Golden State at San Antonio
Although College Basketball has taken center stage this weekend, the NBA handicapping world will be abuzz with excitement Saturday evening when the Spurs host Warriors at the AT&T Center in San Antonio. The Spurs are favored by 3.5 points on the NBA odds board and the total set at 216.5.
San Antonio has a couple of advantages in this matchup. The Spurs are tough nuts to crack on home court. Spurs are undefeated this season at 34-0 outscoring visitors by 18.1 points/game with a 21-13 record against the betting line. Looking furthur back the Spurs have won an amazing 43 consecutive regular season games in front of the friendly crowd at AT&T Center posting a 29-14 record at the betting window.
Additionally, San Antonio hammered 120-90 by Warriors in Oakland earlier bodes well for Spurs' chances. Coach Pop's team has shown they don't take losses lightly. This season Spurs have posted a 6-0 (4-2 ATS) mark revenging a loss. History also shows Spurs are good choices revenging a double digit loss. In the last fourteen such situations the result has been an 11-3 record against the betting line.

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (62-6) at SAN ANTONIO SPURS (58-10)
Sportsbook.ag Line: San Antonio -3, 216
The Spurs will be looking to improve to 35-0 at home when they host a Warriors team that has won seven straight games heading into Saturday.
Golden State has been playing extremely well lately, winning seven straight games and 14 of its past 15 as well. The team does, however, face a San Antonio group that is equally as hot heading into this contest.
The Spurs defeated the Blazers 118-110 on Thursday and have now won five straight games and 13 of their past 14. San Antonio also happens to be a perfect 34-0 when playing at home this season. The last time these teams met was on Jan. 25 and the Warriors ended up winning that game 120-90 as 4.5-point home favorites.
Even with that victory for Golden State, San Antonio is 6-2 SU and 5-3 ATS when facing the Warriors over the past three seasons. One trend working in the Warriors’ favor is the fact that they are 33-15 ATS after two straight wins by 10 points or more over the past two seasons. The Spurs are, however, 9-1 ATS revenging a road loss of 10 points or more versus an opponent in that span.
C Andrew Bogut (Toe) is listed as questionable for the Warriors in this game and SF Andre Iguodala (Ankle) is not expected to play either.
The Spurs, meanwhile, do not have anybody listed on the injury report, but that can change at any point before the tip.
The Warriors are hoping that by Sunday they’ll be the only team to still be undefeated at home and if that is going to be the case then PG Stephen Curry (30.5 PPG, 6.5 APG, 5.4 RPG, 2.0 SPG) will need to have a big game for Golden State. Curry is coming off of a very good outing in Dallas on Friday, finishing with 31 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes of action.
Curry is a lot quicker than Tony Parker at this point in his career and he’ll need to use that to his advantage in this game. Curry will do his best to get to the basket and if he can be effective doing that then it’ll give him more space to fire away from deep.
SG Klay Thompson (22.2 PPG) will also be a big factor in this game. He was scorching hot against the Mavericks on Friday, finishing the game with 39 points on 14-for-22 shooting from the floor and 10-for-15 shooting from deep. If he can get it going again on Saturday then it’s very unlikely that the Spurs will be able to defeat them.
PF Draymond Green (13.6 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 7.4 APG, 1.4 SPG, 1.3 BPG) will, however, need to dig in defensively and do all the little things for the Warriors in this one. He has a tough matchup with LaMarcus Aldridge, but if he can hold his own then the Warriors should be able to win this game.
The Spurs are probably sick of hearing about the Warriors and they’ll now get their shot to defeat them and remain undefeated at home in the process. One guy that needs to be on his game in this one is PG Tony Parker (12.2 PPG, 5.4 APG).
Parker had really been struggling for San Antonio, but he turned things around with a masterful game against Portland on Thursday. Parker played 27 minutes in that game and finished with 18 points, 16 assists and two steals. The Spurs need him to be on the attack in this game and they could easily win this game if he finds a way to hold his own against Curry.
SF Kawhi Leonard (21.0 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 1.8 SPG) will also need to be at his best against the Warriors in this one. He had 16 points the last time these teams met, but he’ll likely need to score 20 or more in this game. He is the Spurs’ best offensive player and they’ll be relying on him to make big shots. Leonard will also, however, need to lock in defensively. He’ll spend plenty of time guarding both Curry and Thompson in this game, so he’ll need to make things difficult on both guys Saturday.
PF LaMarcus Aldridge (17.7 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.1 BPG) will also need to be ready to play well in this one. Aldridge has been in a groove offensively lately, averaging 23.6 PPG and 7.6 RPG over the past five contests. He has the ability to really control the paint in this game, but he’ll need to give a complete effort on Saturday.
