NBA Picks & Predictions for Wednesday, November 17, 2010

The Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Hornets are jockeying for the top spot in the Western Conference when the two meet on Wednesday night in the NBA.
The Hornets are 8-1 on the year, coming off their first loss of the season in their last game. They are 5-0 at home. Dallas is 7-2 on the season and have won four straight. The Mavericks are 3-0 on the road this season.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook BroburySports.com have made the Hornets a 4.5-point favorite at home against Dallas on Wednesday. The over/under has been set at 191. Here are some trends to consider and my pick for tonight’s game:
Dallas Mavericks vs. New Orleans Hornets, 8PM ET
The Mavericks have failed to cover the spread in their last four games in New Orleans while the home team is 5-1-2 against the spread in the last eight games of this series. The over has also hit in five of the last six between these two teams.
