Memphis vs. San Antonio

New Grizzlies

The Grizzlies were an afterthought to begin the season. They started 1-8 and didn’t show much promise. But with their win at Detroit on Wednesday, they snapped a three-game road losing streak and have now surpassed their road win total from a year ago (8). They are arguably the hottest team in the NBA right now, winning 15 of their last 19 games (14-4-1 against the spread).

They have a young, talented mix of players in their starting line-up. All five players average double-digits with “veteran” 29 year-old Zach Randolph leading the way with 21 points per game. They have a chance to make a big statement on the road on Friday. They are just a game behind the Spurs for playoff positioning and although the postseason is months away, this would be a huge win for the youthful Grizzlies.

Sputtering Spurs

San Antonio ended their mini-losing streak on Wednesday night against the Hawks. They had lost five of their previous six including three straight home games. The Spurs offense has sputtered lately and they can’t afford to get into a shootout against the high-octane Grizzlies. They have made less than 43.5 percent of their field goals in each of the past seven games and average 94.8 PPG in those seven games.

More bad news for the Spurs: Point guard Tony Parker left in the third quarter with an ankle injury. Parker is listed as day-to-day but don’t expect him to play on Friday. “Tony said it wasn't so bad, but he will probably miss a couple of games,” said Manu Ginobili, one of three Spurs who will be asked to fill in at the point until the All-NBA guard returns. X-rays taken at the arena were negative, but a timetable for Parker's return won't be established until he is re-examined by the team's medical staff.

Previous Meeting

These two met in Memphis just 13 days ago. Memphis was a slight favorite at home (-1.5) and they played well enough to get a slim six-point victory. The defenses dominated as San Antonio shot just 41.4% and Memphis finished slightly better at 43.4%.

The Grizzlies’ main edge was that they made 10 more free throws and had a plus-7 rebounding edge. Memphis has had recent troubles visiting the Spurs, where they are 0-5 SU and 1-3-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings at San Antonio.

Trends

We mentioned above how the Grizzlies are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now, well their ATS record confirms that. Memphis is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. On the contrary, San Antonio has struggled lately and their ATS record confirms that as well. They are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and also 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

In head-to-head meetings; the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the home team is 7-3-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings.

Friday's Best NBA Bets

Los Angeles Lakers at Philadelphia 76ers (+6.5, 202.5)

The progression of Lakers center Andrew Bynum has been on public display since Los Angeles selected the 7-foot man-child out of high school in the 2005 NBA Draft.

Bynum has been growing leaps and bounds in the past two seasons and showed just how far he has come during the Lakers’ current eight-game road trip. Against the Indiana Pacers Wednesday, Bynum scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, helping L.A. to a 118-96 win as a 5.5-point road favorite.

Bynum, who is averaging almost 16 points and more than eight rebounds, was holding out hope that he would be among the players selected as reserves for the Western Conference All-Star Team. However, coaches have submitted their ballots and Bynum didn’t make the cut.

"Hopefully I did, but [Thursday] we all find out," Bynum told the Los Angeles Times before the reserves were announced. "I think if I didn't make it, I think it would be political more so than anything and that's just something I'll have to deal with."

Hopefully the All-Star snub doesn’t discourage the 22-year-old. He was able to beat up on a shorter Pacers frontcourt but now takes on the Sixers, who have beefy forwards in Elton Brand, Samuel Dalembert and Marreese Speights.

Bynum missed the Lakers’ most recent meeting with Philadelphia but scored 18 points against the Sixers in a 114-102 win back in December 2008.

Pick: Los Angeles

Los Angeles Clippers at Minnesota Timberwolves (N/A)

Speaking of All-Star snubs, perhaps the biggest slap in the face Thursday was delivered to Clippers center Chris Kaman.

Los Angeles’ pasty big man, who is scoring 20 points and grabbing nine rebounds per game, was left of the Western Conference All-Stars reserve list and he’s not happy about it. Not one bit.

"I don’t think Gasol should be in it at all," Kaman told reporters last week. "He’s only played, like, 20 games. I think you should have to play, like, 80 percent of the games.

"It shouldn’t be 50 percent [of games played] over a guy who plays 90 percent and who has better numbers. Not just me. Zach Randolph, a power forward, he has better numbers [than Gasol]. But he’s not on the Lakers."

