Illinois State at Bradley
Prediction: Bradley
Things have gone from bad to worse for Bradley this season. Thanks to the loss of forward Taylor Brown and guard Sam Maniscalco, the Braves are currently 0-9 SU in Missouri Valley Conference play, their worst start in 59 years. Enter ISU off its victory over Southern Illinois on Sunday night. Not only was the game against the Salukis a double-revenger for the Redbirds, Illinois State stands a hopeless 0-7-1 ATS off a SU win this season. That stat plays right into Bradley?s recent series dominance as the Braves have gone 12-3-1 ATS in the last sixteen meetings, including 7-0-1 ATS on their home court. Add the fact that Southern Illinois has whipped the hosts in the last three get-togethers (1-1-1 ATS) and Bradley head coach Jim Les knows this is a golden opportunity for his squad to build something positive from the wreckage of the current campaign. Yes, it?s been a down year for the Braves but our history book comes to their support today. We recommend a 1-unit play on Bradley.

Akron at Northern Illinois
Play on: Akron
Take Akron minus the points over Northern Illinois on Wednesday. The Zips (11-8) snapped their three-game losing streak by defeating Bowling Green by a 63-58 score. Now they look to establish some momentum on the road where this program is 40-18-4 ATS in their last 62 road games. Northern Illinois (6-11) has now lost two games in a row after their 82-80 loss at Western Michigan. The Huskies return home now where they are just 4-3 with a weak -5.2 net point differential. Northern Illinois is only 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 home games. Lay the points with Akron in this contest.

