UTA / NYK Under 212.5

As I mentioned a couple days ago, Utah is playing some lights-out defense at home. The UNDER is 9-0 in Utah's last 9 home games. The Jazz have allowed just 91.4 points per game during their current 14-game home winning streak and that includes games against some fast-paced teams such as Phoenix. The Knicks are trying to work Eddie Curry back into the lineup, which should disrupt the flow of things for a while, as Curry has basically missed the entire season. That notwithstanding, the Knicks have gone UNDER in 8 of their last 9 games. The UNDER is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Utah, and 12-5 in Utah's last 17 games as a home favorite of 11 or greater. The UNDER is also 14-3 in Utah's last 17 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.I'll ride Utah's defensive streak again tonight and take UNDER.

John Ryan

Memphis vs. Golden State
Play: Over 218½

Ai Simulator 3* graded play OVER Golden State/Memphis slated to start at 10:35 EST. Supporting this graded play is a strong system that has posted a 512-350 mark for 59% winners and profits of 127 units since 1996. Take my word for it that is very RARE for any system over 10-years or more length to make over 100 units in profits. This one has made 127 units and also produces a lot of action as well. Plus, it has won the money by exceeding the posted total by 7 or more points in 45% of the games played. That high a percentage is also rare indeed. I highly recommend following this system now and in the seasons to come. AiS shows a 74% probability that 220 or more points will be scored in this game. take the OVER and make certain to get down on Ryan’s 10* NBA Titan play where he has posted a 13-4-1 ATS mark this season.

D Wade always plays well against the Magic. Wade has scored at least 32 points or more in seven of his last nine games versus Orlando and I look for him to have another big game tonight. This game means a lot more to the Heat as they fight for a playoff birth. Miami is currently fifth in the Eastern Conference and 1½ games ahead of Philadelphia. The Heat still have a chance at home court in the first round, but must catch Atlanta as the Hawks currently stand 3½ games ahead with eight games remaining. The Heat should also have a huge crowd tonight as they retire Alonzo Mourning's jersey. The home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams and I look for the trend to continue tonight.
Take the points.

Rashard Lewis had 19 points and eight rebounds, while Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu each tossed in 18 points in that win.

Dwyane Wade went for 27 points and dished out seven assists as the Heat scorched the Bucks 102-85 on Saturday. The Heat covered the 9-point spread, but the 187 points fell UNDER the night's posted total of 197.5.

Udonis Haslem had 16 points with 12 rebounds for a double-double in the win.

New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz
Play: Utah Jazz -11

I am not sure how much the Knicks have left in their tanks with playoff hopes effectively dashed following recent 6-game losing streak that included MSG losses vs. lowly Sac and the Clippers. Meanwhile, Utah still in middle of log-jam for the last seven West playoff berths (7 teams separated by a mere 4 games thru March 26!) and happy to be in Salt Lake City, where Jerry Sloan’s team had won 14 in a row. Jazz too tough at home and should BURY the BRICKS tonight!

New York Knicks vs. Utah Jazz
Play: Under 213

Energy Solutions Arena will be the site of tonight’s clash between the host Utah Jazz and the visiting New York Knicks. Utah is fighting for a playoff berth and position in the very competitive Western Conference while the Knicks recent six game losing skid took care of any chance they may have had for a postseason appearance. The Jazz are coming in off an overtime win versus Phoenix and they have to travel to Portland for a game tomorrow night which will have huge playoff ramifications. The Jazz have played dominating defense at home recently allowing their opponents to score just 91.4 points per game during their current fourteen-game win streak at Energy Solutions Arena. The Jazz have posted ‘unders’ in their last nine home games and are 8-0 ‘under’ as a home favorite their last eight. Utah is coming in off that win over Phoenix and they are 8-2 ‘under’ coming off a SU win in their last game. If the Jazz are installed as a home favorite of eleven or more they have posted ‘unders’ in twelve of their last seventeen in that role. One final note on the Jazz they are 14-3 ‘under’ after scoring at least 100 points in their last game. The Knicks have gone ‘under’ in eight of their last nine games overall and 5-0 ‘under’ installed as an underdog. New York games have fallen below the posted total in eight of their last ten contests against winning teams and they have posted a record of 21-14 ‘under’ when playing away from home this season. This series has seen 13 of the last 23 go ‘under’ the posted total since 1996. With the Jazz playing solid defense at home and fighting for a playoff berth we will play the ‘under’ here tonight.

