Nets acquire Wesley
October 29th, 2007

East Rutherford, NJ (Sports Network) - The New Jersey Nets acquired guard David Wesley from the New Orleans Hornets on Monday.

The Nets sent guard/forward Bernard Robinson, center Mile Ilic and cash considerations to New Orleans.

Wesley, out of Baylor, averaged 2.1 points and 1.0 rebounds per game in 35 contests with Cleveland last season.

He was acquired by the Hornets on September 29 in exchange for forward Cedric Simmons.

The 36-year-old Texas native returns to the Nets, where he began his NBA career back in 1993-94. Wesley enters his 15th pro season, averaging 12.5 points-per-game over 949 contests with the Nets, Celtics, Hornets, Rockets and Cavaliers.

Robinson came to the Nets in January from Charlotte, appearing in 10 games last season with New Jersey. Ilic spent five games with the Nets in 2006-2007, also seeing time with the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League.
