Los Angeles Angels -110

The Los Angeles Angels are showing solid value as a small home favorite Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox. The Angels are off to a slow start this season, but as a result they are undervalued right now. It's only a matter of time before they get rolling with the talent they have on this roster.

Los Angeles is coming off a solid 4-0 victory last night, and now they send underrated starter Jerome Williams to the bump. As a starter, Williams is 3-1 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.156 WHIP in five outings. The right-hander is 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA and 0.940 WHIP in three home starts.

Gavin Floyd is having a solid season for Chicago as well, but he's 0-2 with a 3.15 ERA through three road starts in 2012. Also, Floyd gave up 6 earned runs over 6 innings in his last start against the Angels. He is now 1-2 with a 6.00 ERA in his last three games against Los Angeles.

This play falls into a system that is 54-19 (74%) over the last 5 seasons. It tells us to bet against any team (CHI WHITE SOX) - terrible offensive team (<=4.2 runs/game) against a very good starting pitcher (ERA<=3.50) (AL), after allowing 9 runs or more. Bet the Angels Wednesday.

NHL Predictions

New York Rangers -125

New York won Game 1 3-0 which included an empty net goal as they outshot the Devils 28-21. New Jersey out played New York for a good part of the game, but failed to get shots through to Henrik Lundqvist. Lundqvist continues to be exceptional during these playoffs, as the win moved him to 9-6-2 with a 1.57 GAA and .940 SV%. Martin Brodeur's numbers have been good, but not quite close to Lundqvist. He is 8-4-1 with a 2.05 GAA and .921 SV%. During the regular season Brodeur had a 2.41 GAA and .908 SV%, compared to Henrik with a 1.97 GAA and .930 SV%. The Game 1 win at home makes the Rangers 33-14-3 on the season at home. They have been beaten 3 times at home during these playoffs, but from what I saw in the first game of this series it lokos like it will be hard for New Jersey to get much going offensively and I don't think the Devils can put up the 2 or 3 goals I think they would need to win tonight in New York. Take note that New Jersey is just 1-4 in their last 5 meetings in New York. Also note that New Jersey is a few points better on the powerplay during these playoffs than the Rangers, but the Devils are killing just 74% of their penalties (compared to the Rangers at 84%). In Game 1 the Rangers went 1 for 4 on the powerplay, while they held the Devils to 0 for 4. The Rangers have held their opponents to 26 shots or fewer in their last 5 games and if the Devils don't manage to get more shots on net they will probably have a tough time finding a way to beat the Rangers. I like New York here in Game 2.

Vegas Experts

LA Dodgers at San Diego
Play: LA Dodgers

Cheap price on the far better team here and we'll jump on it. Despite a loss yesterday, the Dodgers remain 18-5 when favored this season. They have also already taken six of seven in head to head play from the Padres this season. Lefty Chris Capuano gets the start for the visitors this evening (0.44 ERA L3 starts) and he'll be facing a San Diego lineup that's already a terrible 2-13 vs. lefties in 2012 (2.5 runs per game). Padres starter Clayton Richard has an 0-6 TSR as an underdog.