Graded Selection: 2* New York Knicks / Utah Jazz 213

Rocketman Sports

UTEP vs. Oregon State
Play: UTEP Pk

Why in the world is Oregon State even doing in postseason play? Even after all these wins in this CBI Tournament they still have a losing record at 16-17 this year. UTEP comes in with a decent 22-12 record this year. Usually a red flag would go up and I wouldn't take UTEP in this situation but I don't think Oregon State will be able to hang with the Miners tonight. UTEP is 10-3 ATS on the road this year. UTEP is 5-1 ATS in March this year. UTEP is 11-3 ATS after a non-conference game this year and 11-3 ATS in non-conference games this year. Oregon State is 12-54 SU as an underdog the past 3 years. Oregon State is 1-15 ATS since 1997 and 1-8 ATS last 3 years in a home game where the total is between 130 and 134 1/2. Oregon State only scores 59.7 points per game. We'll recommend a small play on UTEP tonight!

Miami + over Orlando

Miami has won nine of the past ten home games and the Heat are ready to deliver a big game win back at home after a long stretch of tough road games. Miami lost five of the past six road games but continues to take care of business at home, winning easily against Milwaukee on Saturday. Orlando won easily the last time these teams met but the home team has won three consecutive games in this series. Miami is 26-11 S/U at home this season and although the Magic own strong road numbers they are just 2-3 ATS in the past five road games. Miami has more to play for right now and the contrarian's play on the Heat looks promising tonight. The public loves to take slight road favorites but it is a dangerous situation going against Wade and the Heat as they have been very tough to beat at home.

Larry Ness

Milwaukee Bucks at New Jersey Nets
Prediction: Over

The Bucks are 2-10 SU and 1-11 ATS since the beginning of March. Incredibly, one of those wins came over the Celtics on Mar 15 (85-77) but other than that game, Milwaukee has allowed 106.5 PPG to its other 11 opponents in the month of March. In their current three-game road trip the Bucks have given up 100-plus points in each game (109.0 PPG), allowing their opponents to shoot over 49 percent from the floor. New Jersey is a woeful 6-16 since Feb 8 and it doesn't get too much worse that its 108-99 defeat at the hands of the T-wolves in Minnesota on Sunday. The T-wolves are missing top scorers Al Jefferson and Randy Foye, yet the Nets allowed Minnesota to shoot 51.4 percent from the floor. This 'nothing' game between two teams "headed for nowhere," should easily go 'over' the total.

Ted Sevransky

Milwaukee Bucks @ New Jersey Nets
PICK: New Jersey Nets

The Nets have had their chances to win games down the stretch here in March, but they’ve blown seven fourth quarter leads this month. In their game at Minnesota yesterday, a wire-to-wire loss, a blown fourth quarter lead wasn’t the problem at all. Head coach Lawrence Frank: “That was just an extremely disappointing defensive performance. It was very tangible to see: Minnesota -- their talk, their effort, their energy level, was significantly higher than ours…. From an enthusiasm, effort, energy standpoint -- the willingness to dig and fight -- we didn't show it in the way we've shown it in some of the past games.

New Jersey reserve guard Keyon Dooling: “We weren't aggressive, we didn't play hard, we didn't play together. It was just a bad performance. From a mental standpoint, we weren't prepared and that team dominated us from start to finish. They dominated the game, controlled the game and we were never in the game, and it was a good old-fashioned butt-whipping.” Vince Carter: “This is unacceptable. We feel like we're capable of being in the playoffs. This was an opportunity to jump-start us into accomplishing that. We took a step back.”

