Brian Hansen

Houston Rockets at Chicago Bulls
Prediction: Chicago Bulls

Houston (37-21) has won a season-high six straight games despite playing its entire six-game homestand without McGrady, who will miss the rest of the season following microfracture surgery on his left knee; look for the absence of its superstar to catchup with it this evening! In fact it's interesting to note that Houston is a horrible 1-4 ATS off an upset win as an underdog while Chicago is an awesome 6-1 ATS its last 7 when playing against a team with a winning record; play on CHICAGO!

Washington Wizards vs. Milwaukee Bucks
Play: Milwaukee Bucks -7

Washington is coming off a rare double digit win last night only their 5th in their last 20 games. Milwaukee has had their share of injuries, but still playing great ball at home behind Villuuva and Jefferson. I am backing the Bucks at home on Saturday night!

The Thunder, who played last night at Dallas, are usually competitive. As a result, they've fared well in the underdog role and they've been a profitable team on the season overall. However, they haven't had much success when playing the second of back to back games recently. In fact, they're 1-4 SU/ATS the last five times they were in that situation, including 0-2 SU/ATS already this month. Having lost at Oklahoma City a few weeks ago, the Grizzlies, who had last night off, will have payback on their minds. Consider backing the rested home team.

Selection: OKLAHOMA STATE -2

Profile: Oklahoma State is playing their best basketball of the season. They have won four straight games both straight up and against the spread. This game is also a big revenge situation for the Cowboys, as they want to avenge a blowout road loss to Texas a few weeks back. Both teams have exhibited a strong home/road dichotomy as well. The Longhorns are 0-3 against the spread in their last three road games, including outright losses at Nebraska and at Texas A&M. This game is an absolute must win for the Cowboys as well if they want to secure a tournament bid. A loss in this game would basically erase any chance of an at-large bid. Oklahoma State has a very strong home court advantage, which will allow them to get a win and cover.

1 Unit on Northwestern -6.5

Iowa has struggled on the road this season to the tune of 2-11 away from home (1-10 in true road games) while Northwestern has thrived at home to the tune of 12-4. Iowa edged out the Wildcats by at home back on Feb. 7 and I expect Northwestern to return the favor today. Iowa is coming off an emotionally and physically draining performance against Michigan State and that puts them in a letdown spot here. The Wildcats will not be lacking any confidence as they have knocked off bigger fish this season and they will be looking to pay back the Hawkeyes for handing them 4 straight losses. The Wildcats are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a favorite of 6.5 or less and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite. Lay the points!

Larry Ness

Kansas St. -8 vs Nebraska

There is a pretty fair 'story' being played out in Manhattan, Kansas this year. With the help of Michael Beasley and Bill Walker, Frank Martin took over at Kansas St last year after Bob Huggins suddenly left for his alma mater (West Va). With no previous head coaching experience, Martin led the Wildcats (again with more than a little help from Beasley and Walker) into the second round of the NCAA tourney, winning 21 games. However, both Beasley and Walker left for the NBA and times were expected to be tough on the Wildcats this year. That hasn't been the case, as KSU is 19-9 (7-6 in the Big 12), led by guards Pullen (13.4-3.3 APG) and Clemente (15.3-3.2 APG), a Miami-Fla transfer. The frontcourt has great depth, with 6-7 freshman Samuels (8.8-4.9), the 6-10 Kent (8.9-5.6), the 6-5 Sutton (7.6-5.1), the 6-10 Colon (5.1-5.3) and the 6-8 Anderson (4.8-5.5). KSU also owned four straight Big 12 road wins, at Colorado, Texas, Texas A&M and Iowa St, before visiting Missouri on Wednesday. The Wildcats were in the wrong place at the wrong time in Columbia, as the Tigers won 94-74. However, returning home for a revenge game vs Nebraska, could be "just what the doctor ordered." Nebraska fell to 16-10 overall (6-7 in Big 12 play) on Tuesday night, with its 57-55 home loss to Texas A&M. It wasn't any "ordinary" loss, as Nebraska led by 13 points at the half but scored just seven points in the final 14 minutes of the game, making just two FGs over the game's final 16:52. The Aggies scored 10 of the game's final 11 points, winning on Josh Carter's buzzer-beating 3-pointer. Doc Sadler sends out an undersized team but one which plays hard on both ends of the floor but the 'Huskers can't be expected to duplicate their 50 percent shooting from the floor in that first meeting with KSU, including making 10-of-18 three-pointers. Dagunduro (12.2-4.2), Harley (10.5-3.5), Velander (8.3-3.3) and Miller (7.1-3.6 APG) lead the way for Nebraska but Kansas St is 13-3 SU at home and won't repeat its awful shooting performance (41.5 percent / 3-of-13 on threes) in Lincoln. Lay the points, as the Wildcats get their surprising 20th win of the year.

