MIAMI (OHIO) vs. UCLA
Miami (Ohio) is 4-2 SU in its last 6 games
The total has gone OVER in 4 of Miami (Ohio)'s last 6 games
UCLA is 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games
UCLA is 15-1 SU in its last 16 games

Miami OH has six seniors on this squad, and are picked atop Eastern half of MAC by Sporting News. They beat Xavier, Misssissippi State and Illinois LY, so they're pretty good, and they survived a tough game with Weber State, Ben Howland's alma mater, last night. UCLA has been in three straight Final Fours, but has to replace 48% of its scoring, 46% of its rebounding from LY- they're 45-9 in Pac-10 last three years, but are weaker now (so is the Pac-10). Bruins crushed Prairie View last nite, but they did have 23 turnovers, so this could be a better early season game than you'd think.

Prairie View vs. Weber State

What stinks about doing handicapping early is the fact that some of the lines for these ballgames are not released until much later in the afternoon. But, having said that, Prairie View covered easily over UCLA on the road. Weber State was one of my selections from yesterday and they got it done over Miami of Ohio easily as a 12.5 dog. As per this game, although the line is not released, note that Weber State is a solid team but you have to admit one has to admire the grit of the Prairie View team in the early goings of the UCLA game despite losing their top 2 scorers from last year. Still, a lean on the Big Sky team here in Weber State.
