NBA Celtics vs. Pistons Picks & Predictions for Sunday, January 20, 2013
By ATSSportsline.com

AUBURN HILLS, MI (ATS Consultants) – Will the Celtics halt their current two-game losing streak when they visit the Pistons tonight at 7:30PM ET?

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Pistons as 2-point home underdogs versus the Celtics, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 185. Boston enters tonight's game with an overall record of 20-19 while Detroit is 14-25.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Celtics opened as a 3-point favorite but the line has been bet down to 2 at most sports books. As for the total, it opened at 188 but has been bet down three full points to 185.

PUBLIC BETTING: Of the current wagers placed on tonight’s game, 83% of NBA public bettors currently favor the Celtics. This information is subject to change, however, so make sure you click on the link provided to get the most updated public betting numbers.

NBA FREE PICK: Take Boston. According to latest NBA trends, the Celtics are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference, 28-11 ATS in their last 39 Sunday games. Detroit is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Sunday games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games.

The streaky Celtics have an edge against a Detroit team playing for the first time since its trip to London. After losing four straight Dec. 27-Jan. 2, Boston won six in a row. Then lost two at home, but Boston has also won three in a row on the road while the Pistons have also been very inconsistent recently, dropping three of four since a 6-1 stretch that followed a six-game losing streak. They'll be looking to avoid their third straight home defeat while trying to shake off a 102-87 rout by New York in London. Detroit is struggling from the field, having made 32.3 percent from 3-point range and 61.1 percent from the free-throw line in the past five games. Boston has limited opponents to 26.1 percent from beyond the arc in its latest five contests. Rajon Rondo will look to carry over the momentum from a season-high 30-point performance against the Bulls. Expect the Celtics to bounce back against a road weary Detroit team still getting over the London trip.