I’m always looking to support NBA teams off particularly poor performances, and we’ve got the Nets in that role tonight; the type of game where we can expect maximum energy and effort from the short home favorite. Meanwhile, the Bucks are in a free-fall of their own, losers of five straight and ten of their last twelve. Their last road win came in the first game following the All Star break, nearly six weeks ago. On the last game of a long, disappointing road trip, don’t expect the Bucks to be able to match the Nets energy tonight. 2* Take New Jersey.

JACK JONES

Jazz/Knicks UNDER 213

I'm going to play this game to go under the posted total tonight. I feel like the Knicks play a much faster pace on their home floor than they do on the road as evidenced by the 85 points they scored in Charlotte on Saturday and the 93 they scored in Cleveland two games prior to that. Utah on the other hand has been playing solid defense in Salt Lake giving up just 99 to the Suns, 86 to the Rockets, and 88 to the Wizards in their last three games. In fact, Utah hasn't given up more than 100 points at home since the Lakers back in the beginning of February. I'll go with the UNDER in this one.

Jeff Alexander

1 Unit on Knicks/Jazz UNDER 212.5

Utah's defense has been strong at home, allowing only 94.7 ppg, and New York's offense has been much weaker on the road. Utah is 14-6 UNDER in a home game where the total is greater than or equal to 200 this season. While NY has been a strong overs option most of the season, teams have found ways to slow down the Knicks and the result has been New York playing to the under in 8 of its last 9 games. Utah has been an absolute unders machine, playing to the under in 14 of its last 18 games. With a big matchup against Portland tomorrow night, I don't expect to see the Jazz expending too much energy running up the score either. Bet the Under.

1 Unit on Memphis/Golden State OVER 221

Memphis just scored 66 points in its last game against Portland so you can expect the Grizzlies to come out looking to light it up against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. The Warriors have now played to the over in 9 of their last 11 games and the odds makers have given them another very manageable number tonight. The Over is 7-0 in the Warriors last 7 games following a SU loss and 37-16-1 in the Warriors last 54 home games. The Over is 13-6 in the Grizzlies last 19 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Bet the Over.

Jeff Benton

After a lengthy drought with the free plays, I’ve now nailed three in a row after Sunday’s Oklahoma-North Carolina contest stayed well UNDER the posted total. Let’s make it four straight on Friday as we back UTEP as a slight road chalk at Oregon State in postseason tournament action.

Simply put, at some point, Oregon State’s luck has to run out. The Beavers really had no business even getting an invite into this secondary tournament after closing the season with four straight Pac-10 losses to end with a 13-17 overall record. But not only did they get into the tournament, they got to play all three games at home and barely won each, topping Houston (49-45), Vermont (71-70 in overtime) and Stanford (65-62, also in overtime).

I don’t know if Oregon State Craig Robinson – who happens to be the brother-in-law of the president of the United States – has gotten some kind of residual karma from his famous relative, but winning three games by a total of eight points (two in overtime) tells me the Beavers are on borrowed time.

Meanwhile, Houston’s three victories in this tournament have all been impressive – two tough road wins at Nevada (79-77) and Richmond (81-69) sandwiched around a blowout home win over Northeastern (81-69). The Miners are a rock-solid 21-12 SU and 19-11-1 ATS on the season. They’re also 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six outings (only loss being an 89-85 overtime setback to Houston as a two-point ‘dog in the opening round of the Conference USA tournament), and UTEP has won and covered three straight road games and five of the last seven on the road. In fact, the Miners have cashed in nine of their last 11 as a visitor.

Bottom line: The oddsmakers are trying to tell us something with this pointspread, and we’ll listen. Back the road team.

3♦ UTEP
