Jazz's Williams misses practice with flu
May 27, 2007

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams sat out practice Sunday because of a stomach illness and is considered probable to play Game 4 of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.

Williams had 31 points, eight assists and five steals in Utah's 109-83 victory Saturday night that got the Jazz back into the series, 2-1.

``You saw by his performance last night that he makes us go, so obviously we want him to be well,'' fellow starting guard Derek Fisher said. ``We'll be concerned if he's not able to play. Right now is such a taxing time. Guys are really expending themselves. After each game, you're just kind of depleted.''

Jazz officials said Williams came to the team's practice facility but was given medicine and sent home.

Williams a game time decision for Jazz in Game 4
May 28th, 2007

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Utah Jazz point guard Deron Williams is a game-time decision for Game 4 tonight of the Western Conference finals against the San Antonio Spurs.

A spokesman for the Jazz confirmed that Williams, who has a stomach flu, did not participate in the team's shootaround on Monday.

In Game 3 on Saturday, Williams scored 31 points as Utah used a dominant second half to beat the Spurs, 109-83, as the Jazz trail the best-of-seven series 2-1.

If Williams does not play, Utah will likely go with veteran Derek Fisher in his place.