GINA

Sacramento Kings at Utah Jazz

The surging Utah Jazz have won their last six games and eight straight at EnergySolutions Arena, 25-6 at home this year. Meanwhile, Sacramento the league's worst team at 13-47, has dropped 17 of their last 20 games and is 2-22 in its last 24 games on the road, just 4-27 this year. The Jazz are back in full force. Look for Utah to demolish the sad Kings. Sacramento has dropped 17 of their last 20 games and is 2-22 in its last 24 road games, just 4-27 away from home this season.

Utah Jazz -16

MR A

Memphis Grizzlies -4
Milwaukee Bucks -7

JOHNNY GUILD

Orlando Magic at Philadelphia 76ers

Orlando is 3-0 both straight-up and against the spread in the last three clashes against Philadelphia and has won 11 of its last 16 games in Philly, going 11-5 ATS. Expect a close fight in this Eastern Conference rivalry. The Magic have won eight of 11 contests against Atlantic Division opponents. Take the Orlando Magic for a season sweep of the 76ers tonight. Philadelphia is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

Orlando Magic -2

NCAAB
Villanova Wildcats -5.5
Auburn Tigers +5
Gonzaga Bulldogs -9.5
UCLA Bruins -2.5

Minnesota Wild at Edmonton Oilers
Prediction: Edmonton Oilers

Reason: In the NHL, you pretty much handicap spot and situation as much as you do teams. Tonight the Wild visit Edmonton after getting spanked last night in Calgary leaving Minny 2-5 in L7 and currently just 1-3 in the second of B2Bs. The Oilers ar slumping and nothing special but the home team has won the last seven games in the series and Edmonton has had a day to rest and stew over 1-0 home ice loss to Columbus. This is a very manageable number, take Edmonton

John Ryan

Clemson at Florida State
Prediction: Clemson

Reason: Ai Simulator 3* graded play on Clemson over FSU slated to start at 2:00 EST. First, I have had a rough week in the College ranks and to admit that poor performance and to also make amends for those mistakes I have put together the most incredible card of my career. It includes THREE 10* Titan plays and FIVE 5* Monster plays. The 5* Monster plays are on the house and you only when the 10* net you a profit and I promise they will. FSU show very hot from the behind the arc in their last game and that sets them in a poor role for this critical game. FSU is just 5-15 ATS (-11.5 Units) in home games after a game where they made 50% of their 3 point shots or better since 1997. Clemson is a solid 12-4 ATS (+7.6 Units) in road games after playing a home game over the last 2 seasons. FSU shot hot from the 3-point arc, but were just 39% for the game. That game was a loss to BC 72-67 putting them into a must win out condition to get into the Tournament. Clemson, based on my research and statistic PR ratings, may be the most under rated team in the ACC. They too need this game to gain a strong seeding for the ACC Tournament. Clemson is ?IN?, but I do not see any let down here in Tallahassee. Clemson has significant advantages in nearly all facets of this game and I would not be surprised to see this a double digit Tiger win.

