1000* - Oregon State Beavers

After bad-mouthing the under .500 Beavers for getting into this tourney, I now have to eat my words, as Oregon State is now in this best-of-three CBI Final.

Have to side with the host once again, as State has won and covered ALL 3 in this tournament to get to this final, the last pair coming in overtime. Must be something in the water up in Corvallis, and I am not about to go against the Beavers home "mojo" in this spot.

UTEP may be the better of the 2 teams, but the Miners know in the back of their mind, they do have a home game in this series on Wednesday to fall back on if they can't figure out how to win at the Gill Coliseum this go'round.

Oregon State has covered 9 of their 15 lined home games this year, and I like them to cover here tonight.

Take the Beavers in Game 1.

4 Unit Play. Take the Under 212.5 between the New York Knicks @ the Utah Jazz

That's now 4 straight winners in the NBA as I want to thank you for your patience while I was able to correct several of my numbers and consequently we have produced another winning week in the nba - our 9th of 14. Let's look forward to cashing our 5th straight nba play today. If you wait closer to game time, you might be able to get a better line at 213 today as there are several 213's out there. For starters, Utah has revenge in this game from an earlier loss to the Knicks 107-99 in NY which is part of the reason why this line is so high - besides the fact its in Utah and the Jazz are notorious for covering at home nearing the playoffs. These two teams have only met once this year. That game went well under as it totaled 189 on a total set at 207 in NY. The Knicks have been struggling on the road SU lately but have been a solid 4-1 ATS on the highway. They do come off a SU loss and ATS loss to the Bobcats on the road. The Jazz come off a win against Phoenix at home albeit that game went well under too as even with the OT the game totaled 203 (the line was set at 230). The Jazz have played in 5 of 6 unders and 7 of 10 unders of late as it seems their defensive intensity is picking up as the playoff approaches. The Knicks have played in 8 of 10 unders as well. What has caught my attention is the fact the Sloan has essentially told his team that if they are to plan on winning this playoff season, it will be thorugh their defense. Consequently, the Jazz have held teams such as the Suns to 99 points (w/overtime), the Rockets to 86, OKC to 94 and Washington to 88 of late. Tack that on with the revenge of the Knicks, this team will look to play tighter defense today with that in mind. I use prototype games when I make selections. A prototype game to this is when NY went on the road to Orlando and lost 103-110 as the game totaled 214. Remember, NY had revenge in that game as it was a near home and home. Now, it is Utah that has the revenge in this game. Again, there are several 213 lines out there and maybe even some 213.5, but we'll take the 212.5 as well as I have this game falling around 205. The Jazz had revenge against the Suns from a loss and look what they did on defense - limiting this team to 100 with the overtime session. The Knicks/Magic game went to 213 and that was with the Knicks with revenge essentially with a home and home - so why can this not go uner 212.5 when the Jazz have revenge? The Under is 5-0 for the Knicks when they are an Underdog, the Under is 8-1 for the Knicks Overall and the Under is 9-0 for the Jazz in their last 9 home games.