Oklahoma City vs. Minnesota
Play: Oklahoma City -5
The Thunder travel to the Twin Cities for a meeting with the host Timberwolves on Wednesday night with the tipoff set for 8:05PM EST. Oklahoma City has had little trouble with Minnesota over their last seven meetings with the Thunder winning all seven straight up. Minnesota has no answer for Thunder star Kevin Durant who has averaged 31 points per game over their last six meetings. Not only has Durant been a thorn in their side but also Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook has torched them for 22.5 points per game on 50 percent shooting from the field. OKC has forced Minnesota star forward Michael Beasley to have to work for his 22 points per game shooting just 38 percent from the field against the Thunder defense. The T-Wolves have struggled against the spread of late posting a record of 2-7 ATS their last nine contests overall. We have isolated a key technical situation for this game and it tells us the Thunder are 8-0 ATS covering by an average of 11.1 points per game since December 31, 2008 with at most one day of rest off a loss as an underdog in which they led by ten or more points. The Thunder are just a tough matchup for the T-Wolves and tonight’s contest will be no different as Durant and Company bounce back and put a “W” in both columns on Wednesday night in the Twin Cities.
David Chan
St. Louis Blues @ Calgary Flames
PICK: Calgary Flames
I bet value where I see it and look for the red hot Flames to burn the stumbling Blues this evening.
Calgary will be shooting for its fourth straight victory tonight; it's 5-1-1 its last seven overall:
“We’ve still got to jump a bunch of teams here so there’s a long way to go, but the positive thing is we are playing better hockey, we’re playing more complete games, and it’s adding up to some wins,” C Brendan Morrison said.
Mikka Kiprusoff has been a big reason for the Flames fortunes of late; he's also enjoyed plenty of success vs. the Blues in his career going 14-4-2 with a 2.17 goals against average lifetime.
St. Louis has struggled on the powerplay, having killed just 18 of 26 penalties over its last seven games and converting just 3 of 32 with the man advantage in January (note that the Blues are 4-13 [-10.7 units] after allowing 4-goals or more in their previous contest; they are coming off a 4-3 loss in Colorado on Monday; fourth loss in last five games).
Fantastic line-value here on a motivated and hot home side looking to go into the break on a hot streak; all signs point to the CALGARY FLAMES as the sharp wager in this contest.
Scott Spreitzer
Houston @ Rice
Pick: Houston +5
Houston is 11-7, 5-5 ATS and has won the last eight meetings with Rice. The Cougars are 9-1 ATS their last 10 conference games and they have won three of their last four, losing only to UTEP 57-52 after leading with about two minutes to go in the game. Senior guard Adam Brown leads the team with a 14.9 scoring average and forward Maurice McNeil averages 12.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. The Cougars hold opponents to just a 40.9 field goal percentage and 28.8 percent from beyond the arc. Rice is 9-10 and losers of four of their last five games, although the Owls beat Central Florida on Saturday when both teams shot a combined 33 percent from the field. Forward Arsalan Kazemi is the leading scorer with 16.3 points per game and 11.3 rebounds while hitting 58.6 percent of his shots, but there's not much else after that. Rice is 4-10 ATS its last 14 home games. I believe the line is off by a couple of baskets in this game and I'm taking the points with Houston on Wednesday night.
Nick “The BookieKiller” Parsons
St. Louis @ Calgary
PICK: Under 5.5
For a number of different reasons I believe the value in this contest is on the "under":
The Blues have seen the total go "under" the number in 24 of 47 this season (with one "push"); on Monday they lost 4-3 at Colorado.
St. Louis will be looking to "right the ship" as its lost three straight and nine of its last 11; the Blues have won three straight at the Saddledome though.
Note that St. Louis has seen the total go "under" the number in 9 of 17 after allowing 4-goals or more; also in two of three after playing to three or more consecutive "overs".
On the other side of the rink: The Flames have seen the total go "under" the number in 25 of 48 this year (with two "pushes"); on Monday they beat Nashville 3-1.
Calgary is on a roll having gone 5-1-1 its last seven; its now a single point in front of the Blues and have a shot at a playoff position with a big push out of the break.
Mikka Kiprusoff has been much better of late for Calgary as he'll look to earn his team a victory in this series; he's turned away 64 of 68 shots in his last two games; he's 14-4-2 with a 2.17 GAA in 20 career starts vs. St. Louis.
Note that Calgary has seen the total go "under" the number in 6 of 11 after a win by two-goals or more.
Bottom line: It's also important to note that in five of these teams last six vs. each other, regardless of the location, the total has indeed also gone "under" the number.
Consider a second look at the "under" in this situation.
Jim Feist
Bobcats vs. Suns
Take: Over 201
Charlotte is in the second of a back to back spot, so look for the uptempo home team to push the pace. The Bobcats went two straight games over the total in beating the 76ers, 100-97, then losing to the Hawks giving up 103 points. Phoenix is third in the NBA in points scored (106 ppg) and that comes at a cost of playing no defense, allowing .479% shooting, 28th in the NBA, plus allowing 107.7 ppg second most. The Over is 8-3-1 in the Bobcats last 12 vs. the NBA Pacific and the Over is 9-4 in the last 13 meetings between these teams. Play the Bobcats/Suns Over the total.
Brent Brooks
S.Miss -1.5
ECU has been better than expected but Flowers and company are just too talented to lose this game. The Pirates excel against teams without frontcourt size and that isn't the case here. We love big front courts on the road.
Ohio -10.5
I continue to believe Ohio is too talented to sink any further in the MAC. They should also have a sufficient reservoir of angst to unload on a hapless road team like EMU. Romp alert.
Miami +1.5
Apparently, the Tar Heels have finally turned to a freshman PG to replace the ineffective Larry Drew. This middle of the season transition spells trouble for a team that is hit and miss on the road. Especially with Miami hungry for an ACC win.
EZWINNERS
New Orleans Hornets -5
The Hornets are red hot as they come into this game with the Warriors riding a nine game winning streak that has been fueled by their play on the defensive end of the floor. In this nine game winning streak New Orleans has held seven of their opponents under 90 points and the two teams that scored over 90 points were games that went into overtime. This is a payback game for New Orleans as they lost at home to the Warriors on January 5th and I look for them to get their revenge that will be fueled by another strong defensive showing. The Hornets are playing physical, well-executed defense and Golden State usually struggles against tough defensive teams. The Hornets have been shooting well on offense and that should continue against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. Lay the points.
Brad Diamond Sports
Towson vs. George Mason
Play: George Mason -19½
Doubt rigid Towson group can recover from difficult home loss (80-76) to VCU on Monday. Now they have a major issue on Wednesday as they travel to GMU that has a shutdown defense and is going for the CAA title. Although the current overnight line is high, can’t help supporting coach Larranaga who will push the club no matter the deficit. Technically, the Tigers have an edge in the series versus the spread, but circumstances point to the 6-0 ATS conference record for the Patriots and their 7-1 ATS run overall.

Georgia State is a decent home team. They beat VCU by 10 and in their last 5 games have lost to Delaware by 2, beat Towson by 8, beat VCU, lost to Western Michigan by 2 and beat JMU by 1. The ODU Monarchs are a tough team but this should be a low scoring game. Play the home team plus points!

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Play: Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder have won both games this year head to head both straight up and ATS. Westbrook has really been playing well and he has huge matchup advantage over Ridnour tonight. Also Durant has big advantage over any player that will guard him from the Wolves. MIN just has been struggling losing 4 games in a row verse the spread and straight up. Tonight THUNDER drill MIN and win by 15!
