Indian Cowboy
Sport: NBA Basketball
Game: Atlanta Hawks @ Orlando Magic - Monday December 10, 2007 7:00 pm
Pick: 3 unit(s) TOTAL: Under 194.5

I have consistently tracked the Atlanta Hawks progression and their unders and they have now hit the under 9 of their last 10 games. With the terrible game against the Pacers, the Magic are going to be looking specifically to improve their defense as Keyon Dooling stated to the AP and Stan Van Gundy wants more efficient basketball with less turnovers so I expect a slower pace today. My Hawks are not a very good road team when playing the better teams in the league and they do have trouble scoring such as not scoring 80 at Chicago. The Hawks are a solid defensive team but at the same time go through their respective scoring lulls in the 3rd quarter to aid the under as well. Rather, than the side, I will take the under as the under is 4-0 for the Hawks in their last 4 road games and the under is 4-0 for the Magic following a straight up loss.

The Duke's Sports

NBA:

Atlanta (+9') for 2 Units
Atlanta/Orlando 7:00: Although there is no question which is the best team here, the Hawks have played Orlando tough: Atlanta sports a 8-3 ATS mark in its last 11 vs Orlando, including 2-0 SU/ATS in its last 2 games of this series. We do realize that the Magic are much better this season under Van Gundy, but could find this spot troublesome with one of their key defensive stoppers - Bogans - slowed with a deep thigh bruise. And keep in mind that Atlanta's hot shot - Joe Johnson dropped an average of 30 ppg in the last 4 of this series. With Atlanta covering 3 of its last 4 road tilts, we'll look for them to be competitive here

Marco D'Angelo | NBA Total Single-Dime Bet
SAC / MIL Under 198.5

Analysis: Tonight Milwaukee makes the final stop on a 5 game road trip. I expect this Game to be played in the 90's tonight which would send this game easily Under the Total. Milwaukee is finishing up a 5 game road trip tonight. Expect them to try and slow the pace as this is their 3rd game in 4 nights and last night's game was an overtime game. Expect them to have a poor shooting % from the floor tonight as they have to be tired and tired legs result in shots coming up short. I expect both teams to struggle trying to get into the 90's so I'm going under. TAKE MILWAUKEE/SACRAMENTO UNDER as MARCO'S NBA PLAY OF THE DAY and make them a SINGLE DIME PLAY.

Dr. Bob
Monday NBA Opinion
PHILADELPHIA (+6) over Houston

I’m scratching my head a little trying to figure out why the line on this game is Houston by 6 points. The Rockets played, and lost, yesterday while the 76ers are rested. Home court advantage with a rested home team against an unrested visitor is 4.7 points, which would mean that Houston would have to be almost 11 points better than the Sixers to justify this line. Philadelphia has been out-scored by only 1.2 points this year against a schedule that is only 0.1 points worse than average (including factoring in rest scenarios for each game). The 76ers aren’t actually that good, as their median game rating is 2.5 points worse than average, which is an appropriate rating. Houston has out-scored their opponents by 1.6 points this season, but they played 2 ½ games without star Tracy McGrady. In the 18 games in which McGrady started and finished the Rockets have out-scored their opponents by 2.9 points playing a schedule that is 1.5 points tougher than average. So, the Rockets are 4.4 points better than average with McGrady playing. If Houston is +4.4 points and Philadelphia is -2.5 points and the home court advantage for a rested home team against an unrested road team is 4.7 points then Houston should be favored by 2 points in this game. There are no significant injuries on either side and I’ll lean with Philadelphia plus the points based on the line value.

MIKE LINEBACK

4* Dallas Mavericks Spread -4.5 for 1st Half -110

Strongly believe Dallas come out strong & fast tonight
(intense on D) in order to break the fragile NY Knicks psyche early. Knicks
playing 3 in 4 nights’ and coming off another embarrassing loss vs. Philadelphia on Saturdayin MSG (75-105). Team has no leadership, on & off the field, no O chemistry
& lack motivation & pride. Team has given up on head coach Thomas &
are easily ‘mentally’ defeated. As a result, strongly believe Dallas will take advantage of this opportunity, to get aneasy win, with Toronto on deck for Wednesday.

4* New York Knicks Total Points TEAM UNDER 97 for Game -110

If Dallas comes out strong & takes New York out of their game, which I think they will, points will come at a premium for the Knicks as they normally give up in this situation. On the other hand, if game is competitive, Dallas have the ability to shut down thestruggling Knicks in crunch time. In addition, can’t see Dallas taking this gamefor granted giving their recent problems on road. Hence, have hard time seeing NY scoring more than 97 points tonight.

Play On: 3* Houston -6
Houston is 3-1 SU and ATS overall vs Philadelphia last 3 years including 2-0 SU and ATS at Philadelphia. Houston is 8-2 SU and 9-1 ATS at Philadelphia since 1996. Philadelphia is 55-82 ATS at home when the line is between 6 and 7 1/2. Philadelphia is 125-159 ATS after 2 ATS wins. We'll play Houston for 3 units tonight! Thanks and good luck, Rocky
