Cleveland Cavaliers at Toronto Raptors
The eyes of most basketball fans as well as those with a penchant for sports gaming will be on the Monday night battle for top spot in the Eastern Conference as the Toronto Raptors host the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors off a franchise-best 44 point victory over reeling Atlanta Hawks Saturday night moved to 14-6 on the campaign with a cash-stuffing 14-5-1 record against the betting line. Raptors lead by DeRozan (28.3), Lowry (20.6) are one of the better offensive teams in the league this season based on efficiency metrics (113.8 ) and have spiked the metrics up to 123.7 during the current six game win streak. On the other side of the court, Raptors have a defensive efficiency rating of 103.6 on the year but the efficiency rating has come into its own during the win streak dropping to 97.5 points/game.
Cavaliers in a funk have dropped the last three including a 111-105 loss at Chicago Friday moving the record to 13-5 overall. Irving (24.4) leading team in scoring with James chipping in 23.3 the Cavaliers' offensive efficiency stands at 109.7 with a mediocre defensive efficiency rating of 105.1. Frustrated Caves have seen its offensive metrics drop to 96.6 the past three with the defensive metrics jumping to a whopping 113.9.
So far this season Cleveland and Toronto have met twice with Cavaliers handing Raptors a pair of defeats winning 94-91 as 2.5 point road faves at this venue in October, 121-117 as 6 point home chalk on Quicken Loans Arena hardwood in November.
