TEXAS TECH @ ARKANSAS | 03/21 | 6:10 PM EDT
ARKANSAS +1
ANALYSIS: No. 6 Texas Tech vs. No. 3 Arkansas in South Region Round of 32 action. The wrong team is favored here. The Big 12 was better than the SEC this season, no question, but I think oddsmakers are overreacting to Arkansas struggling for a half or so against what is a very good Colgate team in Round 1 and with how Texas Tech beat a meh Utah State team. The Mountain West (Utah State) clearly was overrated after watching what Syracuse did to San Diego State. I will gladly take the point .. not that one point matters much. Note to bettors: Take Hogs on moneyline to win a few extra bucks.

SYRACUSE @ W. VIRGINIA | 03/21 | 5:15 PM EDT
W. VIRGINIA -3.5
ANALYSIS: West Virginia had poor shot selection over the past month and lost four of eight coming into the tournament. But on Friday the Mountaineers put out their best performance against a very good perimeter defense team in Morehead State. West Virginia shot 32-of-63 from the field and 9-of-18 from 3-point land. Syracuse just played its best game of the year, but I’m on West Virginia to be able to recreate its last performance. Mountaineers to cover.
WISCONSIN @ BAYLOR | 03/21 | 2:40 PM EDT
BAYLOR -6.5
ANALYSIS: Wisconsin had the fortune of having a great shooting night against a UNC squad that was taken out of its game and forced to throw up threes in desperation. But that's not likely to happen against Baylor because the Bears are the best 3-point shooting team in the nation at 41.4 percent. They’re all good at it, and they simply feed the hot hand that day. Brilliant and effective. This is the lowest number Baylor has had since -3.5 at West Virginia, a game it won by five. I bet Baylor to cover.
LOYOLA-CHI. @ ILLINOIS | 03/21 | 12:10 PM EDT
LOYOLA-CHI. +7
ANALYSIS: Illinois is playing its best basketball of the season during its eight-game win streak (7-1 ATS). The Illini deserved a No. 1 seed, but they certainly didn’t deserve to face one of the most fundamentally sound basketball teams in the nation in the second round. Loyola was improperly posted as a No. 8, and now here we are. I hate to see either of these teams eliminated at this early stage. Both teams shoot about 50 percent and allow about 40 percent. I took the points with Loyola.
RUTGERS @ HOUSTON | 03/21 | 7:10 PM EDT
HOUSTON -8.5
ANALYSIS: Houston is ruthless with its No. 1 defense that allows only 37.1 percent shooting. The Cougars harass full throttle the entire game regardless of the score. And they always seem to be there to rebound their own missed shots. Their defense paves the way for their offense. Their nonstop defense is what allows them to cover big spreads regularly, going 19-8 ATS this season. Rutgers will have trouble. Houston to win by double digits.

SYRACUSE @ W. VIRGINIA | 03/21 | 5:15 PM EDT
SYRACUSE +4
ANALYSIS: West Virginia isn't great defensively and I look for Buddy Boeheim to continue his hot shooting Sunday. He's 26 of 53 from deep over his last five games. Syracuse's length and 2-3 zone should disrupt the Mountaineers, helping the Orange at least stay close. Look for Syracuse to cover its sixth straight.
LOYOLA-CHI. @ ILLINOIS | 03/21 | 12:10 PM EDT
ILLINOIS -7
ANALYSIS: The Ramblers crushed Georgia Tech on the glass, outrebounding the Yellow Jackets 30-17, grabbing 13 offensive boards and scoring 15 second-chance points. Tech didn't have big man Moses Wright. That advantage will not be there Sunday against Illinois and Kofi Cockburn (17.6 ppg, 9.5 rpg). He and Ayo Dosunmu get most of the headlines, but this is a deep team with multiple shot creators, the nation's best 3-point shooter in Da'Monte Williams and an elite defense that rivals Loyola's. Lay the points.
ORAL ROBERTS @ FLORIDA | 03/21 | 7:45 PM EDT
ORAL ROBERTS +8.5
ANALYSIS: The Golden Eagles knocked off Ohio State and it wasn't a fluke. They shot 35.7 percent overall but committed just six turnovers thanks to their brillant point guard, Max Abmas. Now they're getting 8.5 points against Florida, which gutted out an overtime win over Virginia Tech. It's unclear if Gators third-leading scorer Tyree Appleby (11.2 ppg, 3.2 apg) will play after being knocked out Friday with an elbow to his face. Look for Oral Roberts, which has won six straight, to keep this tight if not win outright.

OREGON ST. @ OKLAHOMA ST. | 03/21 | 9:40 PM EDT
OREGON ST. +6
ANALYSIS: The Beavers continue to stun the college basketball world, winning outright as sizable underdogs. OSU's Cade Cunningham isn't likely to shoot 3 of 14 again like he did versus Liberty, but this is still too many points. In my simulations, Oregon State covers about 60 percent of the time.
SYRACUSE @ W. VIRGINIA | 03/21 | 5:15 PM EDT
SYRACUSE +3.5
ANALYSIS: West Virginia doesn't see a lot of zone defense playing in the Big 12, and one practice day isn't enough to prepare for Syracuse's zone. In addition, Buddy Boeheim is on fire, having averaged 29.3 points and shooting 60.0 percent from 3-point range in his last three games. My simulations say Syracuse covers almost 70 percent of the time and wins by three, so you're getting good value at this number.

RUTGERS +8.5
ANALYSIS: Rutgers has shown great improvement since the middle of January, going 9-5 straight up and ATS. The Scarlet Knights have a very experienced team. Their top six players are either juniors or seniors. Rutgers is 16th in the nation in defensive efficiency. The Scarlet Knights can keep this one close. My model has Houston -5.

CHICAGO -3
ANALYSIS: If not for two dreadful fourth-quarter collapses, Chicago would be on a four-game winning streak. It’s important to note that both of the losses came against teams with winning records. The Bulls are 15-4-1 ATS versus teams that have won fewer than 45 percent of their games, so look for them to bounce back with a victory here and cover along the way.

NEW ORLEANS +6
ANALYSIS: New Orleans has been getting battle-tested, this being its fourth straight game against a Western Conference contender. Being well-rested here, look for the Pelicans to compete in a much-needed game as they slip down the conference standings. New Orleans enters having had two days' rest as it last played on Thursday, when it suffered a 101-93 loss at Portland. The Pelicans are 7-0 ATS (13 ppg) on the road with more than one day of rest when coming off a loss.

HOUSTON -4
ANALYSIS: Should a team on a 19-game losing streak be laying points? Well, John Wall, Victor Oladipo and Christian Wood all are expected to play today against an OKC team missing several key guys. The Thunder are coming off consecutive blowout losses. Lay the points.

NORTH TEXAS @ VILLANOVA | 03/21 | 8:45 PM EDT
VILLANOVA -6
ANALYSIS: This North Texas squad has been torturing me, beginning with the C-USA tournament as it won all four games to capture the title after losing its last three regular-season contests. The Mean Green then beat Purdue on Friday with a strong performance throughout, leading most of the way. But I'm not wavering. Villanova lost its first two without Connor Gillespie, but in the second half of its first-round game, it grew as a team with Justin Moore handling the ball and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl taking charge to get the win. Take the Wildcats to cover.

SYRACUSE +4
ANALYSIS: The line has now inflated to where I think Syracuse is the right side. The 2-3 zone can be difficult for which to prepare if you don't have a lot of time. Over the past five games, Syracuse has a +9.2 point differential, while West Virginia's is +2.6. The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Take the points!
