Monday's comp play comes in the NBA, as I play Under the total in the Milwaukee-Indiana contest.

The series numbers show an Under in the books from last Friday night when the teams played in Milwaukee, as the Under is now 4-1 the past 5 meetings, and 6-3 overall the last 9 times these teams have squared off.

The Bucks have played 3 of their last 4 games overall Under the total, while the Pacers enter with 3 straight and 6 of their last 8 games played overall Under the total.

Milwaukee also happens to have held Under the price in each of their last 4 Monday night contests, and are 8-1 their last 9 road games contested against teams that sport a winning home ledger for the season. Both trends do indeed apply to tonight's game.

Remember that for the season, Indy has been a team that has trended towards the Under, as the Pacers stand at 26-36-1 Under the total for the season.

Friday night in Wisconsin was an Under, Monday night in Indiana also an Under. Bucks-Pacers Low.

3* MILWAUKEE-INDIANA UNDER

NBA | Magic vs Jazz
Play on: Jazz -9½ -115 at BMaker

My 1* Free Play is on the Utah Jazz (9:05 EST).

Utah is 33-30 and it comes in having won two in a row. The Jazz are now two games out of a playoff spot after beating the Kings 98-91 in their latest action.

Orlando though looks poised for a letdown here after two straight wins, most recently pulling away for a 107-100 victory against the Grizzlies. All five starters shot above 50 percent and each finished in double digits.

The Jazz stumbled out of the All Star break, but with victories over the Mavericks and Kings, Utah looks ready for one last run to end the year. Rookie Donovan Mitchell had 27 points, five boards and five assists in his team’s win over Sacramento.

The Magic have been a disaster in this spot for bettors for a long time though, going just 17-35 ATS in their last 52 following a straight up win, while the Jazz have been “money in the bank” by going 22-12 ATS in their last 34 against poor defensive teams which allow 106-plus points per night.

I think the Jazz take advantage of this opportunity and pull away late. Consider the home side in this one.

Good luck…Larry

NBA | Magic vs Jazz
Play on: Magic +10½ -110 at betonline

Play - Orlando Magic (Game 711).

Edges - Magic: 8-2 ATS as double-digit road dogs this season… Jazz: 1-7 ATS L8 games overall. With the Magic looking to avenge a 125-85 clobbering at home earlier this season in this season, we recommend a 1* play on Orlando. Thank you and good luck as always.

NBA | Bucks vs Pacers
Play on: Pacers -2½ -105 at pinnacle

10* FREE NBA PICK (Pacers -2.5)

I'll take the bait here with the Pacers at basically a pick'em at home against the Bucks on Monday. Indiana just won at Milwaukee 103-96 as a 3.5-point dog last Friday. Some will be on the Bucks here thinking they will get their revenge from that recent defeat, but I don't like the spot here for Milwaukee at all.

The Bucks ended up winning 118-110 at home over the 76ers last night, but were down 12 at the half and had to use up a lot of energy late to pull out the victory. I think it's going to be hard for Milwaukee to bring the intensity needed to win on the road over a division rival on no rest.

Let's also not overlook just how well the Pacers have been playing at home. Indiana is 10-2 SU in their last 12 home games, which includes a 109-96 win over these Bucks as a mere 1.5-point favorite. Pacers are also 15-5 ATS in their last 20 home games off a road win (won at Washington yesterday), while Milwaukee is a mere 3-11-2 ATS in their last 16 division games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 off a SU win. Give me Indiana -2.5!

NBA | Magic vs Jazz
Play on: Magic +10 -108 at 5Dimes

Jonathan Isaac is a rookie power forward averaging less than five points a game. But Isaac brings a defensive presence and a spark. He just returned from an injury. The Magic are 10-7 when Isaac plays and 10-36 without him.
There's more than meets the eye to the Magic than their 20-43 record. They have covered 15 of the last 19 times as an underdog, including nine of their last 10 road games. Only twice in their last 12 games has Orlando lost by double-digits. The Magic are a lottery team again. But they are playing hard and finally healthy with center Nikola Vucevic, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier and Isaac all playing. This hasn't been the case for much of the season. Vucevic is averaging 17.3 points in six games since returning from a broken hand. He'll draw the attention of Rudy Gobert. Utah has been hot winning 14 of its last 16 games. The Jazz, though, weren't that sharp in their last game, a 98-91 road win against Sacramento two days ago. They are just 1-6 ATS in their last seven games. Utah doesn't have the talent level to win by double-digits if not playing well. A non-conference matchup against a bad team isn't likely to be a huge motivation factor for the Jazz. Note, too, that the Magic have covered during their last five visits to Utah. (Editor's note: Stephen Nover is one of the top NBA 'cappers in the country and is 43-28 on his last 71 premium/free NBA plays. Stephen's Monday card is topped by his NBA Game of the Week.)

NBA | Pistons vs Cavs
Play on: Pistons +7 -110 at 5Dimes
Detroit vs Cleveland Free Pick March 5, 2018

The Cleveland Cavaliers are a seven point home favorite Monday versus the Pistons, despite the fact that they have lost three of four games on their current home stand. The Cavs were blown out by Denver on Saturday, losing 126-117. They also lost center Tristan Thompson who sprained his ankle in the loss to Denver, and he's expected to miss several games. With no Love or Thompson, the last man standing is Larry Nance Jr., who is playing at less than 100 percent after hyper extending his knee against the Nuggets. The Pistons won the last meeting between these two teams by a score of 125-114 back in January. Andre Drummond was dominant in that game, scoring 21 points and pulling in 22 rebounds. He and Blake Griffin should be able to have their way here against a banged up Cleveland front court. I'll take the Pistons plus the points, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Detroit wins this game outright.

Take DET.

GL,

NBA | Blazers vs Lakers
Play on: Lakers +2 -107 at 5Dimes

This is a 1* Free Play on the LA Lakers.

LA has won five straight, including four straight on the road. LA plays with revenge here after falling to the Blazers 95-92 on December 23rd. Note that LA is 9-1 ATS this year after playing three consecutive road games and 11-7 ATS off an upset win as an underdog. Portland has won eight of ten, including six straight, but with a “cream puff” at home against the Knicks tomorrow night, before then welcoming the defending champs to town on Friday, all signs point to the home side avenging the earlier loss in this series (note that the Blazers are just 3-4 ATS this year after playing three consecutive home games.) Consider the LAKERS in this matchup.
