WUNDERDOG

Game: Texas at Seattle
Pick: Seattle -1.5 runs +130

Texas certainly hasn't been much on the road, as they had the fewest wins in all of baseball on the road last season with just 28. Kevin Millwood certainly didn't aid that cause as the Rangers did not win a road game started by Millwood after the middle of June. That was nine consecutive starts. Eric Bedard won 12 of his last 13 starts last season for a team that didn't swing the bats very well, yet 10 of those 13 games were won by two runs or more. Amazingly, of Bedard's 13 wins last season every single one of them was by two runs or more. He now has a much more dependable lineup to produce even more runs. With the futility of Millwood and the Rangers on the road combined with the success of Bedard, we will play the runline in this one with the host Mariners.

Winning Points

***BEST BET
Toronto* over Charlotte by 15

Raptors catch a bad team at a good time. Charlotte concluded a West Coast road trip on Saturday night and after the long flight home, don't have enough time to regroup and recoup. The Bobcats are giddy off three straight wins to conclude that trip with a 3-1 record -- laurels to rest on for a while. When they reach down to find some of that energy, they won't be finding it. TORONTO, 108-93.

VEGAS-RUNNER

STL CARDINALS -110 (2*)....this was one of the first plays that we liked for this afternoon and its nice to find out a little while later that the Sharps also went ahead and Steamed it...just hope that we can get off to the type of MLB Season we had the last 2 because even though as the Season progresses we have more data to analyze....so do the oddsmakers and sometimes its early on that you can really do some damage and find some Value because you may not see lines like this after a month or so...

Charlotte Bobcats +2 at home versus the Toronto Raptors

I am going with the desperate team here that is surging with confidence off of 3 straight road wins out west, one of those being the Lakers. The Bobcats have 45 losses and trail the Hawks by 5 games in their quest to be expunged by the Celtics in the first round. A loss here would put the kabosh on any chance since they must also overtake the Nets, Bulls and Pacers. The Raptors spread their defensive legs against the Hornets on Sunday as New Orleans shot 60% from the field in besting Toronto by 7, though the final score was not indicative of victors’ domination. The Bobcats are rested and desperate and should manage to keep their hopes on a respirator.

Scott Delaney

30* BRADLEY

The Braves were hoping to make it a third-straight 20-win season, they were hoping they’d run through the Missouri Valley Conference schedule and tournament and eventually get to the postseason. And when I say postseason, of course I am talking about the Big Dance.

Instead, an injury-plagued season put a damper on Bradley’s plans. Fortunately, an inaugural, start-up tourney called the College Basketball Invitational has breathed life into a team that had so much potential, and still has something to prove.

Three straight wins in this event have bumped the win total to 20, and now the Braves have their sight set on this best-of-3 championship series. And an outright win tonight means Bradley need only win at home in order to take home the championship to salvage what was somewhat of a disappointing regular season. I’ll take the points with the boys from Peoria, and bank on a tight game tonight.
