No. 4 Kentucky is 10½-point home ‘chalk’ at BroburySports. The game is on ESPN at 7 pm ET, right before Michigan State (+2½) at Wisconsin, another doozy.

Kentucky (20-1 SU, 10-9 ATS) became No. 1 in the land just last Monday. That ranking was short lived as they proceeded to lose the next night at South Carolina 68-62.

Freshman big man DeMarcus Cousins had 27 points, but it wasn’t enough as guard Devan Downey had 30 for South Carolina. Cousins has been playing great the last four games as he considers making himself eligible for the NBA draft like John Wall. Wall has been struggling shooting a bit lately.

The Wildcats returned home on Saturday, getting the win and ‘cover’ versus Vanderbilt. Vandy is ranked in the top-25, but Kentucky is very hard to beat at home (14-0 straight-up). They’re also 4-1 ATS in their last five home games.

Kentucky has four players scoring in double-digits, led by Wall (16.9 PPG). They have the inside and outside game to win a national title, the only thing that could hold them back is their three freshmen starters.

We’ll see how they respond against Mississippi on Tuesday.

Ole Miss is road tested

No. 25 Mississippi (16-5 SU, 11-6 ATS) has been tested on the road the last six weeks. It started at West Virginia right before Christmas. They lost 76-66, but got the ‘cover’ as 11 ½-point ‘dogs.

The Rebels have played four road games in the SEC. They won three of them, only losing at Tennessee in overtime. They’ve also gone 3-1 ATS.

The team is led by two scoring guards, Chris Warren (16.9 PPG) and Terrico White (15 PPG). They pace the team to an 80.9 scoring average, about one point less than Kentucky (82.2 PPG).

Ole Miss doesn’t get a lot of scoring help inside, unlike Kentucky, and that could be their downfall in this game.

The ‘under’ has gone 4-1 for Ole Miss in the last five games. The ‘under’ is 7-1 in Kentucky’s last eight home games.
