Your Wednesday freebie is the Pelicans plus the points at the Spurs.

Why not?

New Orleans is hot, hot, hot. Winners of 6 in a row now, the Pelicans have also covered in 5 of those 6 wins.

San Antonio did upend Cleveland their last time on the court, but Coach Pop's team is only 2-6 straight up their last 8 games, and they have failed 2 of their last 3 when listed as the favorite.

New Orleans has started to "true up" to San Antonio in their recent series meetings, as the Pelicans own straight up wins in 2 of the last 3 series meetings, including a 107-90 win in the first meeting of the year back in November.

Against the spread, the Pelicans have covered each of the last 3 showdowns. They have also covered in 5 of the past 7, and 10 of the last 13 overall against the Sours.

Points work tonight in Alamo Town.

4* NEW ORLEANS

While Houston should be safe on the "cut line" for an invite to the NCAA Tournament, I am sure Kelvin Sampson would like to see his team step up in this conference road spot at SMU on Wednesday night and walk away with a road win against the injury-riddled Mustangs.

The Cougars followed their clunker at Memphis with a epic beat down over East Carolina on Sunday, 109-58, but they have lost their last 3 visits to Moody Coliseum.

SMU's only 2 wins in their last 9 games have come against that Pirates team from East Carolina that I just mentioned, and with Milton, Ray and Foster still watching from the bench, I don't see how the Ponies have the depth to stay with this deep Cougars team for the full 40-minutes.

Houston did win the first meeting 67-58 as the -9 point home favorite on February 8th, and there just aren't many teams in the land that have been blowing as hot as the Cougars have down the stretch - 8-2 straight up, and 7-2-1 against the spread in those 10 games.

Play tonight in Dallas on the Cougars as the road favorite.

2* HOUSTON

NCAA-B | Dayton vs La Salle
Play on: La Salle -3 -105 at BMaker

Ricky's Free play on the La Salle Explorers -3:

Key Angle: It's important to remember that Ricky never makes a bet on any game based on just one angle. In order to make the grade, all his premium picks must meet several important criteria. He doesn't share all his secrets within his analysis, instead he chooses to reveal only the angle that he feels is the most significant. In tonight's game there's no doubt that the recent history between these two teams in particularly significant. The home team has won nine of the last 10 meetings in this series, and La Salle is 3-1 straight up, and 3-1 ATS in the last four meetings. Dayon has lost nine of 10 on the road this season, and the Flyers are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. La Salle averages over 78 points per game at home, more than 10 points more than Dayton average on the road.

Key Trends:

- The Flyers are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games.

- The Flyers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss.

- The Home team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

Verdict: Take La Salle -3

Ben Burns

NCAA-B | Providence vs Xavier
Play on: Xavier -10 -101 at 5Dimes

At a FANTASTIC 64-43 (+$10.5K) Ben Burns is enjoying another AWESOME FEBRUARY. Already a WHITE HOT 7-1 to start the week and with an EXTRA STRONG CARD going Wednesday, he's expecting to close out the month on a high note. In addition to being 7-1 the last two days overall, Ben is also 7-1 with his L8 "top-rated" basketball plays. His top rated college basketball is hitting BETTER THAN 60% (42-27) since Thanksgiving. That continues a long-term run of BIG PLAY DOMINANCE on the hardwood; over the past several years, Ben's top-rated basketball selections have generated an INSANE $88.6K PROFIT! Here, he takes a look at Providence/Xavier.

Some of you will likely recall that I successfully played on Providence when the Friars upset the Musketeers earlier in the season. Listed as +6-point underdogs, the Friars came through for me with a great effort, winning by a comfortable 81-72 score. That was there and then. This is here and now. The Musketeers are 16-1 at home. The lone loss came in their last game here, against Villanova. They're going to be in an angry mood tonight. The Friars also beat Xavier, at Providence, last season. However, the Musketeers won the game here at Xavier by a commanding 82-56 score, while listed as -9.5 point favorites. Playing their final regular season home game, expect the revenge-mined Musketeers, 5-2 ATS their last seven when attempting to avenge a road loss, to come through with another double-digit win tongiht. Consider XAVIER.

NBA | Raptors vs Magic
Play on: Magic +9½ -105 at 5Dimes

Play - Orlando Magic (Game 704).

Edges - Magic: 10-3 ATS as conference HD’s of 5 or more points… Raptors: 1-4 ATS in double one-day rest situations… With Toronto off a 29-point home win Sunday, and the Magic looking for its first win since the All-Star break, we recommend a 1* play on Orlando. Thank you and good luck as always.

NBA | Raptors vs Magic
Play on: Magic +9½ -105 at BMaker

Scott "The Bulldog" Rickenbach NBA Game #704 Wednesday Free Pick Orlando Magic (+) vs Toronto Raptors @ 7:05 ET - The Raptors are on fire with 8 wins in their last 9 games so they are getting a lot of attention here from the betting markets. However, Toronto does have a big game with fellow division-leader Washington on deck. It is hard for the Raptors not to be peeking ahead to the Wizards game coming up Friday when they are facing the lowly Magic tonight. The fact that Orlando has lost 6 in a row SU certainly bears mentioning but this is a team that has been competitive in most of their games for many weeks now. In fact, the Magic are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games and, with the big points they're getting on their home floor here, I expect another cover in this one! Orlando is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against teams with a winning record and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against teams that average 106 points or more per game. They'll surprise a lot of people and "hang with" Toronto throughout this game! Free Pick ORLANDO

NCAA-B | Nevada vs UNLV
Play on: Nevada -153 at pinnacle

Nevada over UNLV

Real difficult spot for the Rebs (19-10) after the recent 91-90 loss to New Mexico. Now they must show up at home against 25-5 Nevada who has the better defense. In their last few meetings, UNLV won at Nevada 86-78 but, Nevada prior crushed UNLV 94-58 on this same floor. Coming in UN has won 5 straight games. showing 5-2 ATS at UNLV. While in contrast, the Rebs bring a 15-37-3 ATS record vs. MWC and 3-12 ATS home vs. a winning road unit. Good Luck.

NCAA-B | New Mexico vs Colorado State
Play on: New Mexico -4½ -105 at 5Dimes

I'm laying the points with New Mexico on Wednesday night. The Lobos have reeled off three straight wins and will face a Colorado State squad that has been dead in the water for awhile now. The Rams have won just one of their last 11 games, while going 3-6-2 ATS. CSU has gone through a lot over the last two months, including losing a pair of coaches, one of which was HC Larry Eustachy. The Rams have played with virtually zero intensity on the defensive end allowing 83.7 points per game during the 1-10 slide. That's bad news against a high powered New Mexico squad that wants to run at every opportunity. They're 40th in the nation averaging 81 points per contest. The Lobos won the first meeting 80-65 despite CSU making 53 percent of their shots. But once again, Rams' turnovers did them in, losing the handle on the rock no less than 21 times. They've committed 35 turnovers in their last two games heading into the rematch and there's no reason to believe this team wants more than to end the season soon. It is the final home game of the season for CSU, but home court advantage is minimal with 2,800 fans showing up for their most recent home game, about 32 percent of capacity. The last time these teams met in Fort Collins, UNM walked away an 84-71 winner. We expect similar results tonight and we're laying the points with New Mexico on Wednesday. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer.