The T-Wolves have the unfortunate task of facing the Clippers and their pissed off big Friday. Kaman is averaging 19 points and over seven rebounds since returning from a back injury that held him out four games. Los Angeles is 3-3 since his return and has covered in four of those six contests.

Pick: Los Angeles

Boston (29-14, 18-25 ATS) at Atlanta (29-15 SU and ATS)

The Hawks will try to make it a season sweep of the Celtics when these Eastern Conference foes meet inside Philips Arena.

The Hawks have won and covered in all three meetings with Boston this season, including both matchups this month. These two met in Atlanta on Jan. 8 with the Hawks scoring a 93-85 win as 3½-point favorites, then three days later they went to Boston and upset the Celtics 102-96 as 3½-point underdogs. The home team is on a 10-4 ATS run in this series, with Atlanta riding a 5-1 ATS streak in Georgia.

Boston took a modest two-game winning streak (0-2 ATS) into Orlando on Thursday and blew a 16-point fourth-quarter lead, losing 96-94 but cashing as a 3½-point underdog to halt an 0-5 ATS slide. The Celtics have failed to reach triple digits in six straight games and have averaged just 91 points per game during this stretch.

Atlanta’s three-game SU and ATS winning streak came to an end on Wednesday when they fell 105-90 in San Antonio as a three-point underdog. The Hawks put up 107 ppg on their home court, where they are 18-5 SU and 16-7 ATS this season.

The Celtics are on ATS slides of 1-5 overall and 1-6 on the second night of a back-to-back, but they are on positive ATS streaks of 39-17-1 as an underdog and 17-7-1 on the road against teams with winning home records. Atlanta is on a plethora of positive pointspread runs, including 35-17-1 as a favorite, 5-2 at home, 9-3 after a day off, 10-2 against Atlantic Division teams and 5-1 against the Eastern Conference.

Boston has topped the total in nine of its last 14 Friday games, but it is on “under” runs of 4-2 overall and 10-5 against Southeast Division teams. The Hawks have topped the total in four of five against Atlantic Division foes, but they’ve stayed below the number in four straight at home against teams with winning road marks and five of six as a favorite of less than five points. In this rivalry, the over has been the play in 13 of the last 19 played in Atlanta.

ATS ADVANTAGE: ATLANTA

Denver (31-14, 21-22-2 ATS) at Oklahoma City (24-21, 27-18 ATS)

The Nuggets take their eight-game winning streak into the Ford Center in Oklahoma City for a matchup with the struggling Thunder.

Denver went to Houston on Wednesday and scored a 97-92 win as a 2½-point underdog, with Chauncey Billups leading the way with 21 points as All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony (injury) missed his second straight game. Despite that victory, the Nuggets are just 10-11 on the road this season, going 8-12-1 at the betting window as a visitor. They give up 101.2 ppg on the highway and allow the opposition to shoot 45.4 percent from the floor.

Oklahoma City has dropped three straight games (2-1 ATS), including Wednesday’s 96-86 home loss to the Bulls as a six-point favorite. The Thunder got 28 points and 11 rebounds from Kevin Durant and 62 points from their top three players of Durant, Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook but still fell short, as they’ve now dropped three in a row following a three-game winning streak. Prior to Wednesday’s contest, Oklahoma City had played four straight games decided by a total of eight points. It is just 12-10 SU and 11-11 ATS at home this season.

Denver has won five straight against the Thunder, but failed to cover in any of the last six (including four games as a double-digit favorite). The Nuggets scored a 102-93 home win back on Dec. 14, coming up just short as a 10-point favorite. Denver has won nine of the last 10 meetings (4-6 ATS), with the winner scoring a minimum of 112 points in the first nine clashes prior to last month’s contest.

The Nuggets are on ATS slides of 2-7-1 on the road, 3-9-2 against Western Conference teams, 4-10 after getting one day off and 1-4 on Friday. Oklahoma City is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven home games, but otherwise is on positive ATS runs of 4-0 on Friday, 5-0 against teams with a winning record and 39-17 after a straight-up loss.

For Denver, the over is 5-2 in its last seven overall, but the under is 4-1 in its last five roadies. The Thunder have topped the total in 16 of 23 after a non-cover and six of eight on Friday, but they’re also on “under” streaks of 5-1 overall, 6-2 at home, 6-2 after a day off and 10-4 against the Western Conference. Finally, in this series, the “over” is 19-7 in the last 26 meetings, with the last six in Oklahoma City hurdling the total.

