We are looking to start a contest that starts the day after Super Bowl that covers NBA and College Basketball. We bumped around a couple ideas but nothing really set my world on fire so I figured I would pose it to the masses.

If you were going to play in a basketball contest at TheSpread.com with the prizes being TheSpread.com t-shirts what kind of format would you like?

From our standpoint we only care about 2 things

1) I want to give away as many shirts as possible (within reason)
2) It needs to be easy to update and score since it will be done by hand

Lets hear some ideas!

If you don't feel comfortable posting you can always email us using the CONTACT US link at the top of every page.

what about a pick one ( of each pro and college )
It can be easy to track because you can't go crazy and pick 30 games in one day
some days there will be more options, some days there will be less
use widely available spreads... give the date... and specify college and pro picks... ( maybe with O/U's?)
post your record above your picks...

Boise Brian ( 0 - 0 )
1-26-09
ncaa--- oklahoma -3.5
pro---- portland -9.5

Something like that maybe... just a thought for simplicity
By the way ... how many shirts can equal how many winners
100 shirts = top 100 scores
you can go by number of wins, or by %, or first to a certain number like a race to 50 or something
anyways... just some food for thought

Chupacabra, yes I have been getting a lot of ideas. Most of them have been a survivor style contest where the best record gets a shirt and anyone who goes on an undefeated streak gets something bigger.

FYI your post isn't gone, you made it in the hockey forum. Still there 🙂

Thanks for your ideas Chup and Boise Brian, I am gonna have more info on this later in the week.
