NBA Mavericks vs. Warriors Picks & Predictions for Thursday, January 31, 2013
By ATSSportsline.com

OAKLAND, CA (ATS Consultants) – Will the Warriors make it three in a row when they host the Mavericks at 10:30PM ET? Or will Dallas pull off the small upset?

Last game: (11/19/12). Golden State (+5.5) over DALLAS, 105-101ot. The Dallas Mavs (19-26 SU, 25-20 ATS, 28-16-1 O/U) are trying to get over the hump and to get to .500. They lost at Portland on Tuesday, 106-104, getting 3. Golden State (28-17 SU, 26-18-1 ATS, 28-16-1 O/U) is coming off a four-game road trip, where they won the last two, including a 108-95 win over Cleveland on Tuesday, giving 1.5.

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Warriors as 3-point favorites versus the Mavericks, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 205.5 points. Dallas is 19-26 overall and 7-17 on the road, while Golden State is 28-17 overall and 14-6 at home.

LINE MOVEMENT: The line opened with Golden State as a 3.5-point favored and moved to 3 in most books. The total opened at 206 and remained there in most books.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the current wagers placed on tonight’s game, 69% of NBA public bettors currently favor the Warriors. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided to get the most updated public betting numbers.

NBA FREE PICK: Take Dallas. According to latest NBA trends, the road team is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings. Dallas is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Pacific, 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest, 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall, 8-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. Western Conference and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. Golden State is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games and is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. The Mavericks are coming off a tough, last-second 106-104 loss at Portland on Tuesday. Dirk Nowitzki compiled a season-high 26 points to lead all five starters in double figures, but Dallas was outscored 12-3 over the final 1:37, including LaMarcus Aldridge's game-winning turnaround jumper at the buzzer. Golden State had dropped six straight in the series before taking three of the last five, including a 105-101 overtime win at Dallas on Nov. 19. Stephen Curry had 31 points in that game while Klay Thompson finished with seven on 2-of-14 shooting. But Curry has been hampered by a sprained ankle and is not likely to play tonight. Expect the Mavs to bounce back from the tough loss and take advantage of the Golden State bench, which is thin. Jarrett Jack is a solid starter, but much better off the bench for the Warriors
