TAMPA BAY @ DALLAS | 03/02 | 8:30 PM EST
DALLAS +140
ANALYSIS: The Lightning defeated the Stars 5-0 at home on Saturday. They outshot Dallas 21-20, which is not that impressive considering the final score. The Stars are very competitive at home, allowing just 26.5 shots-on-goal per game. They average 3.38 goals per game while allowing 2.25. On the road, Tampa Bay is averaging 3.00 goals per game while allowing 2.44. I think is line is way too high and see good value on the home team.

TAMPA BAY -1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Lightning win in almost 70 percent of the simulations, so you're getting strong value with them. Tampa Bay is riding a four-game winning streak that includes a pair of shutouts, including one against Dallas at home on Saturday. The loss was the eighth in nine contests for the Stars, who have scored a total of three goals in their last three setbacks. Dallas has dropped four straight at home. Expect the slide to continue on Tuesday.
PHOENIX @ L.A. LAKERS | 03/02 | 10:00 PM EST
PHOENIX +1.5
ANALYSIS: My model says the Suns cover in almost 70 percent of the simulations, so you're getting excellent value at this number. Phoenix has won 14 of its last 17 overall contests and four straight on the road. The Suns also are 6-0 ATS in their last six as road underdogs. They've averaged 121.5 points over their last 10 games while allowing 108.4 in that span. The latter number is even higher than what the Lakers have been averaging (107) over their last 10 outings. Take the Suns.

AUBURN @ ALABAMA | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
ALABAMA -10.5
ANALYSIS: Sharife Cooper (20.2 ppg, 8.1 apg) is officially questionable for Auburn's rivalry game at Alabama, but it doesn't sound like he's going to play. He's missed two straight and was unable to practice Sunday, though he is traveling to Tuscaloosa. Cooper had 26 points in the first meeting, a 94-90 Tide win on the Plains. Alabama has wrapped up the regular-season title but beating Auburn is paramount. Over the past two games, the Tide have shot well below their season average from 3-point range. Look for them to get back on track at home, and cover.
WISCONSIN @ PURDUE | 03/02 | 9:00 PM EST
PURDUE -1.5
ANALYSIS: The Badgers have lost four of six, the two victories coming against Nebraska and Northwestern. Since a loss at Michigan, the Boilermakers have won five of seven with the losses coming by one and three points. In fact, Purdue is 9-1 at home with the only blemish coming against the Wolverines. Look for the home team to improve to 6-1-1 ATS in the past eight meetings.

ANALYSIS: The Wizards have covered eight of nine and are kicking themselves for blowing a late lead in Boston. During that nine-game stretch, the only game Washington did not cover was on the second night of a back-to-back versus the Clippers. Memphis has been up and down and is coming off its best offensive performance. Grab the home dog.

L.A. CLIPPERS @ BOSTON | 03/02 | 7:30 PM EST
L.A. CLIPPERS -4
ANALYSIS: It’s been a rough stretch for the Celtics, who have lost six of their last 10 games. They have been a better team at home this season, but the Clippers have been strong on the road, posting an 11-7 record ATS there. To complicate matters for Boston, Jaylen Brown (knee) is listed as questionable after sitting out on Sunday. Even if he plays, I think Los Angeles can cover this spread. If he’s forced to sit, this could get ugly for the Celtics in a hurry.
MEMPHIS @ WASHINGTON | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
WASHINGTON +1
ANALYSIS: The Wizards have been a much-improved team lately. They lost a close contest against Boston on Sunday, but they are still 7-2 over their last nine games. They aren’t just beating up on bad teams either, considering they posted wins over the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland and Denver (twice) during that stretch. Look for Washington to emerge with a win here as well.