ATS ADVANTAGE: OKLAHOMA CITY

Portland (27-20, 24-22-1 ATS) at Houston (24-21, 22-23 ATS)

The Rockets will be looking to snap a three-game slide when they welcome the Trail Blazers into the Toyota Center in a matchup of struggling teams.

Portland has dropped two in a row (SU and ATS) and four of six overall (3-3 ATS), most recently falling to the Jazz 106-95 as a 2½-point home ‘dog Wednesday. The Blazers are finding the going tough without star point guard Brandon Roy, who is out with a hamstring injury. Portland hasn’t hit the century mark in six straight contests, averaging just 95.7 ppg.

The Rockets have dropped three straight and gone just 1-7 at the betting window in their last eight. On Wednesday they lost 97-92 to the Nuggets as a 2½-point home favorite. Houston has lost three straight overall (all at home), and is just 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS in its last five at the Toyota Center.

The home team has won eight straight meetings in this rivalry (4-4 ATS), including all three this season. Portland won 96-87 as an 8½-point favorite on Oct. 27, but Houston has cashed in the last two (111-107 win as a 2½-point home underdog on Oct. 31 and 90-89 loss as a 5½-point road pup on Dec. 5).

The Blazers have failed to cash in four of five against Western Conference teams, but they are on ATS runs of 13-3 on Friday, 6-2 on the road and 7-3 against teams with a winning record. On the opposite side, Houston’s 7-3 ATS streak against Northwest Division squads is offset by negative pointspread trend of 1-7 overall, 0-6 at home, 1-5 against the Western Conference, 1-5 after a non-cover and 0-4 after getting a day off.

It’s been all “overs” for Portland lately, including 4-0 overall, 5-0 against the Western Conference, 5-1 on Friday, 7-2 after a day off and 7-2 as an underdog. The Rockets have stayed below the total in five of seven against Northwestern Division teams, but otherwise they’re on “over” streaks of 6-2 overall and 7-2 on Fridays. Conversely, in this rivalry, the under is 6-1 in the last seven clashes overall and 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Houston.

ATS ADVANTAGE: PORTLAND

NBA RoundUp For 1/29
By Dan Bebe

Cavaliers @ Pacers - Cleveland by 7 with a total of 205.5. Believe it or not, I actually think this line is fair. The Cavs beat the Pacers by 10 the last time they came into Indiana as a 3.5-point favorite, and oddsmakers have adjusted the line accordingly, as the Cavs are a very, very strong team, and the Pacers are floundering right now. In all, the Pacers have lost 4 of 6, with strange road wins in Detroit and Philadelphia. They are coming off getting blown the heck out of their own building by the Lakers, so they're not really playing good basketball right now, and I just wonder if this team is really showing all their faults against the better teams in the NBA. Still, I need a ton of proof to pass up on a home dog of 7 points when the team has the talent to win games, and I'm not sure this game provides me ample proof. The Cavs managed to squeeze out a 14-point win over the Timberwolves, a cover, amazingly, and that was another game ending that makes you think the refs might still be betting. The Wolves fouled twice while down 10 with under a minute left, inexplicably. Very weird; very weird, indeed. In any case, I don't like the idea that folks that won with the Cavs against the Wolves are going to double up here. Cleveland is in the midst of a stretch of games against truly subpar teams, and I just don't know if the focus is going to be there to win big every day. I suppose, with revenge, I lean Pacers, but this game is going to need some sort of ridiculous 2-point line shift for me to get down on it. I also lean to the Over, as I think oddsmakers are telling us not to trust the Pacers' defense to slow down anyone. The Cavs are going to get near 110, and my hope is that the Pacers can crack 90.

