NBA Tips and Trends

Orlando Magic at Atlanta Hawks

Magic: Orlando has reached the 50-victory plateau for the first time since winning 60 during the 1995-96 season. "When someone says you?re a 50-win team, that?s a compliment," Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy. "We?ve happy to get here." Whether or not that means the team's regular-season goals have been achieved remains to be seen. Orlando is cemented into the third spot in the Eastern Conference while Atlanta is eighth.

Magic are 30-14-2 ATS in their last 42 road games.
The UNDER is 12-4-1 in Orlando's last 17 games vs. Southwest Division.

Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Hawks (NA): Atlanta has won 4 of the last 5 meetings with Orlando both SU & ATS and is looking to rebound from a 10-point home loss to Celtics. The Hawks are on the brink of the playoffs and would like to build up their confidence heading into the postseason against the top-seeded Celtics. They still need 1 more victory to clinch the last playoff spot with 2 games remaining.

Home team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings.
The UNDER is 15-7 in Atlanta's last 22 games vs. Southwest Division.
The UNDER is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Los Angeles Clippers at New Orleans Hornets

Clippers: LA will be finishing up the regular season on the road for the third time in 4 years. The Clips will also be sitting home from the playoffs for the 21st time in 24 years since they moved to Los Angeles, something that has left some of the their players feeling empty. ?Gearing up for the playoffs is one of the best feelings that you can have as a player,? LA forward Tim Thomas said.

Clippers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and have lost all 5 SU by an average of 18 points.
The UNDER is 7-1 in LA's last 8 Tuesday games.

Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Hornets (-15, O/U 198): There are still a number of different playoff possibilities for New Orleans after the team stumbled to a 94-91 loss at Sacramento on Saturday. The Hornets lost their grip on the top seed to the Lakers and can could finish the regular season as low as fifth in the Western Conference. That makes this home finale against the Clippers even more important, as New Orleans visits Dallas on Wednesday in the last game of the season.

Hornets are 21-6 ATS in their last 27 games vs. Pacific Division.
Hornets are 21-8 ATS in their last 29 home games.
The UNDER is 7-1 in New Orleans' last 27 games vs. Pacific Division.

Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Sacramento Kings at Los Angeles Lakers

Kings: No team in the NBA has embraced the role of "spoiler" more than Sacramento. Head coach Reggie Theus deserves some credit for getting his team to play hard down the stretch despite being out of the playoff race. Leading scorer Kevin Martin missed the win over the Hornets with a knee injury, but John Salmons stepped up with 18 points. "I'm very proud," Theus said of his team. "I?m very impressed with our players who are taking pride in finishing the season strong."

Kings are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall.
The OVER is 19-7-1 in the last 27 meetings.

Key Injuries - F Ron Artest (20.5 ppg; thumb) is probable.
G Kevin Martin (23.7 ppg; knee) is questionable.

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD

Lakers (NA): LA simply needs to win this game against the rival Kings to earn home-court advantage through the Western Conference Finals. The Lakers will be facing a hungry Sacramento team though that is coming off a 94-91 win over New Orleans on Saturday night. The Kings have been a bit of a nemesis and may try to antagonize Kobe Bryant, who will be suspended for the first game of the playoffs if he picks up 1 more technical foul.

Lakers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games.
Lakers are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games vs. Pacific Division.

Key Injuries - NONE

PROJECTED SCORE: TBD
