CBB Sides Double-Dime Bet
Louisville -13.5 vs Boise St.
Analysis: The Big East flexed its muscles on Thursday in going 4-0 SU & ATS in its first four opening-round games. Now it's Louisville's turn, and the Cardinals could very well be the team that advances the farthest from the conference. I think there's a good comparison between this game to college football's recent Sugar Bowl mismatch between Georgia and Hawaii. While Boise State has been impressive at times, the Broncos are stepping up big time in terms of the class of their opponent here and simply can't compete with Louisville's talent. The Cardinals also have more size and depth and should be able to dispose of Boise easily. Look for Louisville's defense to get the best of the Broncos and the offense to get back on track after two straight losses. The Cardinals remain 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games and will get another easy cover here, so bet them as my Double Dime NCAA Tournament First Round Play O' the Week.
NBA Total Single-Dime Bet
LAL / SEA Over 220
We have a pair of the Top 4 OVER refs working this game again in Joe Forte and Phil Robinson, who has seen the OVER go 14-3 when the total is 205 or higher this season. The OVER is also 9-3 in Seattle's last 12 games, which included a monster 168-116 loss at Denver last Sunday. The total has gone OVER in three of LA's last four home games as well. The Lakers are coming off a pair of big road wins and might have tired legs in this one, so I expect their defense to be a little off against the Sonics. Finally, the OVER is 7-2 in LA's last nine Friday games, so look for another high-scoring game at the Staples Center and bet the OVER as my Single Dime NBA Total Play O' the Day.

Seattle vs. Lakers
Today's Pick: SEATTLE SONICS
The Lakers are heavy favorites here. However, I feel that the situation favors the visiting Sonics. The Lakers come off four straight huge road games, facing the Hornets, Rockets, Mavericks and Jazz. They also have a big "home and home" series vs. the Warriors on deck. In other words, it will be easy to overlook the lowly Sonics. The game vs. the Jazz came last night, which is worth noting, as the Lakers lost outright as six point favorites the last time (2/29 at Portland) that they played the second of back to back games. The Sonics, who had last night off, have gone 4-1-1 ATS the last six meetings in this series, including back to back pointspread victories their last two trips to LA. Don't be surprised if they keep things closer than expected once again on Saturday. Consider taking the points. Take the Sonics.

St. Joseph's vs. Oklahoma
Today's Pick: ST. JOSEPHS
It's nice to see Phil Martelli back in the Big Dance with St Joe's, a school he led to four NCAA appearances from 1997 through 2004. The Hawks are not a good defensive team but they are a challenge to guard. The 6-10 Calathes (17.8-7.5) shoots 40.3 percent from behind the three-point arc and the 6-8 Ferguson (11.6-4.8) makes 43.8 percent of his threes. The team's other frontcourt starter, the 6-9 Nivins (14.4-4.9), doesn't stray outside but connects on 64.5 percent of his FGs. Guards Carr (10.9-4.9-5.6) and Govens (9.7) complete the starting five. Temple is not particularly deep but neither is Oklahoma. The Oklahoma guards, Crocker (11.5), Johnson (8.8) and Godbold (6.9-4.1) play excellent perimeter defense but are offensively challenged. In the frontcourt, there's 6-10 freshman Blake Griffin (15.0-9.4), 6-11 senior Longar Longar (11.6-5.7) and Blake's older brother Taylor (6.5-4.8), a 6-7 junior. Blake Griffin tore something in his right knee late in the season but somehow missed just one game (I don't get it?). Longar Longar (love that name) has been hobbled by a fractured bone above his ankle since early February, but keeps on playing. I know the Sooners are capable of playing great defense but I think they are a one-and-done team this year. If Calathes and Ferguson get hot from behind the arc, it will be a rout! Take St Joe's.

3* on Georgetown -16.5
Georgetown is worth every penny as a big favorite against MD-Balt. County Friday. Georgetown is 19-7 ATS versus poor pressure defensive teams - forcing <=14 turnovers/game over the last 3 seasons. The Hoyas thrive on pressuring teams with the best defense in the country. This will be MD-Balt County’s toughest opponent of the season and they won’t be ready for the effort the Hoyas give them. Georgetown will dominate the paint as they always do and force their opponents to shoot from the outside. Georgetown is 25-14 ATS after having won 5 or 6 of their last 7 games over the last 2 seasons. Bet Georgetown Friday.