Lakers @ Sixers - Lakers by 6.5 with a total of 202.5. Steamtrain Lakers rolls into the City of Brotherly Love. Is anyone willing to step in front of them right now? I'm not sure. The Lakers have creamed the Wizards and Pacers on the road in their last 2 games, and now they turn their attention on the higher-flying Sixers. I'm intrigued by the consistency of the Lakers lines. They continue to be favored by between 5 and 9 points against mediocre teams, and they continue to clobber. It does seem like that loss in Toronto woke them up, and maybe Kobe is just getting healthier, but given the way the Lakers have been playing, I just don't think I can go against them. I'm not sure I can back them, either, since they've got a showdown in Boston coming up on the 31st, but man, this is some kind of crazy. The Lakers have played 4 straight Overs; the Sixers have played 5 straight Unders. Each team won the road game last year. Yeesh. There's almost too much going on here. I'm going to cut this write-up short, as I know rambling is on the horizon, and I'll just get right down to brass tacks. I like Philadelphia in this one by a hair, courtesy of the Lakers look-ahead spot, and I like the Under, as well, since I just don't see the Lakers shooting 58% again, and the Sixers won't play at the tempo the Pacers set. This is just one of those spots where the Sixers, a miserable 5-17 ATS at home, will get it done. No one is going to want to back Philly here, and that's the perfect time to launch a sneak attack on the Lakers. You can thank the Celtics when the Lakers play this one right down the wire.

Celtics @ Hawks - Atlanta by 3.5 with a total of 190.5. Wow. You want to talk about situational angles? This game is a veritable treasure trove of "situationals" without any clear advantage. We'll just run through them quickly: Boston has double revenge (mind you, the Celts are just 3-10 ATS when avenging a loss), Boston is on a back-to-back (2-6 ATS on 0 days rest), and Boston has a showdown with Kobe and the Lakers coming up in 2 days. Boston suffered a demoralizing loss in Orlando last night, but did manage to cover to snap a 5-game ATS losing streak. What does all this mean? Tough to say. Atlanta returns home off getting throttled by the Spurs in their last contest for this one game at home, and they then head back out for 2 more in Orlando and Oklahoma City, so not the world's easiest spot for the Hawks, either. I just don't see a clear winner in the battle for better situational angles. The double-revenge and the back-to-back are almost both negatives for the Celtics, since it seems more like the Hawks are just a team that has Boston's number than anything else, but Atlanta might be a little fatigued, and I wonder if these teams can truly get excited about this one. I have no lean on the side, as of yet. The total of 190.5 is the lowest of the 3 games so far, and I think we're getting hinted at - if the public likes the over, and the line holds steady, I'd look at an Under as the best possible play in this one.

Wizards @ Nets - This line is OFF.

Heat @ Pistons - This line is OFF.

Clippers @ Timberwolves - This line is OFF.

Nuggets @ Thunder - This line is OFF.

Bulls @ Hornets - New Orleans by 4 with a total of 198. Can the Bulls keep up the bum rush? I happen to think this is another decent situational spot for Chicago, though not as good as the last one that I foolishly passed up because of a silly line move. Here, the Hornets are playing a home game in between road games. The Hornets have gone 3-1 SU and ATS in their 4 recent road games, but this home contest isn't the traditional "first game home" where we can expect some sluggishness, and the game tomorrow in Memphis isn't a traditional look-ahead spot, but at the same time, I'm not sure the Hornets are going to be in the perfect mindset for this one. They are coming back from Golden State, so a very long flight, and I wouldn't be surprised to see just a little sluggishness early that won't last as long as it might if the team was truly settling in for a homestand. They're playing damn good basketball, though, so it's tough to really turn your cheek to the Hornets success. I think the most important point to make about Nawlins (G, that was for you) is that this team, while 16-4 SU at home, is just 10-10 ATS. They do NOT cover as a home favorite (5-9 ATS), though they often win by a bucket. I can't even imagine a team playing more close games at home, and having such a quality player like Chris Paul basically ensures you'll win 60-70% of those close ones, but that's a much better ATS proposition when you're getting points. The big concern on the other side is that Chicago is finishing up their 7-game road trip, then taking 3 days off before a home game with the Clippers. Will they be as focused as they have been in the last few? Maybe. I lean slightly to Chicago, but this is another questionable game, in my opinion. The total of 198 looks wildly high, but the last time these teams played, it ended at 181 with a posted mark of 190, and oddsmakers felt the need to balloon this total by 8? A little fishy. New Orleans is on revenge, so my guess is that they win the game, but win by only 3 points. Too close to call, almost, but like I said, I lean a tiny bit to Chicago, and a tiny bit to the Over.

