicate the game will be high scoring and go over the total. Golden St has no rest here and comes in off a road game last night in Indiana. The Warriors are 6-1 to the over in the 2nd of back to back road games. They Warriors have played over the total in 19 of 26 vs winning teams and 7 of 10 this month. The Knicks have flown over in their last 3 games. In the series 6 of the last 7 have played over. Look for this one to post over the total tonight with an up tempo game.

FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Situational Analysis
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
This is a "revenge game" for the home side after it lost 69-54 at Hofstra on January 9th.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Delaware is coming off a 79-78 win at NC Wilmington on February 23rd. Devon Saddler had 24 points.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
Hofstra is coming off a momentum building 70-59 win over Old Dominion on the 24th, and I believe this team carries that play over into this contest. David Imes had 18 points, while Taran Buie added 15. Stevie Mejia chipped in 10 points and 10 assists. Hofstra would hold OD to just 37.5% shooting.

Statistical Analysis

Note that Delaware is just 5-6 ATS off a win vs. a conference rival.

"Revenge" is a powerful motivator, and I believe will ultimately prove to the be the difference here. These teams are actually very evenly matched, and I believe that home court advantage can not be overlooked in this one; grab the points!

The way this College Basketball season is going, when a team is at the peak of its hype is when you want to look to go against them. Such is the case Wednesday night with Georgetown, winners of nine in a row, both straight up and against the spread. The Hoyas are coming off a very emotional win over Syracuse on Sunday & now there's talk that they should be under consideration for a #1 seed.....
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
That means there's only one way to go from here. Last night, I played a pair of home dogs on ESPN, cashing both Minnesota and Tennessee outright. Needless to say, it was a really nice night (went 4-1 overall). Here, I'll back the home dog UConn, who because of the fact they're ineligible for the NCAA Tournament, will certainly treat a game like this as their "Super Bowl." The Huskies also own a recent victory over Syracuse as well and have been much better than advertised for 1st year head coach Kevin Ollie. They have won seven of their last nine, making them a live dog in this situation.
FOR THE LARGEST SELECTION OF FREE SERVICE PLAYS VISIT THESPREAD.COM
With the win over Syracuse still fresh in their minds, this is a total letdown spot for the Hoyas, who have lost six of their last seven visits to Storrs, including an 0-3 mark in Gampel Pavillion, losing by an average of 22 points per game. Connecticut is 12-2 SU at home this season, including 5-0 here in Gampel. With all the attention on Georgetown's Otto Porter, keep an eye on UConn's Shabazz Napier, who averaged 27.5 PPG on 55.4% shooting in a pair of wins last week.

The first meeting between these two teams this season produced only 173 points, easily staying south of the closing total of 194. Of course, there's a reason why we're seeing a much higher total this time around. The Kings have thrown defense out the window during their current six-game slide, allowing nearly 120 points per game over that stretch. They've seen the 'over' cash at a 7-0-1 clip over their last eight contests. However, off a wild double-overtime loss in Miami last night, I'm not counting on the Kings to settle into another track meet tonight. The common line of thinking is that tired teams lead to a lack of defense. But often times, tired teams can lead to sloppy offense. It's certainly worth noting that the Magic played last night as well, scoring up upset win in Philadellphia. They're still working out the kinks after a big trade deadline deal, and haven't scored 100 points in a game since back on February 10th against Portland. The Magic were thoroughly embarrassed by the Cavs in their last home game, allowing 118 points. I do expect them to respond favorably at the defensive end of the floor tonight, helping lead to a lower-scoring game than the oddsmakers are calling for.

This is a solid spot for Wichita State as they seek to avenge a 71-67 loss at Evansville on January 13 in which Wichita was a 4 point road favorite. Wichita is seeking to protect its lead atop the Missouri Valley, one game ahead of Creighton, against who they end the regular season this Saturday. Thus they cannot afford a slip up and enter Saturday's finale in a tie (should Creighton win, as expected, at Bradley tonight). As you can tell, this is Wichita's final home game in which the seniors will be saluted. This is traditionally a highly charged environment for good teams. Wichita is 15-1 SU at home with their last 4 wins by 15 or more points. They are also 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. Evansville did win its last road game but that was a non-conference Bracket Buster game at Wright State. Evansville has lost 6 straight conference road games (1-5 ATS). Overall away from home this season the Purple Aces are 3-10 SU and although they are 7-6 ATS away from home, they are 3-6 ATS in their last 9 road games following a 4-0 ATS start on the road.

