MLB | CHC vs MIA
Play on: OVER 7½ -127

The Marlins are going to be one of the worst teams in the league after Derek Jeter and ownership gutted them. Jose Urena is the team's ace and he gets the call on Thursday. Urena had a decent spring outside of one horrific outing against the Cardinals. Chicago's lineup is going to be one of the best in the league and I expect them to do a lot of the heavy lifting in this one. The Marlins bullpen is not very good and they may have to cover a lot of innings as well. The road was unkind to Jon Lester last year going 6-5 with a 4.09 ERA in 16 outings. He probably won't get a lot of resistance from this lineup but a run or two would go a long way. Chicago's bullpen has a lot of unsettled roles and had 26 losses and 20 blown saves last year. I think we could see a 5-3, 6-2 type game in this one.

MLB | Angels vs A's
Play on: A's +122 at 5Dimes

MLB 75 DIME GAME

A'S +122

The Oakland Athletics have one of the youngest rosters in baseball because they embraced another rebuild last season, and got rid of some young talent like Sonny Gray, who was traded to the New York Yankees at the trade deadline.

While their chances of making the playoffs this season are small, don’t expect the Athletics to lay down for their opponents because they still have enough talent on their team to cause problems for their AL West opponents.

Last season, Graveman was 5-0 at home with a 2.94 ERA. He was 1-1 against the Angels with a 4.66 ERA. Oakland will be hoping his solid play at home continues this season when they face Richards and the Angels. However, Graveman will need some run support from his teammates, which was something the Athletics struggled to do last season.

A's win 5-3

NBA | Pacers vs Kings
Play on: Kings +7½ -102 at pinnacle

Play - Sacramento Kings (Game 708).

Edges - Kings: 4-0 ATS on Thursdays… Pacers: 3-10 ATS on Thursdays… With the Kings off a 6-point home favorite loss and playing with same season revenge, and Indiana off an 11-point win at Golden State, we recommend a 1* play on Sacramento. Thank you and good luck as always.

MLB | Indians vs Mariners
Play on: Indians -160 at 5Dimes

On Opening Day in baseball, Play Against home teams like SEATTLE in their first 12 games of the season, after closing out last season poorly with 11+ losses in last 15 games, against an opponent in their first 12 games of the season, after closing out last season strong with 20+ wins in last 30 games. In the past two decades, this situation is 37-6, 86.0 percent.

MLB | Cubs vs Marlins
Play on: Marlins +180 at 5Dimes

Miami +180

The Cubs got off to a slow start last year and open up at Miami on Thursday afternoon. The Marlins played above .500 in the exhibition season and should be excited in proving everyone wrong after trading away key players fro last year. Nice value on the home underdog.

MLB | Rockies vs Diamondbacks
Play on: Diamondbacks -107 at betonline

My 1* Free Play is the Diamondbacks on Opening Day 2018 (10:10 EST).

Jon Gray was 10-10 with a 4.61 ERA in 2016 and 10-4 with a 3.67 ERA in 2017. He was by far the best starter for the Rockies overall last year, somehow managing a better ERA at hitter friendly Coors Field (3.13), compared to on the road (4.06.)

Gray though comes into his Opening Day start off a horrible Spring, giving up a whopping nine earned runs off 13 hits over 8.1 innings of work.

The home side counters with Patrick Corbin who was 5-13 with a 5.15 ERA in 2016 and 14-13 with a 4.03 ERA in 2017.

In his final Spring tune-up he’d give up three runs (two earned) while striking out three over five innings in a 6-1 loss to the Indians. Corbin though looked strong, posting a respectable 8/3 GB/FB ratio.

Robbie Ray and Zach Greinke are both starting the season on the DL, hence the reason Corbin is thrust into the spotlight on Opening night.

While neither of these starters instils a ton of confidence, recent form from Gray suggests that he’s going to be in for a long night in this hostile environment.

