The Lakers have lost two of their last three visits to Toronto. Looking back further and we find them at just 3-6-2 ATS the last 11 times they traveled here. Tonight will be a tough spot as they're coming off a hard-fought defeat at Detroit, while the Raptors had yesterday off.
I expect last night's loss to take its toll on the "Bynum-less" visitors tonight. That's because the Lakers, now 1-4 their last five, were on the verge of being blown out (trailed by as many as 17) but battled all the way back to give themselves a chance at the win. In fact, it appeared they would score the upset right up until Tayshaun Prince hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds remaining. That's a tough pill to swallow and should have made for a rather "gloomy" trip to Canada.
The last time that Los Angeles played the second of back-to-back games, they failed to cover, winning by only two points vs. a Seattle squad which was mired in the midst of a major losing streak. Despite earning the SU win in that game, the Lakers are still just 5-6 SU the last 11 times that they played the second of back-to-back games.
Tonight, L.A. will face a Toronto team which is a healthy 14-8 SU/ATS at home for the season. That doesn't tell the whole story though, as they've been dominant here of late. Indeed, the Raptors have won six straight games on this floor, going a perfect 6-0 against the number. All six victories came by a minimum of seven points and by an average of 21.
Additionally, note that the Raptors were a highly profitable 17-4 ATS in the month of February the past couple of seasons. Consider laying the points with the home team.

Reason: This is the team Kobe laid 81 points on: the Raptors won't let that happen again. Lakers off close loss last night in Detroit with Lamar Odom missing the final shot. Before that was the loss in Cleveland with Luke Walton playing "I got it, you take it" with Kobe at the buzzer till time ran out. That was eerily reminiscent of a game last you Walton botched at the buzzer that sent Kobe into a tizzy. You can bet he was seething Sunday and is almost full blown "can't trust the teammates" mode without Andrew Bynum. Toronto playing very well with inside-out punch of Bosh and all those three-point shooters. Take Toronto!

They also already have a conference loss to Yale, albeit in overtime, and Cornell has gone 5-1 straight up in the last six head-to-head meetings, including a season sweep last year.
Finally, the visiting team is an amazing 11-1-1 ATS in the last 13 head-to-head meetings, and we look for Big Red to keep that trend going with an outright win.