Grizzlies @ Spurs - San Antonio by 4 with a total of 199. The Spurs got a smooth, creamy win over the Hawks in their last game, and the big question in this one is "can they keep it going?" The Spurs have had a ton of success over the Grizzlies historically, but then, can we really use that information? It's not like they've been evenly matched and the Spurs just "have Memphis's number" - the Spurs have been a vastly superior team to the Grizzlies over the last decade-plus, and it's no surprise they've beat up on one of the bottom-feeders of the NBA. But such is not the case this year - Memphis already beat San Antonio once this season, a collected 92-86 win over, at the time, a road-weary Spurs team on a back-to-back. Come to think of it, both teams were on a back-to-back there, but the Spurs were coming off getting manhandled by the Bobcats, and the Grizz were coming off playing 3 strong quarters against the Wolves, and then resting the 4th. So if the Grizzlies were a 1-point favorite in that one, and a 4-point dog here, the power rankings would tell us that the Spurs have dropped about a point over the Grizzlies, and these teams are inching closer to being equal on a neutral court. This is another nearly impossible game to pick - the Grizzlies have covered 6 of 7, so they're hot. The Spurs just finally snapped a 3-game home losing streak, so they're trying to get it turned around. I actually like the Spurs here to get a little revenge, though the expected lack of Tony Parker is a bit of a blow to this team. I would wait on this one, then probably pass, but if you're a total action junkie (and I would tell you to quit gambling before telling you to make the bet), I lean Spurs, and I lean Under.

Blazers @ Rockets - Houston by 5 with a total of 194. This will be the 4th and final meeting between these two teams this season, so we have a lot of data to work with. Let's see what we've got. Game one, the Blazers beat the Rockets 96-87 as an 8.5-point favorite with a total of 188.5 (game went under); game two, the Rockets beat the Blazers 111-107 as 3-point home dogs with a posted total of 187.5 (whoops on that total!); game three, back in Portland, the Blazers squeaked out a 90-89 victory as a 5-point favorite, and a second "under" with a total posted at 193. So, here we are, sans-Brandon Roy, and the Rockets, apparently, with their strongest power ranking against Portland to this point. Just look at the swings we've seen, even in the home games for Houston. They were a 3-point dog at home in late October, and now a 5-point favorite? Even with Brandon Roy healthy, this would likely be a 2.5-point home favorite line, 5.5-points difference from that first home game. I think this is a pretty good situational spot for Houston, but this team has just been awful, lately. The Rockets have lost all 3 games on their current homestand, though the surging Bulls, Hawks, and Nuggets aren't any slouch teams, either. Is this one of those spots where taking 5 points with even an undermanned Portland team is a trap? Definitely makes you wonder. I don't have a strong feeling on the side, but it is important to note that Portland plays again tomorrow in Dallas, so this is the start of a very tiring back-to-back in Texas. I think Portland has shown this year that they do not fear the back-to-back scenario, but Houston wants to get that season series even. I just think we're paying a premium to take the Rockets here, potentially because of the revenge and because Roy is out. I can't advocate taking a line with little value just because I think the Rockets are going to win. Houston is playing zero defense right now, so I don't see them pulling away - if the Rockets win this game, it's going to be between 1 and 7 points. I lean to Portland, and I lean to the Over, since this is now officially the highest total set in any game between these two teams this year.

Kings @ Jazz - This line is OFF.

Bobcats @ Warriors - Bobcats by 1.5 with a total of 208. Another difficult situational game here, with the Bobcats starting a back-to-back that concludes tomorrow in Sacramento. They picked up a nice OT win in Phoenix in their last game, and I think the one huge question that needs to be answered is whether the Bobcats will suffer a bit of a letdown after that powerhouse road victory in the Valley of the Sun. They are laying a very small number on the road, and this is just the sort of line that sharps love to toy with. We might very well see this thing flip favorites before the day is done, but I would say pay very little attention to that. You can consider all the other factors in this one: that Golden State is playing their second home game, then heading on the road, so they should be motivated to get a win, here; that the Bobcats have to contend with Sacramento, Portland and the Lakers before heading home, so their focus might be a bit screwball; that the Bobcats just snapped a 3-game losing streak with that win in Phoenix; that Charlotte is still just not that strong on the road...the list goes on and on, but the big question, listed above, is still whether this is a letdown spot. If you think it is, this a prime spot to back the Warriors, and potentially an over, since Charlotte's defense will weaken before their offense; if you think it isn't a letdown spot, Charlotte should roll. I happen to think it is a little bit of a letdown, and I lean Warriors, but I actually think the total is inflated from the Warriors style of play and Charlotte coming off an OT game, and I kinda, barely, sorta like the Under.