The price seems right here, consider a second look at Arizona on Opening Night.

Good luck…Larry

MLB | Cubs vs Marlins
Play on: Cubs -1½ -119 at 5Dimes

10* FREE MLB PICK (Cubs -1.5)

I'll take my chances with the Cubs winning by at least 2 runs in Thursday's season opener at Miami. Chicago is one of the best teams in all of baseball and I think this team is on a mission in 2018. The Cubs lineup is absolutely stacked from top to bottom and their core players really showed well in spring training. Chicago has as many as 7 guys who could hit 20+ homers. They also have one of the better starting staffs in the game and will send out veteran ace Jon Lester in this one. Lester was sharp in spring training, posting a 2.81 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 16 innings. He should have no problem shutting down a horrible Marlins lineup. Miami has the looks of the worst team in the league and with an unhappy fan base given all the trades this offseason, attendance will be way down. All the angles point to an easy win here for the visitors. Give me the Cubs -1.5 (-119)!

MLB | Rockies vs Diamondbacks
Play on: Diamondbacks +101 at 5Dimes

I'm backing the Arizona Diamonbacks on Thursday. Zack Greinke has a groin injury so Arizona will turn to Pat Corbin to pitch on Opening Day and that's not a bad choice as the Diamondbacks have won seven of Corbin's last eight home starts against Colorado and 12 of his last 15 starts versus the Rockies overall. Arizona lost J.D. Martinez, but it still has an explosive offense led by Paul Goldschmidt, who hit .297 with 36 home runs and 120 RBIs in 2017. Corbin had a 3.15 ERA at home last year and 2.29 in the month of April. Jon Gray actually pitched better at home at Coors Field than on the road last season and he allowed seven runs on 19 hits in 18 innings against the Diamondbacks. Arizona hitters are batting a collective .338 versus Gray with an .842 OPS. Arizona was 52-29 at home last season and the Rockies were 41-40 on the road. Arizona has won eight of the last 10 meetings and we'll look for them to take the home opener tonight. I'm recommending a play on the Diamondbacks on Thursday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.

MLB | PHI vs ATL
Play on: UNDER 8 -105

Phillies vs Braves Free Pick March 29, 2018

The Braves open the season at home versus Philly, and the visitors are actually a slight favorite.

Julio Teheran will toe the slab for Atlanta, and he's coming off a stellar spring. The Braves are 8-3 in Teheran's last 11 starts versus the Phillies. The right-hander is 5-3 with a 3.72 ERA in his last 11 starts versus the Phillies.

Philadelphia will hand the ball to Aaron Nola, who was 2-0 with a 1.20 ERA in two starts versus Atlanta last season. The 24 year old was sharp in spring training, going 2-1 with a 3.50 ERA in five starts. He struck out 18 batters in 18 innings of work.

These two teams have failed to reach the total in seven of the last eight head to head meetings.

Take UNDER.

GL,

Jesse Schule

MLB | Yankees vs Blue Jays
Play on: Blue Jays +1½ -130 at 5Dimes

#MLB FREE PICK FROM MIKE LUNDIN

The New York Yankees are heading into the season with high expectations. They have a new manager in Aaron Boone and an exciting star signing in Giancarlo Stanton from Miami. The Yankees will get the campaign underway with a four-game series at Toronto, and I think the home team will give the Bronx Bombers a tough game here in the opener.

Left-hander J.A. Happ will take the ball for the home team. He was 10-11 with a 3.53 ERA last season and held the Yankees to two runs and eight hits over 11 1/3 innings cover two starts, winning both contests. He has the current Yankees roster limited to a .229 AVG over a total of 153 at bats.

The Yankees hand the ball to Luis Severino who finished the season 14-6 behind a 2.98 ERA, but he was charged with seven runs on 14 hits through 12 2/3 innings against the Blue Jays.

My free pick is on Toronto Blue Jays +1.5.