The Tribe have won 3 of its last 4 games and are off a hard fought 60-58 spread covering loss at George Mason. William & Mary beat NC Wilmington 92-86 just two weeks ago in Williamsburg. The Seahawks have dropped 7 of 9 but 9 of their 10 wins this season have come in Trask Coliseum. NC Wilmington is 7-3 ATS at home this year and a solid 21-13 ATS here the past three seasons. With this being the final home game of the season we can see a strong effort from the host here. Keep in mind the Seahawks have beaten the Tribe here in 12 of the last 15 meetings at home.

I took a miserable beat about ten days ago when a stupid flagrant foul keyed a ridiculous last minute collapse by Illinois State in an eventual one-point loss at home to Wichita State. But I've already gotten that one back and then some. I made up my mind to fade Illinois State the next time out and to continue doing so until they win another game. So far, so good with two easy winners. This is one of the more mentally fragile teams you'll ever see, and while they are clearly superior to Missouri State, I won't be surprised at all to see this a whole lot closer than the spread. It doesn't hurt that the visiting Bears have been a cash machine against the spread, as while they are not very talented, Missouri State is a very hard working team. No problem at all taking the Bears plus the big points tonight.

Today's free play is in the NBA as I'm backing the Dallas Mavs plus the points over Memphis.

Dallas couldn't have played a worse 4th quarter last night in a rare home loss, 95-90, vs. Milwaukee. Dallas, a fairly solid three-point shooting team, was just 1-of-17 from downtown while Vince Carter had one of his worst shooting nights ever.

Vinsanity was a cool 0-for-8 shooting from the field including 0-for-4 from long range and his offensive ineptitude resulted in his lack of defense on the other end.

That won't happen two nights in a row.

The Mavs realize they are running out of time if they want to make a push for the 8th and final playoff spot in the western conference. Meanwhile, Memphis is just plugging along, sitting in 4th place in the conference playoff seedings and might get a little too comfortable tonight facing a team that just lost two straight home games.

The last time these two hooked up the Mavs were in the midst of what appeared to be a massive comeback. Dirk Nowitzki was just getting his legs back and the team was actually playing some defense. But that was also when Memphis was going through some growing pains and clearly not playing their best.

Still, Dallas has split with Memphis over their last four meetings and has actually covered three of those four matchups.

The Mavs may not win this game SU, but the 7 1/2 points seem like a tad much. I'm taking Dallas to cover the number on the road as your free play of the day.

3* DALLAS

After getting a little too full of their own headlines, Miami-Florida got caught napping on Saturday when they lost at Wake Forest by double-digits. That very same afternoon, Virginia Tech was busy snapping their protracted losing streak with an 80-70 home court win over disappointing Florida State.

Bad time for the Hokies to be heading to Coral Gables, as Miami's last few games have lacked the prowess they displayed during their late January early February ascent.

Expect Jim Larranaga to crack the whip and for Miami to come out and leave Virginia Tech in their wake.

The Hurricanes are 12-0 at home this season, and almost as good against the spread, sporting a 9-1 home spread mark this year.

Miami does have a huge game at Duke set for this weekend, so look for them to use tonight as a "table setter" for Saturday's rematch with Dookie.

The Hokies are just 3-8 straight up away from Blacksburg, and their recent spread mark in all games is just 2-3-1. Tech did cover the first meeting this season versus Miami, losing by 9 as the +9 1/2 point home dog. Overall Miami has captured 4 of the last 5 series meetings, and they have also covered in 4 of the 5 meetings.

Miami needs to stop their sleepwalking, and come out tonight with a blowout.
Blowout rout it is. Take the Canes.

4* MIAMI-FLORIDA
