Friday's Best NBA Bets
By Covers.com

Detroit Pistons at Chicago Bulls (N/A)

The Chicago Bulls have dominated the Detroit Pistons in recent seasons and can stretch their winning streak in the series to 14 consecutive games with a victory on Friday. Chicago has beaten the Pistons twice this season and held Detroit to 68 points in one of the victories.

Detroit had scored fewer than 80 points in three consecutive games prior to the 87-75 victory over Cleveland. The Pistons received a big game from forward Tayshaun Prince, who matched a season-high with 29 points. Detroit could again be thin in the backcourt against Chicago after Rodney Stuckey suffered a hamstring injury against the Cavaliers to go with Ben Gordon’s possible absence due to a groin injury.

The Bulls just own the Pistons, going 7-2-1 against the spread in the last 10 meetings and we're leaning that way again.

Pick: Bulls

Boston Celtics at Minnesota Timberwolves (N/A)

The Boston Celtics are 13-5 since the All-Star break and have pulled into a tie for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 4-8 over their last 12 games and are struggling to stay on the fringes of the race in the West. Kevin Love has put the Timberwolves on his back lately, averaging 33.7 points and 15.5 rebounds over the past six games, as they continues to lose players to injury.

In direct contrast to the balance that Boston enjoys is Minnesota, which is leaning heavily on Love. The All-Star forward went for 40 points and 19 rebounds in a win at Charlotte on Wednesday, outscoring the other four members of the starting five combined.

The Timberwolves are without Ricky Rubio (knee), Nikola Pekovic (ankle), J.J. Barea (thigh) and Michael Beasley (toe). Pekovic, Barea and Beasley could return as early as Friday, easing some of the burden on Love.

Boston's experience should show through against the shorthanded Timberwolves.

Pick: Celtics

Friday's NBA Tips
By Kevin Rogers
VegasInsider.com

Twelve games take place on the Friday NBA card, including three teams (Heat, Wizards, and Blazers) playing with no rest. Among the highlights on the Friday slate, the surging Celtics head to Minnesota for a battle with the Wolves, while the Jazz returns home to entertain the Kings. We'll start north of the border as Miami travels to Toronto against the upset-minded Raptors.

Heat (-7½, 191½) at Raptors

Miami hits the highway for a two-game swing that concludes with a crucial showdown at Boston on Sunday. The Heat will try not to overlook Friday's contest at Toronto, as the Raptors go for consecutive wins for the first time since January 25. The Raps knocked off the Nuggets as short home underdogs on Wednesday, 105-96, as Denver missed its final 15 shots from the field. Toronto owns an 8-3-1 ATS the last 11 games as a home underdog, while looking to avenge a 95-89 loss at Miami on February 5 as 16-point road 'dogs. The Heat is riding a 2-5 ATS run the previous seven games in the road favorite role, including straight-up losses to the Jazz, Lakers, Pacers, Bulls, and Magic.

76ers at Wizards

Philadelphia has won just three of its last eight games, coming off Wednesday's blowout of Cleveland. The Sixers welcome in the Wizards, who are playing for the fifth time in seven days following last night's contest at Indiana. Washington has been terrible with no rest, owning a 1-12 SU and 5-8 ATS record, including seven losses by double-digits. Philadelphia is a perfect 3-0 SU/ATS against Washington this season, while each victory came in blowout fashion by an average of 21.3 points per game.

Nuggets (-8½, 204) at Bobcats

Charlotte continues to stumble at 7-41, while the Bobcats look to bust the 100-point mark for just the second time in the last 13 games. The Bobcats host the Nuggets, who have dropped four of the previous six contests since beating the Celtics on St. Patrick's Day. Denver is listed as a road favorite for just the third time since the end of January, as the Nuggets lost each of the last two opportunities in this situation at Memphis and Toronto. George Karl's club has seen the 'over' cash in five of the last six games, as the Nuggets fell short of the 'over' by two points in Wednesday's loss at Toronto.

Bucks (-5, 204) at Cavaliers

Milwaukee goes for its third win in three tries against Cleveland, while the Cavs attempt to snap a five-game losing skid. The Bucks are just 2-3 SU/ATS since a six-game winning streak, as six of their last seven victories came against teams currently outside of the playoffs. The Cavs haven't cashed as a home underdog in the last five opportunities, including an ugly 87-75 defeat to the Pistons as one-point 'dogs on Wednesday. In the previous meeting between these division rivals, the Bucks shot 53% from the floor in a 115-100 victory at the Bradley Center on March 14, while sailing 'over' the total of 205½.