DENVER @ MILWAUKEE | 03/02 | 9:00 PM EST
MILWAUKEE -7
ANALYSIS: Denver has not risen to the challenge in its toughest spots this season, going 0-4 ATS as an underdog of at least three points and losing each of those games by at least 13. In a tough spot in the middle of a road trip with no rest, do not expect the Nuggets to buck that trend. This is the largest line Denver has faced this season, playing to an average line of -3.9 points thus far. Teams that are at least six-point underdogs when their average line on the season is -3 or better are __________
Matt Severance
MEMPHIS @ WASHINGTON | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
WASHINGTON +1
ANALYSIS: The wrong team is favored in my opinion as Washington is playing very well of late, even if the team gagged away what looked like a sure win in Boston on Sunday. The Grizzlies for sure are down Grayson Allen (9.3 ppg) and perhaps Kyle Anderson (13.6 ppg, 6.2 rpg) as well. The Wizards have covered four straight at home.
OHIO @ KENT ST. | 03/02 | 6:00 PM EST
KENT ST. -2
ANALYSIS: It's the home finale for Kent State, which is 9-2 SU in its home gym with three ATS losses. The Golden Flashes also won by at Ohio U. by 10 back on Jan. 16, so I see no reason they won't cover this small number. Danny Pippen led KSU with 22 points, eight rebounds and two blocks in the first meeting and will be one of three seniors honors before this one. His nine double-doubles lead the MAC. The Bobcats, meanwhile, have covered just one of their past seven vs. teams with a winning percentage above .600.

BOWLING GREEN -5.5
ANALYSIS: The RedHawks lost at Akron in their last game and are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss. They're also 0-5-1 ATS in their last six as an underdog. Bowling Green was my preseason pick to win the MAC, and all was well till the Falcons hit a wall at the end of January and lost six straight. But they’ve righted the ship and have won and covered their last four, all on the road beginning with a win at first-place Toledo. Take Bowling Green to cover Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA @ PITTSBURGH | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
PHILADELPHIA -120
ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh will be without superstar Sidney Crosby, who leads the team in scoring with seven goals and 11 assists. He's in COVID protocols, and that shifted this line toward Philly. The Penguins' special teams have not been good in the early going as their power-play percentage (15.0) and penalty-kill percentage (72.1) are both among the league's worst. Philly has been solid enough on the road at 5-2-1 and welcomes top forward Travis Konency back from COVID protocols. He has five goals and three assists in 12 games. The Flyers have won five of the past seven in the series.

MIAMI (OHIO) @ BOWLING GREEN | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
BOWLING GREEN -5.5
ANALYSIS: It's Senior Night at Bowling Green, and the Falcons have unfinished business with the RedHawks. Miami embarrassed Bowling Green 96-77 on Jan. 21. The Falcons have recovered from a midseason slide to win four straight, the last three by double digits. And the development of freshman guard Kaden Metheny has been key. He's averaging 19.8 points during the winning streak and has nailed 11 of his last 20 from deep. Lay the points.
WAKE FOREST @ PITTSBURGH | 03/02 | 6:00 PM EST
PITTSBURGH -5
ANALYSIS: The Panthers played much better than I expected on Sunday at NC State, and I expect a bigger performance tonight in their home finale. The Demon Deacons have lost each of their past four games by at least 18 points. This is a nice payback spot after Wake Forest beat Pitt 76-75 at home Jan. 23. Lay the points.
DETROIT @ N. KENTUCKY | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
DETROIT -1.5
ANALYSIS: Led by Antoine Davis, the Titans have been money on the road, going 8-1-1 ATS in their last 10. He'll have another big game in the Horizon quarterfinals at Northern Kentucky. Detroit was ineligible for last season's conference tournament due to low APR scores, so the Titans are going to make the most of their chances now. Look for the favorite to improve to 8-3 ATS in the past 11 meetings.

ARKANSAS @ SOUTH CAROLINA | 03/02 | 6:30 PM EST
ARKANSAS -6.5
ANALYSIS: South Carolina came up with a blowout win at Georgia on Saturday to end a six-game losing streak (1-5 ATS). The Razorbacks have won and covered their last six, including a blowout of first-place Alabama, and are sending a message to the SEC that they deserve to be the favorites in the conference tournament. The aggressive defense has been the main story for so much success during the win streak. Arkansas gets the cover.

