MATT RIVERS

For Monday take the Cavaliers down in South Beach

If this is the game that snaps the 13 game losing streak for the Heat then so be it but until Pat Riley's gutless piece of garbage team shows anything at all then I'll back King James and the visiting Cavs.

I cannot say that I completely trust Cleveland in this spot laying points on the highway and especially not when they just won and covered on Christmas Day in this same matchup but let's face it, the Heat players have quit and that was evidenced yet again in that last loss at home to the Knicks.

I cannot explain how Dwyane Wade, Shaw and the rest of the semi talented and former champs from a few years ago can have single digit wins this late into the season but not only is that the case but things don't seem to have any hope of improving. Miami has shown less than nothing over the entire season and for sure over the last few weeks.

Like I said above, if this is the game that Miami comes to play, which I guess could happen in this TNT scenario and we see a little rejuvenation, then so be it but the way things have gone I'll take my chances on a superstar in LeBron and at the very least a mediocre team in the Cavs.

Michael Cannon

Take the Mavericks as the small road chalk this afternoon over the Wizards.
Big revenge spot for Dallas. Washington dealt Dallas its first home loss of the season, 110-98, in late November.

The Mavs have clamped down on the defensive end, so don't expect Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler to go crazy here like they did back in the first meeting when they combined for 62 points.

Dallas is 13-3 SU in its last 16 games.

Take the Mavericks as they grab the road win and cover this afternoon over Washington.

2* DALLAS

Larry Ness

Houston over Seattle

This is a brutally tough road situation for the Sonics as this will be the fourth consecutive game away from home. Saturday?s game in Dallas was a big one for star rookie Durant but the Sonics came up well short. Seattle has lost S/U in ten consecutive games with only two spread covers in that span of losing. Houston has been playing excellent basketball despite the injuries and the Rockets are coming off a big win over San Antonio. The defensive numbers are not even comparable in this game as Houston is a vastly superior defensive team and Seattle is allowing over 48 percent shooting in the last five games. The Rockets are riding a 7-2 ATS run and Houston has battle the #1 strength of schedule in the entire NBA. The Sonics are just 6-14 ATS on the road this season despite catching big spreads in many of those games. Look for Houston to control this game and come up with a lopsided win.

Minnesota (5-34) at Golden St (25-17)

The TWolves have struggled badly. They are 1-20 on the road (Ouch). They have just 3 wins vs the West. The Warriors are just 4 games behind the Suns. They are led by Baron Davis 22.4 and Stephen Jackson 20.3.This will be a blowout in Oakland today.

Take Golden St