Knicks at Hawks (-3½, 187)

New York is one of the toughest teams to figure out this season with all the ups and downs it has gone through. The Knicks are currently in the midst of an 8-1 SU/ATS stretch following the resignation of head coach Mike D'Antoni, as New York travels to Atlanta. The Hawks are coming off consecutive losses to the Bucks and Bulls, while Larry Drew's club looks to avenge a 99-82 defeat at Madison Square Garden on February 22. The Knicks are without Amare Stoudemire for at least two more weeks, while Jeremy Lin hopes to suit up after missing the last two games with a knee injury. Atlanta has compiled an 8-3 ATS record as a favorite of 3½ or less, but two of those losses have come at Philips Arena.

Celtics at Wolves

Boston has quietly won five of its last six games, including a solid 94-82 home victory over surging Utah on Wednesday. The C's hit the road on Friday to take on Minnesota, as the Wolves go for back-to-back wins for the first time since March 7. Injuries are taking a toll on this Minnesota club with the losses of Ricky Rubio (knee), Nikola Pekovic (ankle), and J.J. Barea (thigh) recently. The Wolves own a 4-8 SU and 5-7 ATS record the previous 12 games, even though nine of the last 10 contests have come away from the Target Center. The Celtics are just 1-6 ATS the previous seven games as a road favorite, while the Wolves have cashed in six of the last eight meetings against Boston.

Pistons at Bulls

Detroit's offense has failed to score more than 87 points in each of the last four games, as the Pistons head to the Windy City for a battle with the Bulls. Chicago continues to play without MVP Derrick Rose, who has missed each of the past eight games with a groin injury (6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS). The Pistons are 5-2 ATS the last seven road contests, including covers against the Nuggets and Clippers as heavy underdogs. Chicago has put together a 1-4 ATS mark the previous five games as a home favorite, while losing outright to the Nuggets on Monday at the United Center as eight-point 'chalk.'

Mavericks at Magic (-5, 186½)

Dallas wraps up its trip through Sunshine State with a visit to Orlando. The Magic will try to put Wednesday's embarrassing performance at New York behind them, while going for their seventh home win in eight tries. The Mavs head to central Florida after Thursday's blowout loss at Miami, as Rick Carlisle's team has won 11 of 17 games with no rest this season. Orlando does a solid job of bouncing back from an "L," compiling a 14-4 SU and 13-5 ATS record off a defeat, including an 8-2 ATS mark after losing by more than 10 points.

Grizzlies at Rockets (-1, 191½)

These two division rivals meet for the final time this season as the home team has won and covered each of the first three matchups. The Grizzlies embark on a three-game road trip after holding off the Wolves on Wednesday, 93-86 as four-point favorites. The Rockets are 6-5 SU/ATS since a five-game losing streak after the All-Star break, while playing without Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin over this stretch. Memphis is suffering through a 2-6 ATS slump, while failing to cash in six of its past nine games away from FedEx Forum.

Kings at Jazz (-7, 212½)

Utah returns home in a difficult travel situation, coming back to Salt Lake City after a three-game road swing to host Sacramento. Following Friday's contest, the Jazz heads to Los Angeles on Saturday for a meeting with the Clippers. Tyrone Corbin's team can't overlook Sacramento, who has covered two of three matchups with the Jazz this season. Utah held off Sacramento, 103-102 as two-point road underdogs last Thursday, thanks to a tip-in at the buzzer by Al Jefferson. That loss started a four-game skid for the Kings, who have also failed to cash against the number during this cold streak. Sacramento has hit the 'over' in seven of its last eight contests, as the lone 'under' came in the recent home defeat to Utah.

Nets at Warriors (-4, 197)

In probably the least attractive game on the card, New Jersey begins a four-game swing on the West Coast at Golden State. The Nets have been dreadful off a win this season, coming off Wednesday's upset of the Pacers as home 'dogs. New Jersey has put together a 2-14 SU and 4-12 ATS record off a victory, while Golden State looks to snap a two-game skid following home losses to the Lakers and Hornets. In the earlier meeting this season, the Nets held off the Warriors, 107-100 as three-point home favorites on January 18.

Blazers at Clippers (-8½, 188)

Los Angeles goes for its third victory over Portland this season, while the Clippers go for their fourth straight win. The Blazers are 2-8 SU and 3-7 ATS the last 10 games away from the Rose Garden, but Portland did cover in its last trip to Staples Center in a seven-point loss to the Lakers. The Clippers cruised past the Grizzlies, Hornets, and Suns in the first three games of their five-game homestand, winning each contest by double-digits. Vinny Del Negro's club pulled off a massive fourth quarter rally in the last meeting with the Blazers, overcoming an 18-point deficit in a 74-71 triumph on February 16 as two-point 'chalk.'