WINNIPEG -120
ANALYSIS: The Jets were swept last night 4-0 at home by Thatcher Demko and the Canucks. Expect a much better effort tonight with both teams starting their backup goalies. The Jets simply weren’t ready to play last night so expect a much better effort from them tonight.
OTTAWA @ MONTREAL | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
OTTAWA +1.5
ANALYSIS: The Senators have been scoring like one of the best teams in the league recently while the Canadiens just fired their head coach after a poor stretch following a good start to the season. I love the value on the Sens' puck line at -114. The Senators are actually 3-1 against the Canadiens this season, take the value in the Senators puck line.
PHILADELPHIA @ PITTSBURGH | 03/02 | 7:00 PM EST
PHILADELPHIA -120
ANALYSIS: Carter Hart is back in net for the Flyers and Sidney Crosby is out due to COVID protocol. The Penguins are returning home where they have a 7-1 record but the Flyers are coming off back to back 3-0 shutout wins against the Sabres. The Flyers have won both games they’ve played this season, although they have been at home.

NEW YORK @ SAN ANTONIO | 03/02 | 8:30 PM EST
NEW YORK -1
ANALYSIS: What year is this that the Knicks are favored at the Spurs!?! With a win tonight, the Knicks could secure a record above .500 at the All-Star Break for the first time since 2012-13. It appears San Antonio, which had to play into overtime in Monday's home loss to Brooklyn, will be quite short-handed with LaMarcus Aldridge, Derrick White, Rudy Gay and Devin Vassell at a minimum expected out due to injury/protocols. Maybe 1-2 others as well. Consider a wager, too, on the Knicks on the first-half line as they have covered 13 games in a row on that spread (see news feed story).

ANALYSIS: The Penguins didn't have Darius Quisenberry in their two losses to Oakland this season. He's back, and he averages 14.6 points and 2.9 assists. In fact, Youngstown State is 7-1 since his return. Look for the underdog to improve to 8-3 ATS in the past 11 meetings.

GEORGIA TECH -1.5
ANALYSIS: Duke has won 14 straight over the Yellow Jackets, but I think the streak ends on Senior Night in Atlanta. Look for big games from seniors Jose Alvarado and Moses Wright; both played extremely well in the first matchup with Duke, a narrow Blue Devils' win, and they know this likely will be their last shot to beat Coach K. Tech has won four in a row and has won 13 of its last 14 ACC games at home. Lay the small number.

Betting Line Provider: Consensus Line
Play Rating: 4%
Play: Milwaukee Bucks -6.5 (-110)
Play: Milwaukee Bucks -6.5
The Bucks are in a favorable spot despite an emotional Sunday afternoon win over the Clippers. Milwaukee defeated a quality opponent, executing well to make crucial plays down the stretch in posting a comeback win over L.A. Considering Jrue Holiday was just returning from a COVID hiatus and was noticeably rusty, having him out on the floor to make winning plays as he managed to provide a huge boost. Denver won on Monday night in comeback fashion too, overcoming the Bulls in a physical game in which Nikola Jokic was masterful but was forced to play nearly 39 minutes. The Nuggets are extremely depleted and should run out of gas after an initial surge since a bench made up of guard P.J. Dozier and big forwards Zeke Nnaji, Vlatko Cancar and Isaiah Hartenstein won’t offer much help. Denver led 62-59 at Ball Arena when these teams played on and Jokic finished with 35 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, but visiting Milwaukee was able to find itself in outscoring the Nuggets 66-50 in the second half to coast 125-112. I look for the Bucks to similarly handle business at Fiserv Forum, pulling away in the fourth to win and cover. Lay the points with a Bucks as a 4% play.

Date/Time: Mar 2 2021 10:05 PM EST
Betting Line Provider: Consensus Line
Play Rating: 4%
Play: Total Under 213.5
Play: Under 213.5
Analysis: The Lakers have been a strong under team so far this and have gone under in six of their last seven games. The Suns have been a strong under team on the road as they are 10-4-2 to the under this season, including their last two.The Lakers and Suns are the two slowest paced teams in the league in their last five games and the Lakers have the fourth worst offensive rating in that same timeframe. When it comes to defense, both teams are in the top five in defensive rating this season. There is no question the Lakers have been struggling offensively without Anthony Davis, they average nearly four points less per game without him. The Suns average four points less per game on the road while maintaining their defensive efficiency.I am expecting a slow paced, defensive game between these two high level teams. I think the total is inflated just a bit due to both teams scoring over 115 in each of their previous games, I have this game closer to 212.
