My free play for Sunday is on the New York Knicks against the visiting Detroit Pistons, who are in the Big Apple for a couple.
And they won't have the services of Blake Griffin this afternoon. Nor will he play in Brooklyn tomorrow.
I know the Pistons are five games out of the eighth and final playoff spot, and have just seven games left, and the last thing they needed was an injury to Griffin, who suffered an ankle contusion and will be re-evaluated next week.
The Knicks have their own motivation to play for, as it appears everyone is playing for their livelihoods down the stretch.
This is a team that has had to overcome plenty of adversity, and has grown closer as the team has progressed. It has improved, and the players have learned to trust and rely on one another.
I like the Knicks chances in this one.

My free play for Saturday is on the Atlanta Braves and the visiting Philadelphia Phillies going Over the posted total.

Not when the Braves have used 13 pitchers, and Phillies have used 15 pitchers in 20 innings to begin their seasons.
Call it extreme bullpen makeover.
These teams split the first two games while exhausting their bullpens, as the Braves posted an opening 8-5 walk-off victory on Nick Markakis's ninth-inning homer in the series-opener and the Phillies prevailed 5-4 in 11 innings yesterday.
Each team used five relievers in Thursday's opener. Philadelphia went to the pen eight times and Atlanta six times Friday.
How many arms are left?
I look at something like that and immediately play the value in this situation.
