Each week, we look back on the NBA betting scene and give you the best –and worst – basketball bets, as well as some spots to keep an eye on with the upcoming schedule.

For the week of Nov. 18-24

Hottest ATS team

Sacramento Kings – This week: 3-1 ATS, Season: 4-8-1 ATS

The Kings are riding a 3-0 ATS run that includes impressive covers against the Lakers and Utah (twice). Sacramento began the season ice-cold ATS, covering just once in its first ten games. But the offense has come alive, posting a number above the century mark during the impressive run. The Kings host Minnesota and Indiana next week before a Saturday date in Los Angeles with the Clippers.

Coldest ATS team

Minnesota Timberwolves – This week: 0-3 ATS, Season: 6-6 ATS

The Timberwolves have dropped five straight games, failing to cover in the process. Minnesota covered in six of its first seven contests to begin the campaign without star forward Kevin Love in the lineup, who was out due to injury. The T-Wolves finish up a west-coast swing next week in Sacramento and Los Angeles before heading back home for a date with the Bucks.

Hottest over bet

Oklahoma City Thunder – This week: 4-0 over, Season: 8-6 O/U

After playing under the total in four its first five games, Oklahoma City has played over the number in five straight thanks to its exploding offense. The Thunder have averaged a whopping 112.4 points per game during the over streak. Oklahoma City looks to keep pouring in the buckets during a three-game homestand to start next week when it welcomes the Bobcats, Rockets and Jazz.

Hottest under bet

Detroit Pistons – This week: 3-0 under, Season: 5-8 O/U

The Pistons are showing signs of life, posting victories in two of their last three games. They’ve been doing it with a defense that has allowed only 82.3 points per game over those three games. Combine that with an offense that ranks 25th in the league at 92.2 points per game, and you have a recipe for a decent under play. Detroit visits the Knicks on Sunday before returning home to host two Western Conference opponents - the Blazers and Suns.

Scouting the schedule

After a home date with the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, the Toronto Raptors hit the road for seven of their next eight contests. The Raptors are 4-4 ATS and 5-3 O/U on the road this season.

The Chicago Bulls return home on Monday for a four-game homestand after posting a 2-3 record on a five-game road swing. The Bulls welcome the Bucks, Mavs, Sixers and Pacers. Chicago has posted wins in its last meetings with all four teams, while playing under the total in those games in the process.
