NBA Knicks vs. Pacers Picks & Predictions for Thursday, January 10, 2013
By ATSSportsline.com

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (ATS Consultants) – The Knicks will try to avoid their fourth loss in their last six games when they visit the Pacers tonight without suspended star Carmelo Anthony.

Last game: (11/18/12). NY KNICKS (-7) over Indiana, 88-76. The New York Knicks (23-11 SU, 17-16-1 ATS, 18-14-2 O/U) are coming off a tough loss at home to Boston, 102-96 on Jan. 7. What made it tougher for the Knicks is that Carmelo Anthony went over Kevin Garnett after the game and wound up getting suspended for this contest. Indiana (21-14 SU, 19-16 ATS, 13-21-1 O/U) is coming off two straight wins including an impressive effort against Miami on Wednesday, 87-77 at home getting 2.

ODDS: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv have installed the Indiana Pacers as a 4.5-point favorite. The total is 185 in most books.

LINE MOVEMENT: The Indian Pacers opened as a 4.5-point favorite and remained there at most books. The total started at 184 and moved to 185 in most books.

NBA FREE PICK: Take Indiana. According to latest NBA trends, the Knicks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Eastern Conference, 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games. Pacers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games. The Knicks will be without suspended star Carmelo Anthony when they try to avoid a second straight loss and their fourth defeat in six games. Anthony leads the team and ranks second in the league with 29 points per game. The Pacers would have won two straight and 11 of 14, including an 87-77 home win over Miami on Tuesday. The Knicks are depleted right now with point guard Raymond Felton (broken finger) and forward Rasheed Wallace (foot) out. With Anthony out, David West (16.7 points, 8rpg) can now concentrate on his offense and Paul George (16.7 points, 7.4 rebounds) can try and match J.R. Smith on the perimeter. Point guard George Hill (14.7 points, five assists) recently returned from a groin injury that kept him out three games and is key for the Pacers. Expect Indiana to keep this low-scoring and with Anthony and Felton out, the Knicks will struggle against the Pacers' interior defense.