Tips and Trends

Cleveland Cavaliers at Indiana Pacers

Cavaliers (-6.5, O/U 205.5): Both the Cavaliers and F LeBron James enjoy playing against the Pacers. The Cavaliers have won 11 of the last 12 meetings SU against the Pacers, and LeBron James is averaging more than 40 PTS the last 3 times he's played in Indiana. Cleveland is playing great basketball, as they are 36-11 SU this year, the best record in the entire NBA. Cleveland has won 6 consecutive games coming into tonight's contest. The Cavaliers are 18-8 SU and 14-11-1 ATS on the road this season. Cleveland is only 8-9 ATS as a single digit road favorite this entire season. James is 2nd in the NBA in scoring at 29.6 PPG, one tenth of a point behind the NBA lead. C Shaquille O'Neal is the only other active player currently averaging double digits in scoring this season, with 11.3 PPG. Cleveland has the 3rd best defense in the NBA, allowing only 94.5 PPG this season.

Cavs are 16-5 ATS last 21 vs. NBA Central.
Over is 6-1 last 7 games as a favorite.

Key Injuries - PG Delonte West (finger) is questionable.
G Mo Williams (shoulder) is out.

PROJECTED SCORE: 111 (Side of the Day)

Pacers: Indiana is struggling right now, as they've lost 5 of their past 7 games SU in route to a 16-30 SU record. The Pacers are 10-12 SU and 9-13 ATS at home this season. The Pacers are 3-7 ATS as the listed home underdog this season. Indiana is also 20-26 ATS for the entire year, so needless to say it's been a tough year all the way around for this Pacers team. Indiana really struggles on defense this year, as they've giving up more than 100 PTS in 8 of their past 9 games this season. The Pacers allow 104.4 PPG this season, so more often than not this team is playing from behind. All 5 starters for the Pacers average double digits in PTS, led by F Danny Granger and his 23.2 PPG. F Troy Murphy averages 14 PPG and nearly 10 RPG for Indiana. Indiana is 0-20 SU when Murphy grabs less than 11 rebounds in a game.

Pacers are 7-1 ATS last 8 games following a SU loss.
Under is 5-0 last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Key Injuries - F Tyler Hansbrough (ear) is out.
C Jeff Foster (back) is out.

PROJECTED SCORE: 95

Los Angeles Lakers at Philadelphia 76ers

Lakers (-6.5, O/U 202.5): Los Angeles and G Kobe Bryant always circle their game in Philadelphia on the calendar each season. Ever since the Lakers played the Sixers in the Finals years ago, they've enjoyed playing against Philadelphia. Bryant is from the Philadelphia area, and he's averaged 26 PPG, 5 APG, and 5 RPG the last 7 times he's played in Philadelphia. The Lakers are 35-11 SU this season, the 2nd best record in the entire NBA and the best record in the Western Conference. The Lakers are 12-8 SU and 8-12 ATS on the road this season. Los Angeles is also 6-8 ATS as a single digit road favorite this season. The Lakers have scored 115 PTS or more in 3 of their past 4 games, as they've been playing very efficiently on the offensive end. They are 4th in the NBA in scoring, averaging 104 PPG for the season. Defensively, the Lakers are only allowing opponents to shoot 43.9% from the field, 4th best in the NBA.

Lakers are 5-0 ATS last 5 games vs. a team with a losing SU record.
Over is 5-0 last 5 games as a road favorite.

Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 107 (OVER - Total of the Day)

76ers: Philadelphia has been a major disappointment this season, as they are only 15-30 SU this season. The Sixers aren't in good form currently either, as they've lost 4 of their past 6 games both SU and ATS. Philadelphia is only 7-15 SU and 5-17 ATS at home this season. The Sixers are also 1-6 ATS as a home underdog, winning their last game against the Mavericks ATS in that specific role. Philadelphia does have 5 current players averaging double digits in PTS this season, led by F Andre Igoudala. Igoudala averages 17.4 PPG, but is only shooting 42% from the field this season. As a team, the Sixers score the 9th fewest PTS in the NBA at 97.7 PPG. Defensively, the Sixers allow 100.4 PPG, but they are improving slightly as they've held 8 of their past 10 opponents under 100 PTS. The Sixers have lost both recent meetings at home to the Lakers, allowing an average of 110 PPG in both games combined.

76ers are 1-7 ATS last 8 games as a home underdog.
Under is 6-0 last 6 home games.

Key Injuries - None.

PROJECTED SCORE: 101