LT Profits

Samford +6

The Samford Bulldogs and the Appalachian State Mountaineers play at completely different paces, but the generosity of the Appalachian defense always makes them a risky proposition laying this many points.

Yes, the Mountaineers are averaging an impressive 76.2 points per game here at home, but the problem has been that the defense is allowing a nearly identical 76.0 points on 45.1 percent shooting in this building, which accounts for their modest 7-6 straight up home record. The Mounties have been burning money for most of this season, going just 9-14-1 against the spread.

On the other hand, Samford is an impressive 14-8 ATS while playing more of a slowdown game. They were able to slow down Appalachian State at home in a 68-56 victory last month, and even though they are now on the road, that should not prevent the Bulldogs from running their methodical offense and their customary good defense.

Even if the Mountaineers to speed this game up a bit, we do not think that will be enough for the 19-point swing necessary from the first meeting that would prevent Samford from getting the cover.

Samford +6

JEFF SCOTT SPORTS

5 UNIT PLAY (MAC GOY)

(Power Angle Play)

Western Michigan -1 over TOLEDO

The Broncos are 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400, while teh Rockets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Mid-American and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games as an underdog of 0.5-6.5. Neither team has been that good this year, but I really like the Broncos to get the job done here. WMU may be just 8-15 overall, but have played better in the MAC, with a 6-7 record and that record has them just one game behind division leading Ball State in the MAC West standings. The Broncos offense hasn't been that great this year as they are averaging just 61.1 ppg overall (306th), 60.2 ppg in the MAC and 58.2 ppg on the road. The Broncos do a good job from the line also as they are 119th in FT% (70.3%)The thing that has kept them in most games has been their defense as they are 77th in points allowed (63.2 ppg), plus they have allowed just 61.4 ppg in the MAC and 60.2 ppg in their last 5 overall. The Toledo Rockets have had a really dreadful season as they have gone just 5-23 overall and 3-10 in MAC play. The Rockets offense is ranked even lower that the Broncos as they put up just 57.9 ppg overall (332nd). They are also 315th in 3pt FG% (30.5%) and 309th in shooting FT's (63.6%). On defense this team is middle of the national ranking (173rd) as they allow 67.5 ppg overall. In MAC play the Rockets have been outscored by 10.4 ppg as they averaged just 56.1 ppg and allow 66.5 ppg. From the numbers above you can see that the Broncos get a slim addvantage on offense, while they have a bigger advantage on defense and from the FT line. I Didn't include the numbers but the Broncos also have the rebounding edge. WMU is still in the thick of the MAC West race, so thye still have a ton to play for here, while the Rockets are already thinking about next year. Western Michigan by 8+ here.

POWER ANGLE For This Play--- I'm 3-1 this year when I've combined a PA Play with a GOY or Month. W MICHIGAN is 16-2 ATS when playing against a terrible team (Win Pct. <=20%) since 1997.

2 UNIT PLAY

VILLANOVA -6 over Georgetown

The Hoyas are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 vs. Big East and 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, while the Wildcats are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. Boy the Cats really played a stinker of a game their last time out vs Depaul, but maybe a game vs better competition they will be a bit more focused. The Hoyas are a better team than Depaul, but they have really struggled this year, especially once the Big East schedule started. Georgetown is just 4-11 SU and 2-12-1 ATS in their last 15 games and thier only SU wins in their last 11 games were vs South Fla and Rutgers. The Cats are abouyt 8 notches above those teams. The Cats are heaeded the other way, as they have won 9 of their last 10 games and they have won 6 in a row at home in the Big East, with all 6 wins being by double digits. Villanova got a scare from Depaul the other night but that won't happen again, as they take the Hoyas down, rather easily.

1 UNIT PLAY

Butler/ Cleveland State UNDER 126

Two of the top defenses in the Horizon will meet today as Butler allows just 58.4 ppg, while State allows just 60.3 ppg. The Under is 7-2 the last 9 in the series, with an average of just 114.3 ppg being scored. I say go LOW here.
