Tuesday's Best NBA Bets
By Covers.com

New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers (-5.5, 190)

So far, no Jeremy Lin has been no problem for the New York Knicks. Lin, who is done for the regular season due to a torn meniscus, has missed the last four games. The Knicks have won three times in that stretch as Carmelo Anthony has stepped up for both Lin and Amare Stoudemire.

The Pacers are sitting in the fifth spot in the East but have struggled against New York. Indiana suffered losses to the Knicks on March 16 and 17 by an average of 14.5 points, with Danny Granger shooting 9 of 30 in those contests.

Under interim coach Mike Woodson, New York is putting extra emphasis on defense. The Knicks have allowed an average of 80.3 points in their last three victories.

Carmelo Anthony is averaging 24.9 points in 21 career games against the Pacers. And the Knicks are 5-1 ATS in their last six visits to Indianapolis.

Pick: Knicks

Charlotte Bobcats at Toronto Raptors (-9.5, 187.5)

Charlotte looks to beat the Raptors for the third time this season and the seventh consecutive time overall when the teams play in Toronto on Tuesday. However, the Bobcats have lost seven consecutive games since recording a 107-103 home win over the Raptors on March 17.

Bobcats coach Paul Silas says he will play give more playing time to young players over the final 16 games of the season. “We still want to win games, but the fact is we have to find out what these kids are about,” Silas said. “If we were going for a playoff berth or something like that then absolutely we would want our veteran players in there. But we’re not, so we want these guys to play and see how they react.”

Toronto, which defeated the Washington Wizards on Sunday, hasn’t won back-to-back games since Jan. 24-25. But it's not Jose Calderon's fault. He's averaging 8.8 assists and for the season has posted 421 assists against just 98 turnovers. A hot finish could allow Calderon to average over nine assists for the first time in his seven-year career.

Charlotte is 2-5 ATS in its last seven games, and 8-21 ATS in its last 29 games as an underdog of 5.0-10.5 points.

Pick: Raptors

Tuesday's NBA Tips
By Kevin Rogers
VegasInsider.com

With college basketball in the rear-view mirror, the NBA takes center-stage as the regular season winds down. Eight games are showcased on the Tuesday NBA card, including the Pacers playing with double-revenge against the Knicks, while the Nets look to stay hot in Southern California battling the Lakers. We'll start in Cleveland with the struggling Cavaliers hosting a red-hot San Antonio squad.

Spurs at Cavaliers

San Antonio has won seven straight games, while cashing six times in this stretch. The Spurs embark on a quick two-game road trip that begins at Quicken Loans Arena, as the Cavs look to snap a seven-game losing streak. Top pick Kyrie Irving missed Saturday's loss at New York with a sprained shoulder, as the Cavs' guard is a game-time decision on Tuesday. The Spurs are coming off three consecutive 'overs,' while San Antonio and its opponents each eclipsed the 100-point mark. Gregg Popovich's owns a 13-2 SU and 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 contests away from the AT&T Center, as San Antonio is 8-1 ATS as a favorite of eight points or more.

Knicks at Pacers

New York has taken care of Indiana twice by double-figures, as the Knicks are 9-2 SU/ATS the previous 11 contests. The Pacers split a pair of games in Texas over the weekend, capped off by an overtime victory at Houston on Sunday. Indiana returns home for four of its next five games, as Frank Vogel's squad has won three of their previous four contests at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Knicks are coming off seven consecutive victories at Madison Square Garden, but New York has failed to win each of its last two road games at Atlanta and Toronto. The last time these teams met in Indianapolis, the Knicks dominated the Pacers, 102-88 as four-point underdogs on March 17.

Bobcats at Raptors

This isn't exactly the spotlight matchup on the card, but two of Charlotte's seven victories this season have come against Toronto. The Bobcats go for a third triumph in this series, while the Raptors try to win consecutive games for the first time since January 25. Toronto is fresh off a Sunday victory over Washington, as the Raps are 0-12 SU the last 12 games coming off a win. The Bobcats have lost seven straight games since rallying past the Raptors on March 17 as short home 'dogs, 107-103. Charlotte is one of the lowest scoring teams in the league at 87.9 points per game, but the Bobcats are riding a 7-3 'over' run the previous 10 contests.

