Wisconsin vs Davidson

Premium Pick - Wisconsin -4.5

On paper, many people are going to see that Davidson appears to be the better team. They shoot better and they score more. The issue is that the only team they have played that is even close to the caliber of team that Wisconsin is, would be Georgetown. Lightning will not strike for Davidson twice this year with Michael Flowers in the face of Stephen Curry all night. It will come down to the players surrounding Curry, and they simply aren’t good enough to carry this team to a victory. With Curry being contained by the Big Ten’s best defender the Wildcats will struggle and ultimately fall to a much more fundamental team in Wisconsin.

Texas -2 over Stanford
Both teams are evenly matched. Texas has the better athletes and Stanford has the size. This game is all about location and the Longhorns will have 80% of the fans if not more in the house. When this game gets down to crunch time Texas will pull away.

Davidson +5 over Wisconsin
Could it be a Cinderella year? Probably not, but I think Davidson can play against this Wisconsin style defense. Davidson knocked off Georgetown who had a great defense. Stephen Curry is going to have to have a big game to pull the upset. Davidson has the talent to play against this style of team. This game should go to the wire. Let's hope for an outright upset!

Villanova +12 over Kansas

The Cardinal will take their Lopez twins and their questionable guard play up against Texas' exceptional guard play and their questionable post presence. The Cardinal are 4-1 ATS their last five overall, and will be taking on the Longhorns who are 0-8 ATS in their last 8 NCAA Tournament games as a favorite of 0.5-6.5. In the win over Marquette, the Lopez Twins combined for 48 points, 13 boards and four blocks. Mitch Johnson dished out 16 assists, a career high for him. They needed every one as the Golden Eagles took them to OT. Tonight, they get a Texas team that can shoot the lights out. The Cardinal's defense on the perimeter has to be exceptional to slow down Texas outside game. I believe they can defend with the best of them, as proven by their 13th best field goal percentage defense. I love Stanford tonight by six.

Villanova is 6-0 ATS in their last six against the Big 12, including a win over these Jayhawks 83-62 back in January of '05. The Wildcats are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and are 14-4 ATS in their last 18 neutral site games as an underdog. They are also 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as an underdog of 7.0-12.5. As for Kansas, they are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite of 7.0-12.5 and are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. Big East. The Jayhawks are clearly the more talented team, we all know that. However, I love perimeter oriented teams getting big spreads in the tournament. That way, you can always shoot your way into the cover. Case in point - Western Kentucky last night and NOT Washington St. Nova gets the cover
