January 30, 2009
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Michigan guard Zack Novak was suspended one game for his flagrant foul and subsequent ejection in the loss to Ohio State.
The freshman will not be available for Saturday's game at Purdue, Michigan athletic officials announced Friday.
Novak elbowed Ohio State's P.J. Hill in the face late in the Buckeyes' 72-54 victory on Wednesday. Michigan coach John Beilein called the behavior ``unacceptable.''
Novak is averaging 6.7 points for the Wolverines (14-7, 4-5 Big Ten). Novak, of Chesterton, Ind., has started nine games.