Magic at Pistons

Dwight Howard missed his first game of the season on Sunday with a back injury, as Orlando lost at home to Denver, 104-101, as 3½-point favorites. Howard is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday when the Magic travels to the Palace of Auburn Hills to battle the Pistons. Detroit rallied past Charlotte in overtime on Saturday, 110-107, but the Pistons failed to cash as 7½-point 'chalk.' Ben Gordon and Rodney Stuckey have both been out each of the last three games for Detroit, but Gordon is expected to return to the lineup after suffering a groin injury. The Pistons beat the Magic in their last meeting at the Palace, 89-78 as six-point 'dogs on January 2, while Detroit shot 50% from the floor.

76ers at Heat

Miami has lost three of its last four road games by 15 points or more, but the Heat returns home where they have won 15 consecutive contests. Erik Spoelstra's squad starts a crucial five-game homestand against the 76ers, as Miami goes for the four-game season sweep of Philadelphia. The Sixers have alternated wins and losses in each of the last eight games, coming off Saturday's home victory over the Hawks. Doug Collins' team owns a 1-7 ATS record the last eight opportunities as an underdog, while allowing less than 100 points in 21 of the previous 22 games. The Heat is riding a 9-2 'under' run the last 11 contests at American Airlines Arena, even though Miami sailed 'over' the total in its previous home game against Dallas.

Warriors at Grizzlies

Golden State continues a four-game road swing in Memphis, as the Warriors attempt to halt a five-game losing skid. The Grizzlies finish off a back-to-back set following Monday's game at Oklahoma City, while Memphis looks for the season sweep. The Warriors are still playing without Stephen Curry, but Golden State has put together a 7-1 ATS record the last eight games away from Oracle Arena. Memphis has hit the 'under' in five of the previous six contests, but the Grizzlies have covered just one of their last four at FedEx Forum.

Suns at Kings

Phoenix attempts to forge above .500 with a victory at Sacramento, as the Suns go for their third win this season over the Kings. Keith Smart's team has won each of its previous four games as a home underdog, while cashing the 'over' in nine of the last 11 contests at Power Balance Pavilion. The Suns have split their past six road games, but are 4-2 ATS in this stretch, including a blowout as a favorite at Cleveland, 108-83. Phoenix finished the month of March at 12-5 ATS, while starting April with a rout of New Orleans as double-digit home favorites.

Nets at Lakers

The Purple and Gold has struggled as home 'chalk' recently by posting a dreadful 0-9 ATS mark the last nine games at Staples Center. The Lakers are fresh off consecutive victories over the Hornets and Warriors, while Los Angeles will try to break through in the ATS department against New Jersey. The Nets are quietly riding a three-game winning streak, including outright underdog triumphs at Golden State and Sacramento. New Jersey has pulled off upset victories at Chicago and Dallas this season as double-digit 'dogs, while going 5-3 ATS the last eight games when receiving points.

NBA: Streaks, Tips, Notes

Charlotte Bobcats at Toronto Raptors

The Charlotte Bobcats are by far the worst team in the league at 7-43 (19-31 ATS) including a pitiful 3-23 (10-16 ATS) on the road. It's not often that the Bobcats have a winning streak against any team but their success against Raptors is noteworthy. Bobcats have won/covered both meeting vs Toronto this season and have won/covered six straight the past three seasons running the hardwood with Raptors. Bobcats are worth a second look as an NBA Sport Pick. Toronto off a rare victory defeating Wizards as 6.5 point favorites are in a tough spot. The Raptors are not only on an 0-10 (5-5 ATS) skid attempting back-2-back wins, Raptors have had trouble covering twice in-a-row as favorites as they're 2-10 SU/ATS last twelve situations.
